Jackson's Food and Drink
Great family run restaurant
The servers were accommodating to our group as we moved from the bar to the dining area to the outside, back inside and ultimately we settled on outside dining. I appreciate their patience and good humor. The waitress made great recommendations, and we were very satisfied with out drink and food choices. I have already recommended Jackson’s to others, will certainly dine there again.
This is currently the only restaurant within walking distance of the ArcLight theatre. They have a diverse menu. Fair warning, when they say that something is spicy, they are not kidding. Remember what you ordered because when the food shows up the runners have no idea who gets what. We were not the only group on the patio. It can get very loud.
Don't waste your time or $$$. Service was terrible, the main course came our before our appetizers, and the Black Cod was so bad, it was inedible. Clearly am old piece of fish.
We brought our friends to Jackson's after a movie night. It is our favorite place to go to after the movies, as the Arclight Beach Cities is right next door. Great food, cocktails and service. We'll be back soon!
Had a wonderful evening. Food was excellent, as was the service. We were never rushed. The short ribs were incredible!
The food was delicious and the service was great.
As always, a wonderful experience
This place is a wonderful spot for before or after movies at the theater across the plaza. They understand the importance of efficient service to get you to the show on time, and the food is excellent. We especially enjoyed the poached egg, pancetta, mushroom and asparagus appetizer and the ceviche. Nice wine list, too.
I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I usually get the Miso Cod but the last time I had it the texture was slimy. I thought this was a one off but we came to eat dinner the other night before a movie and our dinner was just plain awful. I had the linguine because I wanted something comforting. I specifically asked the server if the shrimp option was flavorful shrimp that was cooked and seasoned well not just sautéed with no flavor...she assured me it was...it was not. My husband had the Gaucho which again, came at my recommendation because I'd eaten it previously. It wasn't good at all. The steak was extremely fatty and was not prepared properly at all. We also ordered the Brussel Sprouts and they were overly sweet and watery not roasted. I am so disappointed because I love Jackson's but now I've been bitten twice. The cocktails are still creative and yummy so maybe this will just be a spot to meet friends for drinks going forward.
The cocktails were excellent; the corn appetizer was excellent. Everything else, including the service, was disappointing. And it wasn't crowded! I ordered the broccoli salad. It wasn't a salad; it was a stir fry.
I’ve come here numerous times over the past couple years. The food is great and this place is close to work. There was quite a bit of construction going on outside the restaurant today with quite a bit of noise, which is why I ranked the ambiance lower than I usually would.
A casual burger and ceviche
place. Great for before or after a movie at Arclight El Segundo.
I've had wonderful meals here in the past, but the restaurant (food and service) was not up to snuff on this most recent occasion.
Sunday and Monday are family nights with special menu of reduced price entrees with appetisers and deserts included and served buffet-style which made dinner festive -- and is the regular outstanding quality.
As usual reception and service were most friendly and warm. Food creativity and freshness were excellent and well described by server. While fast and efficient there was no hurrying.
Their fillet mignon risotto = the best risotto EVER!!!
Mediocre food at a high price
With all the great options in MB don’t feel the need to go here again
Warm reception and immediate seating -- most friendly waitress accomodating to menu discussion and recommendations.
We've been coming here for dinner the last few years whenever we go to see a movie the Arclight. The last few times we had dinner here (usually on a Friday night), the service was spotty (but friendly!) and the kitchen was backed up with our food taking much longer than usual. The food has always been a little hit or miss, but and lately it's been much more of a miss. The chef (Scott) obviously has a passion for the food — he's a very nice guy who often comes out and says hello — but there are definitely some issues in terms of service/back of house that need to be addressed. I'm not sure what's going on and I would love to see Jackson's have continued success, but with two new restaurants opening up next door in a couple months — they need to step up their game and make sure their service and food are consistent and high quality.
