Jakers Bar and Grill - Missoula
The Jakers Missoula location was established in 1997 and offers a full catering service. We have a stone fired pizza oven which makes delicious pizzas in eight different varieties. We have a stream that runs by the restaurant next to the patio so in the summer, you might find yourself sitting next to a friendly, yet feisty duck.
What makes Jakers in Missoula stand apart from the rest? We offer a delicious salad bar with seven different soups, fruit, veggies, and endless varieties of salad offerings. We are known for our delicious Lobster Bisque and fresh, hot scones with honey butter.
We returned to Jakers because we love the rib eye for two. Service was terrific! A great spot for a steak dinner.
We were skeptical going into Jakers after reading about poor service and tasteless food. However we wanted to be our own judge. We are very happy we are at Jakers. Cheryl or is it Sheryl (sorry) our waitress was attentive, friendly and fun. The food was delicious. Maybe for some it is bland but my husband and I never load our food with salt so that we can actually taste our meal. So happy that is how we eat our meals because we tasted outstanding food. Great job Jakers. We will be back on our next visit to Missoula.
This was honestly the best prime rib I have ever had. So thick, buttery thin, not a giant piece of fat attached. So. So. So good.
Fabulous! Large portions, rib eye was perfection!
Noah was our waiter and he was AMAZING. He is definitely a keeper!
Excellent service and the food was great! The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing.
Our meal was good and the service was tremendous! For a busy night the restaurant was pretty quiet and the service was timely and effective.
Went for the Valentine’s Day buffet. Crab was rarely available on the line. The prime rib slices were a joke. To top it all off the dessert was still frozen. Pretty bad all around which surprised me because I like Jakers.
The lobster bisque was delicious as usual.
I would generally recommend Jakers to a friend but if asked about the Valentine’s Day buffet I would not.
The setting was calm and tranquil, our server was energetic and so helpful. It was a great evening.
They did not have my reservation which was extremely embarrassing as I was hosting a business luncheon for 8 people. They did find us a quiet area to sit after we asked to be moved from a noisy area.
Food & service are always excellent at Jakers!
We had made reservations and were promptly seated when we arrived. The waitress was friendly and attentive. She
got drinks and the orders were taken right away. She did check back to see if the food was ok. She came back to check on dessert orders and boxed up left over food. The food was good. Everyone was pleased with their orders. It was busy but we weren’t rushed and had a great night.
Great food and service.
Food options for vegans are limited, especially protein. I opted for salad bar, but a bean burger or even black beans added to salad bar would be great. Others at my table thought food choices were good. The service was excellent. Very nice to be able to make reservations.
If you want to eat at a typical chain restaurant, then I suppose that this would be an ok choice. I, however, do not like chain restaurants in general and mistakenly made reservations here. I wanted a decent restaurant in Missoula but this was not it. I ordered the “wood fired” pizza however I am pretty sure they stuck a frozen pizza in their oven; whether it was wood-fired or not, it was not good. Also one of the waiters decided to have a conversation with the table behind us for a good 10 minutes and was rather loud and obnoxious.
While I indicated it was an anniversary, nobody mentioned it or did anything special for the 50th wedding anniversary couple.
As part of my trip to Missoula, I wanted to have a steak dinner. This place is reasonably priced and both the prime rib and sirloin cut were tasty (and reasonably priced. Reasonably priced steak prices and it includes a side + soup & salad. The waitress was wonderful and spent some time talking with us about Spokane (where we are from) and NYC (where she wants to live and where we originally hail from). For the price, the steaks were well seasoned and broiled as requested. We'll return to Jakers next time we visit Missoula!
I would recommend to a friend. The appetizers were top notch. The staff was very good. I liked the way they came over what seemed like every 5-10 mins to see if there was anything we needed. However, I like my steaks and I know how to expect them. I did really want to go and give the steak cook a couple tips on what not to do. Not that I'm a pro, but I've gotten pretty good at it. I asked the waitress the have them make my steak ( sirloin ) medium-rare, but more on the rare side. It came out med or maybe a little bit more, doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but alot of things happen when you transition a steak past that point. So for $30 I'd like my steak to be close to perfect. Other than that everything was good and top notch, the whole family enjoyed it.
