Jacob's on the Plaza - Doubletree by Hilton
Diners also adore Jacob's on the Plaza's daily breakfast, with the choice of delicious, buffet-style fare.
The restaurant was fine, prices reasonable, food very good. A very positive experience.
They never received my open table reservation, but accommodated our party regardless
It is really sad to make reservations weeks in advance for Valentine's Day and have to wait 2 hours before the main course arrived. With a prefix menu, one would expect management to know its crowd load and be ready to serve. We had 30-minute wait time between each course AFTER the table was cleared. We stuck it out, paid our bill, and even left a decent tip. However, we will never return again.
Don't bother going unless you are trapped at the Double Tree, sub par food and lousy service
My wife and I went there for dinner. The restaurant was relatively empty. They sat us at a table. After 15 minutes, no one had acknowledged us. We walked out after 15 minutes. The hostess was very friendly and told us to have a great evening as we walked out.
Outstanding place to eat. Food was simply delicious and our server was outstanding and attentive. Lived here all my life and first time I have eaten here and we will be back. A hidden gem for sure!!
Loved the ambience; yeast rolls were "hard" (not soft as I expected); service was extremely slow; not sure why in that the restaurant was not crowed at all. In any case, because the hostess was really nice, as well as our server; and because the food was good, we will give it another try!
The restaurant was nice and we received excellent service from the bartender. However, the server was rude and barely tended to our table. We had to signal to the bartender several times because the waiter refused to provide courteous service.
Good food and service but a dark and gloomy place that needs refreshing. NY strip was high quality beef and very well prepared. Sides were ok.
Our waitress Payton was one of the best we have met during our worldwide travels
I have to first say that i have not had this experience previously at jacob’s. But tonight was my recommendation to friends that i invited for a special night. No one had a great experience. Steaks were cooked at the wrong temperature and overall weren’t executed well. Potatoes were undercooked, it was overall lackluster. Apologies to other staff or nights of service that have been spectacular. But this was not
The restaurant was definitely dated. The food was average. Our shrimp cocktail appetizer was forgotten about until the end of dinner. The server was very sweet & apologetic and did remove it from our bill. Overall dinner was fine but it won't be a place that I will eat at again.
630 reservations… Out of an entree and out of an appetizer - not busy
Temp was hot and humid inside
Steak was red/ ordered med well
Lobster ravioli was not available. Special salmon was dry and scallops were mushy. Salad was great. Waiter was very pleasant.
Went Christmas Eve at 7:45, food was excellent. Service was excellent as well. Will return again and highly recommend.
The food was excellent, but very expensive. Save this one for a very special occasion!
We dined here to celebrate our son’s college graduation. He waited at least 10 minutes for his drink (there were only 5 people at the bar, so they weren’t busy). The food was mediocre at best. His shrimp and grits had little to no seasoning and my father-in-law’s lobster was over cooked and rubbery. My daughter ordered a filet medium rare that arrived purple. She sent it back to be cooked a bit more. When it came back , after the rest of us had finished eating, it was still purple and not even warm! Her mashed potatoes had no flavor or seasoning that she could detect. My steak, although well cooked, lacked any seasoning as did the creamed spinach. The appetizers were the only enjoyable part...too bad they arrived 30 seconds before our meals. The waitress did her best, but the timing and talent in the kitchen was sorely lacking.
Birthday experience was elegant, with great food and wine explanation
