American
Jacob's on the Plaza, located within the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Tallahassee, crafts a comforting and fresh array of classic American cuisine, served in its sophisticated and welcoming setting. The crispy fried green tomatoes topped with a chevre and peppadew jelly and the creamy spin-city artichoke dip served with pita points make tasty and sharable starter options. Some of Jacob's on the Plaza's specialty entrée dishes include the blackened grouper, the creamy chicken alfredo penne pasta, the seared yellowfin ahi tuna with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger and the porterhouse pork barrel chop topped with sautéed cinnamon apples, all of which are prepared to perfection. For a sweet end to your meal, be sure to save room for the decadent pecan or peanut butter power pie a la mode.

Diners also adore Jacob's on the Plaza's daily breakfast, with the choice of delicious, buffet-style fare.

The food was excellent, but very expensive. Save this one for a very special occasion!

We dined here to celebrate our son’s college graduation. He waited at least 10 minutes for his drink (there were only 5 people at the bar, so they weren’t busy). The food was mediocre at best. His shrimp and grits had little to no seasoning and my father-in-law’s lobster was over cooked and rubbery. My daughter ordered a filet medium rare that arrived purple. She sent it back to be cooked a bit more. When it came back , after the rest of us had finished eating, it was still purple and not even warm! Her mashed potatoes had no flavor or seasoning that she could detect. My steak, although well cooked, lacked any seasoning as did the creamed spinach. The appetizers were the only enjoyable part...too bad they arrived 30 seconds before our meals. The waitress did her best, but the timing and talent in the kitchen was sorely lacking.