The service was great, very helpful and attentive but not bothersome. The food was excellent as well, and plentiful. Good salads, vegetable and steaks. And a good bar. Will return the next time we’re in Missoula.
6 of us went for my wife’s birthday. 2 of us had the 8oz prime rib and the cut was truly tough. My wife had the small tenderloin and it, also, was tough!! We assumed that with the advertising and cost that the meat would be exceptional. We will not be back for dinner as the experience was not as hoped.
Good food, great margaritas!
We had a wonderful waitress and the food was prepared perfectly. We had craft cocktails that were generous and refreshing.
Great food, service is great & we only get to go once a year to celebrate a special day and every year food & service is always excellent!
We've been dining at Jaker's for many years and have particularly enjoyed their baby back ribs. On this visit we learned that item is no longer on the menu! Very disappointing. How about bringing it back with its original non-spicy sauce? Other than that, everything we ate was well-prepared--seafood linguini, pan-fried shrimp, tempura shrimp, Caesar salad, soup. Service was excellent, too.
Been to a different Jakers before, came in expecting good things... BUT man I did not expect to be absolutely blown away by the service and the food! Our waitress was top notch and very attentive. The food was literally out of this world good... I typically don't write many reviews unless its worth writing for! I would highly recommend Jakers in Missoula, MT...
Great service, great food, great ambiance...out was perfect!
Birthday Dinner for my husband was good. Could have been quieter but it was prom night.
The halibut was dry. Several times the server came to the table and interrupted our conversation and continued to make personal conversation with us. I was in mid sentence many times and hand to recollect my conversation. Also, the server told us that sometimes the asparagus is not good but the steak would be good because of a certain chef on that night. Evidently, other chefs are not so good with steak?
There are so many things I can't eat, a great salad and soup bar us a welcome sight while traveling. Gluten Free Vegetable was the best, and salad bar was greens and add in items, as well as pre made salads. Salad area was being restocked while I was there, so I had to wait a few minutes for some items, but this is the only element that was less than superior.
IT was just ok. French onion soup way to salty for me. Fish was very tasteless .. no malt or ketchup for fries offered.
We have always enjoyed Jakers but our recent visit was not as good as we have previously experienced. The menu has changed a bit, and I had been looking forward to having their soup and salad bar, but it was not listed on the menu so it wasn't an option. (I also did not see anyone going into the alcove that housed their salad bar). I ordered the special for the evening, which sounded good... a sole filet with a lemon caper sauce. However what I actually got was a clump of broken up fish on top of some rice, with a greasy sauce that didn't have a lemon flavor. On top of that they had dumped or piled about 8 ounces of capers. Way too many capers that I had to scrape off the fish in order to eat it. The capers were quite overwhelming for the fish, not to mention there were MUCH more than needed. I did indicate this to the waiter, who said he would let the chef know, but didn't offer to have another one made or substitute it for me. He also did not comp us anything for the failed fish dish. Other than that, the other meals my family ordered were fine, as always the scones and honey butter are delicious and the mud pie was good.
Jakers is consistently very good. It's worth every penny. Food is excellent and so is the service!
The waitress seems to be in a hurry throughout our dinner wanting us to get done. Not that friendly. First time this has happened at Jakers.
Our reservations were messed up twice, the service was terrible, the food was wrong twice and it was my boyfriends first time going there. He won't be back now.
Wonderful dining experience. Great seafood buffet. Service was terrific! Highly recommended! Thanks!
Very well taken care and very personable and knowledgeable wait staff. Food was excellent
The service at Jakers is always so great. I appreciate that they are friendly, fast and can make good recommendations. They're also always very accommodating to my 3 year old.
We feel like the restaurant has gone down hill over the last couple years; in value, food, and service. We do not plan on returning in the future.
Our waitress made sure everything was wonderful! She knew the menu, prices and when we asked for a suggestion she was able to provide that. I love Jaker's!
We had the soup and salad bar. So many selections available.
