Overall not great. Made a reservation ahead of time for two, but we still ended up waiting 20 -
30 min for a table. The overall service from the bar & our server was very poor. We almost left before ordering our meal because it took forever for our server to simply take our drink order & even longer for the drinks to arrive. Food was average. Everything felt rushed & extremely loud. We left as soon as we could.

My wife and I to Jackrabbit for our Anniversary dinner recently and had a good time. I can't say the food was a great value, and thus the reason for the review.

While there, we both had cocktails, several appetizers , and salads to start things off. For dinner, she ordered the Fideo pasta dish, I had the Striploin and we shared the roasted cauliflower as a side. We finished with a grasshopper ganache for dessert. The salad was simple but delicious, and the appetizers were interesting but very small in portion. The pasta dish was very interesting with great flavor, but the portion was small and the plating was unfortunate very uninspired. My Striploin was prepared well with good flavor, and served with fresh sauteed spinach and mushrooms. This was a simple but good dish. The cauliflower was good, but really not much more than the sum of it's parts.

Overall, the service was good and the meal enjoyable, but it we didn't feel the dishes were creative enough to warrant the cost or the small portions. The atmosphere is nice for a hotel restaurant, and we will definitely return for a beer or a cocktail with happy hour oysters.

A special thanks to our server Dana, who was helpful and attentive even on the heels of a very busy New Years Eve.

It took four hours to eat. Wait was so long we were brought pig ears complementary to snack on while we waited for our food. The chicken was not fully cooked. A new order was provided but took about one hour to arrive and was still undercooked. All I drank was water and my glass was refilled once in the four hours after it had been empty for awhile.

Horrible experience!!! Worst 2017 restaurant experience. Food was average to poor. Prices were high; really out of line considering the quality. Staff was aggressively arrogant. Service was slow in general and bar service in particular.

After watching other tables send food back to the kitchen we opted for appetizers rather than risk any of the main courses. Our oysters were just ok though poorly shucked. Ham option was uninspired with little to distinguish one from the other. Deviled eggs were tasteless.

So, 4 people spent $200 for a couple drinks and 3 appetizers. Really disappointed and see no reason to ever return.

This is a good restaurant, food has a lot of flavor. Small mistakes like cold food and poor timing for service, the server is asked to do a lot with very little help. Drinks are ok but I have seen better. This is a one and done visit for me. There is a lot of competition out there and if they don't fix a few things my prediction is this place may not be around in the next couple of years.

I've been to Cockscomb in San Fran and the service and food there were impeccable, too bad I can't say the same for Jack Rabbit. We were there for two hours, had lousy service and my steak was unseasoned and undercooked (rare). I will say that the pig's ears and my husband's trout were delicious. I was just expecting a better experience and ended up leaving very disappointed and hungry.

Our first time here and I was looking forward to trying a new place. I ordered the branzino on the special New Year's menu and did not understand I would be getting the whole fish - not even filleted when served! It also took over 70 minutes to get our food and the restaurant was not full. Our waitress offered to fillet my fish for me, which I agreed to, but there were so many bones left in it that I couldn't eat much at all. I will add that my dates smoked trout was very good so it wasn't all bad.

From the easy parking to dessert - all wonderful. After parking in the lot in the same building I arrived at the main floor. I asked the concierge to guide me to the restaurant and he not only walked me there but also gave me a card that entitled me to a free appetizer. I sat at the chef's table and had lovely conversations with the two chefs. My gratis appetizer was the deviled eggs. Delicious. Accompanied by a glass of Oregon bubbly wine. Main was superb trout with fingerling potatoes. More sparkling wine. Dessert was recommended by one of the chefs and was unique - fig cake with shavings of gouda cheese and toffee crumble. So savory and perfect. The only slight gaffe was my server not bringing me a glass of port - but she made sure to remove it from the bill. All this for $75.00 which I thought was reasonable given the high caliber of the food. I will be back with friends because I want to try some of the large format dishes. A wonderful meal and great way to end the year.

