We came here for my sisters birthday, and they did not even acknowledge that because our food arrived 45 mins late. Our serve didn’t apologize. The food selection was very limited and did not taste great especially after waiting that long period of time. Will not be dining here. This was my first time in PDX.
Wasn't really impressed for the price paid. Husband had the local trout which was delicious. I had the fresh fish (ling cod) felt to me to be a tad under done and mild in taste. We also ordered the house potatoes which were delicious. Don't get me wrong the food was pretty good but I feel was a bit pricey. I wouldn't go back.
The service was great from the moment we stepped inside the door. Food was also on point. Their bread..it sounds weird..was amazing. Grilled to perfection and pillowy soft. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we will be back!
Food was awesome but the noise level was WAY TOO LOUD for me!
We were at Jackrabbit during Portland Dining Month and ate from that menu. The root vegetable soup, which we both had as the first course, was very good. My husband had the chicken which was excellent, while my mushroom tagliatelle was solid but not exceptional. The highlight of the meal was dessert: the lemon bars were outstanding. Service was very good.
It was really great! Wow! We had a fantastic birthday dinner for my husband and our closest besties. The tasting menu for Portland dining month accommodated our veg friends as well as those who eat meat. We will definitely come back.
Food was very yummy. We had the $20 in 20 lunch special which is billed as 3 courses: Soup or Salad, one of two sandwiches or the daily fish and a cookie to go. Reality is its one plate. I had the salad, daily fish. Courses imply that the salad comes first, then the fish, perhaps with a side, and then the cookie to go. The salad and fish were on the same plate. We were all a little confused but rolled with it. The salad was dressed well and the fish cooked perfectly. They obviously know how to make the food. They just need to have better description on the menu, or the wait staff needs to clarify.
Lovely service for sure!
Waiter took away plates every course despite the fact one of us was still eating. We felt very rushed despite it being empty on a Tuesday night. Bit of a disappointment overall
My first time here and can't wait to go back. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. Waitress even apologized on behalf of the staff when spoon didnt come with my soup, not that I was even looking for one. She went above and beyond..made wonderful recommendations including capping my meal off with one of the best dessert wines I've tasted. I told her to surprise me and that price wasn't an option..obviously the easy thing to do here would have been to bring one of the more expensive ones. Instead she brought me an exquiste wine that was well worth every cent of the middle range price of $9, was very good value..tasted like it could have been more!
Portland dining month offering. Server was great in suggesting dairy free/vegetarian options. Good choice of local wines. Salad had way too much pepper. Pasta was good. Very busy and noisy, would not return on a saturday night.
The ambiance was really nice, and the noise level not overwhelming at all. The background music was also quite nice.
Food: Our iceberg lettuce salad was really disappointing. The dressing didn’t have the right punch to make it outstanding. It needed either a good blue cheese or buttermilk dressing to make it decent. Our main courses were delicious, however. I had the chicken, which was a really moist chicken breast, with wonderfully crispy skin. The accompanying vegetables were delicious. My friend had the tagliatelle, which was also delicious. For dessert we chose the lemon tart, which I thought was very nice and refreshing. It wasn’t too sweet, had the right amount of tartness to it.
Service: disappointingly slow. We were on a schedule due to show tickets. First, we waited a long time for drinks. Then we waited more than 10 minutes to receive our main course after we finished the salad. I had to remind the waitress that we were on a timeline. She said she would bring our dessert and check out quickly when our main was served. Neither happened, and we had to flag down someone to assist us. Then when she passed us by as we were about to leave, she denied ever having said she would get our dessert and bill quickly. That was extremely annoying and disappointing.
Drinks were great, food was great, service was fantastic! We’ll definitely be back.
You make a reservation AHEAD of time for a party of 5 so you don’t get an awkward thrown together spot with a chair in the MIDDLE of the walkway!
Our server was well-informed and fun to chat with. We enjoyed the Portland dining month menu as well as a couple extras.
We were curious about Chris Cosentino's restaurant and decided to try it out. We did the $33 Dining Month menu and my husband and I tried all the options. I had the wedge salad which was a little dry for me, I asked for extra dressing and it was thick. It had good flavor but since I'm not a fan of spicy food, the salad had jalapenos sprinkled over it. The root vegetable soup was amazing. I had the pasta with the mushrooms which was just as delicious as the chicken entree. We all agreed the lemon tart stole the show. My husband who doesn't usually like lemon loved the tart with the shortbread crust and burnt meringue.
Wonderful drinks and atmosphere. Went there before a show and we were glad that we reserved our table earlier than normal because it filled up quickly and while our service was quite good I could see where it was slowing down for others. However, we had the butcher special that evening which was the pork shoulder, wonderful!!
Very interesting menu, good service.
A last minute find for breakfast and it was wonderful. A wonderfully quirky menu with amazing food and great service.
