   Beautiful outdoor space and excellent food. My daughter loved her crème brûlée and the staff was so friendly.

   Our first visit was on Mothers Day. Service was friendly and prompt. The dining room at the rear was spacious and comfortable. The menu offered a number of choices, and the food was delicious.

   Mediocre service and bad food unfortunately more than offset the ambiance in this neighborhood restaurant. We made a reservation after walking by and seeing the patio, and now wish we didn’t. We had to ask for silverware AFTER our food was dropped off, water glasses were always empty, and almost all of the food seemed like it came from a freezer bag. Stale bread, stale crackers, over-salted dishes with no other flavor… We ended up finishing half of our meal and then just going elsewhere on our walk home… and the bill was still $150. Very disappointing.

   Best French food! Recently redone menu and new wait staff- this venue has tweaked their offerings & service , so definitely come and try them out. They have 3 out door seating areas - the front bar area, the atrium in the back and the side outside area in the back as well. Lovely atmosphere with live music on weekends . Great for private events or birthday dinners or girls nights. Their beed bourgenion & coq au vin is fantastic over root vegetables with great escargot and crab cakes- their burgers are even darn good! Love the vibe and lovely owners - you won’t regret it.

   Best French food in Chicago! With a recently revamped menu courtesy of an actual authentic French Chef- Jacks has stepped up its game on food, service and ambiance . We love coming here and look forward to their delicious menu - the French onion soup , escargot and crab cakes are great options to start - not too salty , and irresistibly delicious. The beef Wellington entree is one of the best I’ve ever had ( even better than Alinea’s) and the coq au vin is amazing with a great twist over root vegetables. Additionally my wife loves the beef bourguignon which is just enough food without feeling too fatty or salty. They do a darn good job at desserts as well. In the summer they have an outdoor area both in the front , back and side - so don’t let the front dining room area fool you. This is also a place I would consider for a private party too I’m the future. The live music is great and varies so be sure to make a reservation on those nights ( typically Friday and Saturday ).

   Our second visit & we sat in the lovely back room. Service was not as good as on a prior visit. We look forward to returning in the summer when the back room roof will be open.

   Live music was wonderful but did make it difficult to hear my partner whenever they played. Also made it difficult to fully understand our server. The steak was pretty good, but the house fries resembled those from McDonald’s to not just me but my partner as well.

    Food and service were excellent The menu for restaurant week was excellent with many choices. The menu for restaurant week was reasonably priced for the amount of food that was served.
