The dinner and service were both impeccable. Even though the menu is more limited than in the past due to the recent reopening, there was plenty of choice. We enjoyed the two chef's recommendations of the day, steelhead and salmon -- both delicious!

I had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. My only disappointment was no actual shellfish and this place is called Jake's Famous "Crawfish"..

Welcome back as Covid19 phase 1 happens! The best meal I’ve had here-no comparison to “normal” times. The service was attentive & timely. The food was sublime (all 4 meals perfectly prepared!!). But the best part....the atmosphere. It was not the usual packed house din. The ambiance was perfect, the normal voice volumes was definitely noticeable! Lots of fresh air wafting through open doors. I loved this meal more than any other I’ve had at Jake’s! If you can go now, do. You will appreciate it.

We knew that because of Covid-19 that this would be our last chance to dine out, so we choose Jake's, our favorite Portland restaurant. As always, the food was delicious and the service attentive and gracious. We're looking forward to this pandemic being behind us, so that life will get back to normal. Wishing well to all the folks in the hospitality and foodservice industry, and a thanks to all the folks in the health industry too.

I was in Portland visiting for the first time in 21 years. When I lived in Portland this restaurant was one of my favorites so wanted to see if it still was a great place for seafood. It did not disappoint. The steelhead was perfection! The truffle cake is still a great way to end a wonderful meal.

We love this classic beautiful restaurant. A special dining experience. We had steamed clams, crab cakes and a crusted fish entree. All was very good. Service was great as usual. The only complaint was when we were wanting to ask our server for something she wasn’t around for several minutes and another server said they’ll send her over, instead of just helping us.

What's not to thoroughly enjoy about Jake's. We met early in the bar, and Jason was again top notch...love his dirty martinis. Dinner was simply fabulous, I had the stuffed halibut and it was incredibly good. Our server, Andrea, was entertaining, professional, and attentive.

Great place for seafood and probably other dishes. Very attentive and professional staff. Nice ambience.

We went to Jake's for Portland Dining Month and felt that the $33.00 per person was a good deal for a starter, an entree, and dessert. We did notice as we were leaving that the dessert portion we received was about 1/3 of the usual amount of dessert from the regular menu, but we certainly felt that the entrees and the starters (clam chowder or a salad) were of a normal portion size. Our server was great and we enjoyed our evening there.

I had the crab and shrimp cakes. Loved 'em. Service was very attentive and the ambience is great.

Jake's is our favorite restaurant in Portland. We always go for special occasions and we love to take visitors there. Our food and service were outstanding!

My husband always enjoy dinner at Jake’s. Their clams are the best. They always have a lot of seafood choices which is our favorites. The servers are always so nice and take very good care of you.

Lovely experience (as usual). We used this week as an opportunity to take advantage of Portland Dining Month and the menu had such classics as clam chowder and gumbo. It was a wonderful meal, always made special by the fantastic service Jake’s provides. The waitstaff is superb and always willing to accommodate special dietary requests. We come for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Treat yourself! (Don’t forget to sign up for the Landry’s card, which is good at other famous dining institutions such as McCormick and Schmick’s and the Chart House. But Jake’s always has the best service!).

We decided to go to Jake’s for my birthday dinner and we weren’t sorry at all. Portions were REAL sized, Steve, our waiter was knowledgeable and personable. The service was phenomenal.

I love the older style dining experience with all the wood. The noise level is so much lower than all the modern restaurants. The food and service - always superb.

We have been eating at Jake’s for 30 years, but this was the first time we had been here in about two years. This was our last visit. The service, drinks and Caesar salad were all excellent. However entrées were disappointing. I considered ordering the sturgeon special which was $45. However after learning that it was only a 6 ounce piece of sturgeon, I ordered the scallops sauté instead. That turned out to be a mistake. For $35 I received only four tiny scallops. We left feeling ripped off.

Too bad they won't make the Mussels Puttanesca anymore - very disappointing. BUT the Blue Plate Special Steelhead was excellent, as was the Rock Cod Lafitte. Great bread, great beer. We've been eating here once a year for over 30 years and have never had a bad meal.

This is one of our favorite restaurants so when I saw it on the Dine out Portland that happens in Portland every March, I was very happy. I felt the choices for the $33 three-course meal was good, but the food itself was very under par for this restaurant.

Venerable landmark restaurant that know service and quality

Arguably the very best seafood restaurant in Portland. If you haven't tried the crab saute there you are missing one of the finest dishes served anywhere in the Northwest.
Also the stuffed wild Chinook salmon is equally as good.
With an extensive menu that includes seared tuna and many other daily favorites, it's pretty hard to go wrong here.
If you are going to eat here, take the time to make a reservation; it is very popular and can fill up fast on any given night.
If you can make it by 4:30 or so they do have tables in the bar, and they will serve dinner there too.
You can have a window there into the ever-deteriorating landscape known as downtown Portland.

Everything is great! But what you should try is the crab! It has a flavor that’s so awesome you will think you were drugged. No hyperbole there folks.