Went to celebrate the engagement of our friends! Great services at awesome atmosphere-strongly recommended!
Arrived to find the restaurant was hosting a private party in back and so we could not get a regular height table and had to take a café table. It was 10 minutes before we even got water. I had to wave down another waiter and ask who our server was (Sarah B). The menu in open table was not up-to-date. I was really looking forward to halibut and they instead had another fish on the menu. When I asked our waitress she said that was last month. When we finally decided on a different order, we were told the half chicken takes 25 to 30 minutes which was not noted on the menu. So back to the drawing board. I ordered the steak and she told me they were out of that cut but they were substituting a different cut of meat. So at this point I just took that and asked for medium rare. When it arrived it was blue, more raw than even rare. I showed her several pieces that I had cut and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen. She said there was another medium rare resting and that they would advance that to me. Once I got it several minutes later while my partner dined, the steak was absolutely delicious. Not worth the wait but it was in fact delicious. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Great experience. The food was very well prepared, and the 20 for 20 lunch special did not disappoint! Will definitely visit again!
Overall good, service lacked attention.
Service was terrible. Food was way over-priced. The pasta was bland. We were seated at 5:45 and did not get our food until after 7:15. All meals were brought at the same time, except one.
Great, great food. Luscious cocktails and a decent but small wine list. My only complaint would be that the tables are so close together it's hard to have a private conversation. But over all, a must visit restaurant.
We thought the food was very creative and delicious. We planned a reservation for 5:30 p.m. to allow plenty of time to enjoy a nice dinner to make a theater performance starting at 7:30 p.m. We were confused and mystified how they let our dinner lag. When 6:35 arrived and we still had not received our starter course salads we knew we were in for a very fast and hurried dinner. We had to rush through our entree and still barely made opening curtain. Even though we told our wait person we were headed to theater (as were many other diners) it just seemed the kitchen could not keep up with the demand. I would think twice before booking another reservation before a concert or theater performance. Otherwise a very nice place. You must ask for a banquette when you make a reservation to be able to sit there.
The food was great. The service was spectacular. We had a party of 11. The staff was wonderfully accommodating.
The rabbit was delicious! Would definitely come back again.
To start out, the main restaurant area was mostly empty. There were maybe 8 other people in the area. There was a side room that was mostly full.
After being seated for 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, I had to find a waitor to help us out. He took our beverages order, and they were received quickly. Food was ordered, and received somewhat quickly. My friend ordered a quiche and it was cold. She asked for it to be warmed up. It was, but it took 10 minutes and was delivered by a very sweet waitress who was very apologetic. However, the quiche was lukewarm at best. She checked on us a couple times, whereas our waiter checked on us once.
Overall, it is a nice place. This was my second visit and the service both times was subpar. My food order was good; the quiche wasn't so good. The green juice was enjoyed by both of us. In a town with so many great food choices, this was very mediocre.
Great Sunday brunch
The brunch is amazing. There are some very special items such as the savory waffle, or red flannel hash. However if you prefer a more traditional breakfast the flapjacks are fluffy and delicious. One of the best parts is that we can get in without in one of those horrible brunch lines you find at most spots on the weekend. The service is always on point. It is great for a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion or some place to go have a low key brunch on your own.
Food was good, but service was lacking. We went a couple 15-minute stretches without seeing our waitress at all. For the price, expected more attention.
Excellent food recommend the seaffod. The Vietnamese salad was amazing lots of flavors. Nice experience.
My partner and I visited Jackrabbit to celebrate our anniversary and an early Valentine’s day. They were able to accommodate us earlier than our 5:30pm reservation.
Drink-wise, my partner ordered Fallen Roses, which she was very happy about. I took a sip and it was very good. Highly recommend.
We ordered the delicious Delicata Squash Salad, which we shared. For the “Suppers”, we ordered the Bertha Roasted Chicken and Bacon Chop. Both VERY well portioned and delicious.
Service was very friendly and attentive. We did not catch our server’s name, but she was very attentive and friendly and very knowledgable of the menu, food and drink.
I would highly recommend Jackrabbit if you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion.
Outstanding quality of food and service!!!
Food was good and creative EXCEPT - it was very salty.
Should have requested for dressing to be on the side -
Potatoes were very salty.
Excellent customer service - THANK YOU.
JACK RABBIT never disappoints! Had a great breakfast meeting. The space and food were amazing as well as the staff. GREAT SPOT for morning business....
21st Birthday for son
In town to visit our college adult kids and took them to dinner. Great place. Everyone that touched our table was amazing. From getting seated to the wine specialist to our server. Oysters are amazing, E I E O Pinot Noir YUM, you need a minimum of 4 people....the Pin Steak to share share is amazing. You cannot go wrong. My only complaint, it was too warm in the restaurant from the minute I walked in. BUT none the less. Must go!!!
Roasted Chicken and Pork Chop were out of this world! Can’t wait till next time.
