We went to Jaker's to celebrate a birthday. The steak, prime rib(very tender and delicious) and halibut were all cooked to perfection. Special requests for food preparation were graciously honored. Happy hour at Jaker's has some great deals and generous wine pours. Our server Justin was awesome!
We have enjoyed Jaker's for years. The crab stuffed avocado and deep fried zucchini are my favorites. Always excellent food and service as well as wonderful atmosphere.
Service and food are always top notch! Servers are friendly and always paying attention. Soup and salad bar are a great deal for lunch or dinner. You won’t leave hungry. We always leave happy 😃
I had the Some Dude’s Burger on a lettuce bun, open face. Delicious as always! My husband had the grilled turkey sandwich for the first time and he said it was outstanding! We’ve never had a meal there we didn’t thoroughly enjoy! Only downside to Jakers is its a bit of a drive for us, but so well worth it!!
Our favorites at Jakers:
Some Dude’s Burger
And everything else!!
We usually don’t have room for dessert but they look awesome as well.
This is really a great restaurant. Varied menu so there's something for everyone. Our party of 4 was all very satisfied. Service was friendly and responsive.
Late Lunch time arrival we were placed in the far exterior of the building. Our waitress promptly forgot us for 15 minutes returning with several drink orders wrong. Food was prepared well and was worth the wait. Only one other table of the 12 was occupied.
I am sorry to say that our experience at Jaker's for my mother's Birthday was very disappointing. I have eaten at Jaker's in Eastern Idaho and had wonderful experiences. This restaurant however, is not nearly as nice. It is small and very stuffy. We were roasting throughout our entire meal. The food could be compared to what you would order at an Applebees, which is obviously not what we were anticipating. The most disappointing part of our visit was the service. Our waitress was slow, clearly had too many tables and for lack of a better word lazy. She was constantly off to the side chit chatting with other employees and not paying attention to her customers. She had assistant servers, and I assume she felt it was their duty to clear plates from the tables. She left our salad plates, bread plates etc on the table when we were done with them. When our dinner came she was moving them to the center of the table so she could set our plates down. I had to ask her to remove them when she left. We will not be returning to this location in the future.
We had great service and great food. It was an anniversary dinner for my girlfriend’s parents. It was nice and quiet so we could communicate easily.
Great restaurant and good food and service. They offer an over 60 menu (you need to request one) with smaller portions and somewhat smaller prices.
We make a reservation for a birthday. When we arrived, the waiting time was 50+ minutes for non reserved guests, the hostess got us in at our reserved time, we only waited a few minutes because we were early. The waiters was cheerful and competent, the food was very good, I could have had a few more bowls of the clam chowder and called it dinner. It was excellent ! the steaks and short ribs we ordered were marvelous.. This was our first time at Jakers, we'll definitely go again.
My husband and I met at Jaker's a little over 7 years ago. We've been back numerous times since. This last time we met with another couple and had a great time. The food and drinks were good, ambiance was good. Overall a nice time.
Great food. Excellent service
Jakers was great. Great food and service. Was a tad on the pricier side but well worth it. Will be going back and would recommend to a friend.
We arrived early and sat at the bar until our table was ready at 7 :30. The hostess said we would have to wait till our scheduled time. Which was fine to us because we were early. I watched the hostess turn away 3 families because they didn't have a reservation and didn't want to wait for a long time. First they couldn't find our reservation and when they did ( I helped ) we were seated on the back patio. It was loud back there ( no carpet ) and there were numerous tables in the restaurant that were open. I took pictures when we Were there and when we left and it looks very empty. Our waitress was a delight but by that time my husband was out of sorts and I'm sure he will never use open table or go to Jakers again. We have had a date night every Friday for the last 10 year's.
Jakers is a nice sit down lunch/dinner establishment with a full bar. Tough to spot from the main highway so keep an eye out for Pine Avenue. Dining area is similar to an Applebee's but their menu options are a notch above. Service was prompt and courteous. Nice selection of appetizers. Expect to pay in the $20's for a dinner plate with some choices a little higher. Overall a good experience and will definitely return.
One member of our party who ordered the salad bar was sick during the night and missed work the next day. Too noisy. Miso sauce on salmon was was too salty. Service was good.
The Prime Rib and Trout were both delicious. We couldn't believe how large the trout portion was. Our server was average at best, but the food including the creme brulee made up for him!