Good happy hour
Not sure if I'd recommend or not. My girl and I had to catch a movie so we had to leave before we could get our food. From what I could tell the place seemed nice. It wasn't super busy. However, I felt the service was very slow. Even to get my cocktail took a long time.
people came in after us got thier food right away. When we inquired about this we were told it was because they ordered burgers, caeser salad, and small plates. We ordered the Miso Cod and a Caeser salad. Evidently this takes a while. My bad for forgetting to mention I had a movie to catch. We ordered fish thinking it would be quick. Yet, we were there for 50 min and our order was still not out. We had to bail and have popcorn for dinner. Perhaps the cod takes a long time to prepare. If so, it would have been good to make us aware of this when we ordered.
the menu looked good and I liked the place. I'd like to try one more time when I have a little more run way. However, even without the movie, service was noticably slow.
Always solid. Great food, great setting and wonderful service!
Excellent food and service! I would recommend to all!
The food was amazing!! This is my second time at this restaurant, the service is great the food is amazing even their garlic sauce is to die for. Loved it, will definitely be going back
Great food and service. Very creative menu.
Horrible experience! We were sat by the bar area even though I request not to be seated there. Manager offered me a desert in exchange for the inconvenience 🙄
Food was cold and I found a disgusting hair in my food. So disappointed!!! Never going back .
Our first time there. We were seated promptly. Our server was helpful and the food was very tasty. We tried the Filet Mignon Risotto. It was very good. We ordered burgers and chicken dishes as our main dishes and all enjoyed them as well. We'll be back again.
The food was, as usual, fantastic. Service was super and had a great conversation with Scott, the owner. Always a great time.
Great food. Terrific atmosphere. So so waiter. Love the place anyway.
Food was delicious and service was amazing. We ended up closing the place down and never once did the staff act like we were an inconvenience. They were just as friendly and helpful as they were when we arrived. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous.
Had not been to Jackson’s in quite a while and I must say they have upped their food game. I had the miso cod, my husband had the salmon and both were tasty and cooked perfectly. My request to get spinach rather than cucumber salad was politely accommodated. We brought our own wine and were happy to find the corkage fee is only $10. A definite bargain! Lastly, they are one of the few places in the South Bay that serve affogato - my absolute favorite dessert. We’ll be back!
Pros- good place to meet friends after work. Close to the movie theater. Cocktails are decent! Food is tasty. Cons- Wait staff is slow and not attentive. Due to the lack of attentiveness, when we tried ordering an additional happy hour drink waitress said it was past happy hour (which we knew but hey you never came back to us and checked on us). The restaurant was busy but not busy enough not get checked on. The deals are not great for happy hour, but aren’t horrible either.
Food was delicious, but service was terrible. After receiving our drinks and a couple appetizers, the server didn't return to our table for 45 minutes. After several requests for someone to take our dinner order, she stopped by our table. This was the worst service that I have experienced in quite some time.
The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We were waiting to drop off our daughter at LAX and this restaurant was close. Service was not the greatest but the food was good. I would probably go again if we needed to kill time, but would not go out of my way to return
As always, the food was excellent, the service was terrific, and special accommodations were made for someone in our group with dietary restrictions. Delicious menu!
Unfortunately, my 2nd time here & still not a good experience, both with food & service. I love the ambience of this place so I want to like it, but I just can’t. Food was bland and the service was terrible.
Tasty food and great service like always! We had some apps, e.g. the Risotto was pretty awesome, and then the Miso Cod as our main ... all was delish! Some weirdness to my cocktails this time ... ordered a Tito's and soda and just got a Tito's and then when I asked for some soda just a weird tall glass of soda, but if that's the toughest thing I could say, not too bad .... great place, always good and tasty with great service!
Had a reservation, we were seated rather promptly. Server David was excellent- funny, just the right level of attentive and offered good recommendations. Our picky family of 4 ate every bite that was served, good reviews by all. A great stop before catching a film at the next door ArcLight Cinemas, allow at least 90 minutes so as not to be rushed.
