Wonderful Mother’s Day Brunch!
Great ambiance, mostly outdoor patio seating. Good vegetarian options as well as the meat focus.
Had family in town Mother’s Day weekend and went to Jacoby’s for dinner. Everyone loved it. Food was great. Ambiance sitting outside with the light was perfect. The strawberry cake is a must!
Always enjoy Jacoby’s!!
Great place and the outdoor dining is the only way to go. Sitting next to the river is great. All the food was outstanding and the service is great. Liquor selection is a bit thin, didn't have anything of the basic liquors, wines or beers any of us drink. They had others, but it was a bit of a turn off.
I usually love Jacoby's but we ate on a sticky bench. Server was friendly and attentive but never heard of any of the drinks we asked her about. There were plenty of tables around but for some reason we were seated on a sticky picnic table. The steak was just okay. The mac and cheese was great as always.
Absolutely amazing food on a beautiful patio! Highly recommend the beef carpaccio appetizer, it was fabulous.
Amazing service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. I am a restaurant GM, so i am often times hypercritical, and Jacoby’s impressed me in every aspect of the experience. We are recommending this place to everyone and will be back!
An absolutely perfect experience! Ambience, view, the MEAL, service -all fantastic. Can’t wait for my next visit!
The food seems to be going downhill. I had the steak and eggs and was very disappointed.
We had an amazing experience and having Robert as a waiter made the occasion even more special! He was great!
It was good. Food was great and our server was amazing.
We just didn’t appreciate that when we got there we asked if we can seat outside and the host said “no you can’t” and left us on our table. We looked outside and we saw plenty of empty tables....we understand there are other reservations but she could’ve used a different way to say it.
Then our server came and made us forgot the bad feelings we had.
At the end, we had a good time!
Nice place, good burger, salad was excellent, thankfully we paid the happy hour $5 special for the bone marrow baguette, very tiny, almost no bone marrow flavor. I would not have been happy if I’d had paid $12 for 4 crusts of bread.
Perfect weekend brunch spot. Amazing ambiance with gorgeous river views, great twists on traditional brunch food and great service. You must try the biscuits and gravy they are heavenly.
Abby was our server and again she was such a delight
Best service we have had while visiting Austin this week. Roberto could have been a manger he was very accommodating and personable. Food was great. Patio was decorated cute as well.
Appetizers/drinks were great, and the view is beautiful! However, the main courses were very bland and overpriced.
Amazing food and amazing service. The buster was the most hardworking employee! There was never an empty glass when he was around, he deserved the majority of the tip compared to hostess and waitstaff. HOWEVER, this restaurant is quite overpriced and outdoor seating was an unsanitized picnic table with layers of dirt on it and a sticky consistency. For our reservation we had 5 people for over $300 bill of American burgers and booze. Normally that is $100 less at any other establishment in Austin/ nationwide. Other than that the employees are amazing and the food was up to par. Just not for the price.
We arrived 7 minutes before our reservation, and were made to feel like we were an hour early. The hostess team runs a tight ship. We had time to take in the ambience out back, grab a drink from the bar, and look forward to what would come next from the hostess.
We were rewarded with a perfect table just under the outside patio roof, and Robert provided us with the perfect service. We literally used up every minute of the one hour, 45 minutes allotted to us by the hostess, and tipped not only Robert, but also the attentive staff clearing tables and bringing waters.
Do not be fooled by the neighborhood; you'll be glad you made the decision to stay and try the food. We certainly enjoyed the cauliflower as an appetizer, and the burger and carpaccio were the perfect meal for our planned evening activities.
All-in-all, we will definitely consider going back and recommending Jacoby's.
I really wanted to like this place as it has been on my radar for quite sometime, however, after the meal we had last night, I left very disappointed.
If not for the wonderful service we received from Chris, this review would only garner 2 stars.
I love a good frose, but this one had no flavor and was kind of watery, thank goodness the jalapeño biz was much better.
We chose the deviled eggs for an app and usually deviled eggs are brought to room temp before they are served, they should never be served straight from the fridge.