Next time we come in we will know to bring our own fly swatters.
Meal was good as always. We did not get our appetizer that we ordered 🙁
It's always a nice experience wether we are seated at a table, a booth, or the bar.
Great food and service. What more can you say? LOVED the salmon on cedar plank. I'll be back!
Great service and food.
It was my first time visiting a Jakers. I had their fish & chips and the portion was large, delicious, and I thought the price was reasonable given how much we got. The waitress was not great, but also not terrible.... so "average". When she came around she was very friendly, she just forgot a couple of things. All in all a great experience.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere of Jakers but the noise level was pretty high to where it was hard to hear what people were saying since it was a Sorority meeting for us..... However the food was great!
Love Jakers. Started off with a well made Manhattan at the bar. Filet for dinner. Ordered medium but will do med rare next time. Paired with the Hahn Cabernet. Our waitress Emily was wonderful! Can't wait to go back
Staff was professional and courteous. The food and beer were excellent. I would recommend upgrading one’s soup so you can try the lobster bisque because it is absolutely the best soup ever made.
Overall, we had a good experience at Jakers Bar and Grill. We had the salad/soup bar, along with an entree (Premium Sirloin), which we split. The food was pretty good and the steak very good.
Jakers is our favorite, very seldom do we have a unfavorable visit.
We love Jakers in Meridian! It is our “go to” for spending a special evening together and the food is always amazing!
My whole experience was basically all because of Talon. Give that man a raise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of our favorite restaurants and we took our nephew for dinner. The prime rib was tough and the crab salad had only ground up crab which we felt was overpriced . When we arrived 5 minutes early , we were not seated ( even though the restaurant was not full) and given a beeper to wait until our “scheduled time”. Never had that happen before.

To my friends over 60 I would recommend the "Special Plate" menu. It has smaller portions and better prices but you have to ask for it.
As for price I wouldn't go out for dinner on a regular basis if you have a limited income.
When I made the reservation I made a special point of saying it was my wife's 70th birthday. If I hadn't said something twice it would have been overlooked.
I believe three out of the four meals were just as ordered. Main course came way to fast. Only got three bites of my dinner salad.
Celebrated our anniversary. Server was outstanding. I has the filet oscar. I ate every bite. Will be returning.
Dinner with friends. My husband ordered the French Dip. I ordered the slices ahi. Service was very good; our waiter from NY was great.
My ahi was ok. Not great, not awful. Overcooked instead of seared edges. My husband’s roast beef in is French Dip was bloody and spongy.
We’ve been to Jakers since they were located in Park Center and in Twin Falls. And been to the a Meridian location for years. The food was always exceptional. Not this time. And it was a little disappointing
We had an amazing time for our Anniversary. Thank you. Our Waitress Lindsey was fabulous!
We were 15 minutes early and reception seemed put out by that. There were plenty of open tables.
The salad bar was fresh, but I would have liked to have been offered to go back for some fruit for desert. Salad selections were fewer than most salad bars.
We left a good tip, but meh.
It was a slow afternoon and the staff let my party and I talk uninterrupted for a couple of hours. Pleasant experience. Always fun nice people.
Our server was ok. The restaurant was not that busy however it seemed like it took longer than it should for him to return to the table. Also the salad bar lobster bisque had obviously been in the warmer a long time because it was thick and lumpy. The side of lobster bisque tha was ordered with two of the meals was definitely much better. The special salmon was overcooked and the Brussels sprouts was undercooked. Both steak dinners that were different cuts of meat was well done. One had been ordered medium, the other medium well. Both came completely cooked through. The baked potatoes came dry with just a very small amount of sour cream and just a hint of butter. Our server said that they were short staffed in the kitchen because of people not showing up to work. We have eaten several times before and always had great food. However this time it was very poor. To have a nice dinner with a $200.00 price tag is expected. However when it isn't it the thought of going again is unlikely.
We have always been Jakers customers since they were down at Park Center location, we have ebbed and flowed based on the service and quality, I would say they have rebounded from a year ago, and we are back enjoying their food regularly, at least 2-3x per month. My wife is excited, they brought back the crab cake appetizer and it was very good, where for years it had a lot of filler, and then it was gone off the menu. She thought it equaled her favorite Seattle or Portland crab cakes restaurants. They have wonderful; scones, great garlic shrimp steak, and I always get the Baked Potato Soup.
