So let me just say that I love everything about this restaurant. Beautiful riverside patio. Best chicken fried steak in Texas, and that is saying a lot! Perfect, and I mean perfect, pecan pie. Would have been a lovely evening except the rude seating hostess was telling customers as she was seating us (and I heard her tell other tables too) that because of the size of our party (3) we were limited to 1 hour 45 minutes. As if we were not worthy. As if we had any control of how quickly we were served or how slow the kitchen was! That is what the waitress should be aware of, not valued customers!!! It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth and certainly made me want to dawdle. Really bad form. Someone should complain...
Awful all-around. Service rigid & unapologetic. Food: chicken undercooked, hair in yeast roll, and brought beef burger when ordered veggie burger. Would not recommend.
Food and service were outstanding!
The food just wasn’t that good, I was disappointed
Cool spot but the food was just so so, deviled eggs and Texas caviar really weren't impressive. However the burger was delightful.
Great brunch experience
Steaks were cold and lacked flavor. Spent over $700 on dinner/drinks with our group and nothing was comped when we told them about the steaks. Tip was already included for a large party, but based on the quality we received, I do not feel the price was justified. We will not be returning.
My husband and I went to Jacoby’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Jacoby’s was our wedding venue so it’s always sentimental when we go. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and we were seated outside at a picnic table. It was quiet and we felt wonderfully isolated. The weather was beautiful, slightly chilly (they had heaters at the tables- love that!).
The food is always delicious and this visit was no different. My favorite, the meatloaf, was so good. I took half home for lunch the next day. The stra
The food was quite good (as always) and our server helpful without being obsequious. The only reason this is a four star rather than a five star review is the obnoxious warning given by the young lady who led us to our table that we had an hour and forty five minutes in which to finish our meal and depart. After nine months in London where we heard this refrain more than a few times at fine dining venues, we had hoped that this English import would not find its way to our shores, but clearly Jacoby’s is worried that its patrons might linger too long over a chicken fried steak and a beer or two. Not likely to happen, but don’t say you weren’t warned.
Great food, great service and spacious place. Will go back for sure!
The chicken fried steak was so tough!
Was great for Easter brunch!
Wonderful biscuits! Lots of creative offerings in a fun and casual setting.
What a wonderful place!!! The outdoor area is scattered with picnic tables and overlooks the Colorado River...it's so peaceful that you won't believe you are just minutes from downtown Austin. The food was delicious and the service was excellent(...and the Bloody Marys were TO DIE FOR!). The only caveat is that parking is really tricky...we went for Easter brunch and the valet was full so the only thing available was street parking along a muddy stretch of E. Cesar Chavez. So your walk to the restaurant is pretty much in the street! Perhaps it's not so much of an issue on a regular day. Already looking forward to our next visit!
Jacobys will always be one of my favorites restaurants. I love taking friends here, going to happy hour, and having date nights. It's a great atmosphere and the food is delicious!
Jacobys had a beautiful view, delicious food and drinks, attentive service, and a great ambiance.
Food would have been better, but had to wait 45 minutes for it and them delivered warm to almost cold.
Overpriced for what you get. Chilies quality and upscaled prices. Steak was below average, salmon had no flavor, burger was ok, nothing special about food. To top it off parking is horrible! I would never go back, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
Really great food!
Had crab cakes, pecan pancakes, the bibb salad, and what I like to call the “OH MY GOODNESS! Biscuit and gravy”
Love the heated lamps on the patio as it worked wonders for a slightly chilly rainy day for Brunch!
The service was great! Our server was very attentive to our needs and very patient. I highly recommend! I will be coming back in the very near future!
I loved the complimentary valet parking-as well!
Food was tasty but cold when delivered. Service was verrrrrrry slow and getting drink refills etc took longer than you’d expect.
Great birthday night.
Very interesting menu options that was well-cooked and presented. Outdoor areas are super pleasant to eat.
Food, delish as usual. Service, impeccable. Patio is one of the best in Austin, love all the trees and "tree" furniture!
It didn't taste ike quality meat. It tasted like old meat.
Also, We ask it to be medium cook and it was well cook.
We went for their Wednesday happy hour and I can’t express how amazing the food was for the price. One of the best cheeseburgers in town, and for $10. Their beef is sourced from the family ranch outside of Austin to give you a real farm-to-table experience. We loved eating under the twinkle lights on their massive patio.
What a lovely place. Brussels sprouts were 🤯 bananas. Bought a candle in the lobby on the way out. My girlfriend had a great time and that’s all that matters.
No matter the occasion, brunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed at Jacoby’s. Save room for dessert, the strawberry cake should not be missed!
As this was our 3rd time to the restuarant, it was the best thus far...! We definitely will be back as the food gets better each and everytime. My server was on point too and new when to come and bring apps or water before bringing the main dishes. The drinks hands were amazing too! Thanks for making my bday dinner a success!
Shrimp and grits were too small and too disappointing for $30 in my opinion. The Mac and cheese was the best thing. Okay, the drinks were pretty good too. My Melvin mule was very nice. However, This place feels like an upscale chili’s, but not exactly in a good way. I don’t see a reason to come back to this establishment. The prices don’t match most of the food. Overall, disappointed.
So happy to have stumbled upon this place! Visiting my Longhorn son and looking for a fun place to enjoy dinner with the Fam ...Jacoby’s fit the bill perfectly. We loved the vibe and The outside patio was lovely. Our server was great and Super attentive. From The specialty cocktails to Appetizers and entrées, everything was perfect. Simply delicious. My son said it was the best meal he’s had in a while and he loved the shrimp and grits. As a Texas native living in California I had to have a chicken fried steak... it did not disappoint. My husband said the steak and frites was fantastic and my youngest son said the burger was incredible...So big he could not even eat all of it. So thrilled I found this place...Will be back next time we’re in the lone star state!
The food was not worth the price and was lacking flavor. The ambience was nice.
Best southern food in town
This is a fun, happy place with great service and food.
We love this local gem! Great view of the river from the back patio - and the food is always amazing!
Our first time here was a great experience. We see future visits with Family and friends.
Lovely, if pricey,.. great place for a special occasion. Lovely outdoor area.
Good food good ambience good service. Would go back again
Everything was wonderful! Tasty and great service!
Great ambience, service and surprisingly we got there during happy hour. The margaritas and yeast buns were great as was everything else