For our meals, we chose the salmon, veggie burger, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts, and a $90 steak. I stress the $90 price tag because my friend said it was one of the worst steaks he has ever had and definitely not worth the cost. We had to send the salmon and mac & cheese back as both were cold and the veggie burger was just alright. The brussel sprouts and strawberry cake made up for the mediocre meal. However, later on in the evening, we all had an upset stomach and for that reason, it will be a while before, or if I ever, decide to dine here again.
We loved Jacoby’s. Have always heard about it - this was our first time. Good food, great ambiance and lovely staff. Thank you! A great place for my birthday dinner.
So let me just say that I love everything about this restaurant. Beautiful riverside patio. Best chicken fried steak in Texas, and that is saying a lot! Perfect, and I mean perfect, pecan pie. Would have been a lovely evening except the rude seating hostess was telling customers as she was seating us (and I heard her tell other tables too) that because of the size of our party (3) we were limited to 1 hour 45 minutes. As if we were not worthy. As if we had any control of how quickly we were served or how slow the kitchen was! That is what the waitress should be aware of, not valued customers!!! It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth and certainly made me want to dawdle. Really bad form. Someone should complain...
Awful all-around. Service rigid & unapologetic. Food: chicken undercooked, hair in yeast roll, and brought beef burger when ordered veggie burger. Would not recommend.
Food and service were outstanding!
The food just wasn’t that good, I was disappointed
Cool spot but the food was just so so, deviled eggs and Texas caviar really weren't impressive. However the burger was delightful.
Great brunch experience
Steaks were cold and lacked flavor. Spent over $700 on dinner/drinks with our group and nothing was comped when we told them about the steaks. Tip was already included for a large party, but based on the quality we received, I do not feel the price was justified. We will not be returning.
My husband and I went to Jacoby’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Jacoby’s was our wedding venue so it’s always sentimental when we go. Our reservation was for 8:30pm and we were seated outside at a picnic table. It was quiet and we felt wonderfully isolated. The weather was beautiful, slightly chilly (they had heaters at the tables- love that!).
The food is always delicious and this visit was no different. My favorite, the meatloaf, was so good. I took half home for lunch the next day. The stra
The food was quite good (as always) and our server helpful without being obsequious. The only reason this is a four star rather than a five star review is the obnoxious warning given by the young lady who led us to our table that we had an hour and forty five minutes in which to finish our meal and depart. After nine months in London where we heard this refrain more than a few times at fine dining venues, we had hoped that this English import would not find its way to our shores, but clearly Jacoby’s is worried that its patrons might linger too long over a chicken fried steak and a beer or two. Not likely to happen, but don’t say you weren’t warned.
Great food, great service and spacious place. Will go back for sure!
The chicken fried steak was so tough!
Was great for Easter brunch!
Wonderful biscuits! Lots of creative offerings in a fun and casual setting.
What a wonderful place!!! The outdoor area is scattered with picnic tables and overlooks the Colorado River...it's so peaceful that you won't believe you are just minutes from downtown Austin. The food was delicious and the service was excellent(...and the Bloody Marys were TO DIE FOR!). The only caveat is that parking is really tricky...we went for Easter brunch and the valet was full so the only thing available was street parking along a muddy stretch of E. Cesar Chavez. So your walk to the restaurant is pretty much in the street! Perhaps it's not so much of an issue on a regular day. Already looking forward to our next visit!
Jacobys will always be one of my favorites restaurants. I love taking friends here, going to happy hour, and having date nights. It's a great atmosphere and the food is delicious!
Jacobys had a beautiful view, delicious food and drinks, attentive service, and a great ambiance.
Food would have been better, but had to wait 45 minutes for it and them delivered warm to almost cold.
Overpriced for what you get. Chilies quality and upscaled prices. Steak was below average, salmon had no flavor, burger was ok, nothing special about food. To top it off parking is horrible! I would never go back, nor would I recommend this place to anyone.
