Jackson Brewery Bistro Bar is in the French Quarter of New Orleans, LA. It is a popular place to grab some great beer and have a fantastic meal. You will find that the eatery is casual and offers a fun and vibrant atmosphere. The eatery has a changing menu, which should always have quite a few tasty treats on it for the patrons.
Jackson Brewery Bistro Bar is no longer an actual brewery, but you can still find some great beers to go with your food. It provides some great local craft beers. Jackson Brewery Bistro Bar is nice for a quiet lunch or dinner, a gathering with friends or even a reception.
I was very disappointed in the ambience!!! My girlfriends and I showed up to dine and celebrate my birthday at this restaurant and turned completely around especially when we saw the second floor! It was a mess and out of order! The patio/deck was the same. What we saw in person was nothing close to what is pictured on the website! We were hoping to make this a business we can frequent, but nah!
They did not close down their reservations on open table or in house, I made a reservation for the 4th, had I not called I would have never known. They didn't offer any type of consolation for it. If you have special events that should be the first thing you remember to do.
The food was wonderful! Service was a bit slow. Our order was not correct.
Jackson Brewery is no longer a brewery. We were there at 7PM the place was empty the service was slow and the menu was small. Not a place to have dinner. Maybe a beer or two. We ordered a mixed appetizer plate which was very below average.
Do not go here if you want authentic anything.
we got there and they said they did not see our reservation... after checking otu the menu.. there was not a very big selection we left!
I went here with a group of friends for dinner on Saturday night. Service was VERY slow, the food order came out wrong, and the server seemed really stressed and flustered (despite the fact that there was hardly anyone there). We ended up getting a round if drinks free and 50% off our bill.
There was no one in the restaurant aside from our party, which was a 11 person bachelorette party. The swrvice was poor and the food did not make up for it. I would never go back and I would only recommend to an enemy. It seems that it is more of a night club atmosphere and less of a restaurant which would have been good to know before hand.
Thanks for a great Saints Game Day experience!!!
I asked for a list of the beers they brew. They no longer brew beer but had some local beers on tap. The hummus appetizer was good, but the burger was not. There was a wedding reception upstairs and that may have affected the service. But in New Orleans, where there are so many great food options, skip this one.
insufficient and/or inefficient restaurant staff was unable to serve or prepare meals for 33 people who had reservations....handed out 2 different menus for dinner....kitchen ran out of at least 2 entrée items.....kept serving one table beers that were not ordered...a total embarrassment to the group's host....
Soooo many other better options in Nola. This is a bar, atmosphere was awful. Service was slow, waitstaff nice but very inexperienced. Food was mediocre at best. Will not go back.
This is a seedy type bar with a few small restaurant tables. The service was non-existent at first, so I just sat at the bar and even then had to wait for the bartender to finish her personal conversation with the only other customer in the place. She seemed fairly new. Menu is nothing to rave about, so I just ordered a hamburger which was okay but nothing spectacular. The bread pudding was pretty good but very sweet. Don't believe I will be returning.
Overall the service was great until we got to the end of the meal. Our sever handed us a bill (for a table of 17 might I add) and told me she could not split the bill because we did not ask her to at the beginning of the meal. She never asked. It became a hassle and completely ruined the experience.
There's was no waitress and you had to order your food at the bar. Lobster bisque was barely Luke warm, and the salad was filled with croutons. A bad choice on my part with all the wonderful restaurants in New Orleans. I will never return to this restaurant.
Not open on certain days but still takes reservations. Call first to confirm your reservation.
Booked reservation through open table and was told they did not have any available tables. Had to sit at bar, which was not what I wanted.
I felt like we were bothering them for saying we made a reservation on Open Table. Before we could even tell them we made reservations, they tried to get us to leave saying it was a two hour wait. Once they finally pushed together a random table for us, the service was extremely slow. We waited about 30 minutes just to do drink orders.
Service was aweful and ambience was worse. It was 35 degrees outside but our server refused to close the front door because the owner prefered to "keep the door open." The server only rarely addressed our needs and delivered our bill before our desert. What a shame for such a good location.
Great food music a little to loud
did not care for the music.....the food was outstanding, talapia, filet...Think the waiter forgot about us for a while.....service was good after we questioned the lack thereof.....
Good location, good food. Nothing spectacular but certainly repeatable.
I took a group of 8 high school kids and 3 adults here on a Monday around 6pm. We were pretty much the only people in the restuarant, which I felt was strange. We got a big table we could sit at as a group, which was nice, and our waitress was a really sweet girl. The food was reasonably priced and tasted great. The menu also had plenty of variety and included some New Orleans favorites, which was fun. However, the food took nearly an hour to come out, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. We had to repeat our orders many times when they kept bringing out the wrong thing, and they even charged us for a plate that we didn't order but they brought by mistake. When our bill came we had to make 3-4 corrections.
great food, in a town known for great food! Love the Duck Bomb appetizer!
Really is more of a bar than a restaurant, expect that type of food and service.
The food was excellent, and considering we were there on the 4th of July when you can see the fireworks from the balcony, I didn't expect spectacular service, but it was atrocious. I know the restaurant was packed, however, we missed half the fifteen minute fireworks show because after disappearing for 45 minutes our waiter showed back up to deal with our checks mid-show and then could not manage to split them for us (I was with a group of friends), and actually gave us grief for wanting it done this way when we spent a considerable amount of money there already. I expected more. But too be fair, the service and food would probably both be excellent on any normal night.
More of a club than a restaurant. Food took forever and wasn't that good. Wait staff wasn't great either. Hopefully the longer they are open, the better they get the kinks out.
Unfortunately, the restaurant is more of a nightclub than fine dinning. Our reservation was at 8:30pm and we were sat outside next to the air conditioner which was extremely loud so we asked to be moved. Our waiter was trying very hard to accomodate us, but it was difficult because the inside areas were playing very loud music, and the outdoor areas were poorly lit and very loud. We decided to just have appitizers and leave, but the food was decent and our waiter did try very hard.
Overall, I would not recommend this to families or groups wanting to have a pleasant time. Jax is more of a late night grab an appitizer type.
If you're looking for average food at average prices in a warehouse setting with a brain rattling, eardrum bursting club music level, this is the place for you. Great place to to if you want to rule out conversation and if you have a high tolerance for ear pain.
Great place, great bartender brian.
Nice to have an affordable option without all of the gimmicks of Decatur Street. Very nice atmosphere.
Simply put, not a brewery and definitely not a bistro!
Great service ! Very attentive and accomodating. Food was very good but not exceptional but did not expect that. Outstanding selection of beer; especially local brews.
We were disappointed with the restaurant. It was really a club/bar that tried to be a restaurant before the late-night crowd came. There were three things on the menu that our group ordered only to be told they were out of it. Vegetarian options didn't exist. Our group were the only people in the restaurant and when we asked for the outside doors to be shut because we were cold (it was about 45 degrees out), we were told they couldn't do that because the manager would be upset. A disappointing experience.
Awesome venue - pleasant staff, beautiful views of Mississippi