The food was great , but the service could be better. It was my birthday and my anniversary was 2 days before my birthday and my experience was not goid, I am sorry! I can start with my mom's drink, she chose a cocktail wirhour alcojol, it was the special for the day and when she ordered , she and I told to the server that NO ice or please 1 ice cube will be okay. The drink came with 8 cubes of ice, so I told the server but not initiative so my mom and I started to try to take out all the ice and put in a plate, my husband at the same rime wanted to give back but he was looking n observing all the servers, after took the ice cubes, mom's drink was less than half cup and the server back took the food order and nothing, nobody did none to fix it. My husband n I know good Restaurants and we were disappointed with Jackrabbit which I was the one that chose. I just think at least a small cumpliment for mom due the situation (when they made the mistake putting ice when we asked NO ICE) or for my birthday, but anyways it seems to my husband and I that the servers are kind not too much experience.

Amazing cocktails. Food was a bit overpriced for the lack of seasoning and just general skill - my duck dish had underseasoned accoutrements (no salt on the beans or celeriac puree) and there was literally raw, undressed kale leaves thrown on top. The pasta dish my partner got was fine, a little broken and buttery sauce but still good. The starters were great. But the real highlight was the cocktails- we'll be returning for those alone. The service was also excellent from both the server and what I'm guessing were BOH employees. Overall, a nice place. I'd give the food a second chance, for sure.

My friend was a guest early December. She reported half their meal was delicious (chicken) and half (trout) was terrible.

Biggest drawback for them was the SERVICE. It was crowded, but wait times for drinks and food were untenable.

Flash forward to our Christmas Eve meal. We had the same experience.

Crab spaghettini delicious. Killed our hamburger... Really? Burgers should be easy, IMHO.

Drinks and replacement burger took FOREVER, and restaurant only had three active tables seated. Bar may have had 6 guests. Our server was dismissive (Pennsylvania). Really a disappointing "special occasion" experience.

You have a good concept there, but need to get your kitchen/bar/server work-flow overhauled, and fast.

Best part of the evening was our stay in the hotel.

Staff seemed very unhappy to be there, but it was Christmas Eve, so maybe they get a pass? Still, we wanted a nice brunch and it was so-so at best. Hostess rushed us in so fast that she didn’t bother with the fact that I told her I had a reservation. This led to OpenTable thinking we didn’t show up. Wait staff was not terribly helpful or friendly and took a long time to get coffee/drinks despite that there were few customers. When our meal was delivered, the server literally acted angry and just set our food on the table and walked off. We had to stop her to ask for more coffee and mimosas (because no one was asking or noticing our glasses were empty) and she was clearly annoyed. “Sure”, she said with discontent. The one nice thing was the gentleman clearing tables and bringing water. He was pleasant, nice, and took some time to say a few friendly words. By the end of the meal, the staff seemed to warm up a bit, but the experience had already gone down the tubes. I don’t know if this experience is typical of Jackrabbit, but we won’t be returning.

We scheduled a company holiday lunch for a small group of 7 people and had what may be one of the worst dining experiences imaginable. It took 20 minutes before our waitstaff person came by to say hello. She was unable to look anyone in the face when taking their order and her attention to us worsened from there. We never saw her again until I finally stood up to get her attention after 45 minutes and asked about our food. We were told it would be a few minutes. 10 minutes later all orders showed but one. This person had to wait another 15 minutes which was 1 hour and 5 minutes after our order was taken. Long wait during lunch. Not once did the wait staff ask to replenish our beverages, keep us updated on our 50 minute wait for lunch or check back on how our meals tasted. We asked for a condiment which never came. Management comped the meal, but we will never return.

I came here for brunch on a weekend. The menu is fantastic, and the amount of food I had for what I paid was great. The whole fried chicken(and the housemade hot sauce), as well as the buttermilk pancakes were absolutely amazing!

It was a delightful first visit for lunch. All of our choices from the interesting menu we delicious - nothing (including how tea and honey are served) disappointed. Especially the service - our waitress was very attentive without being cloyingly friendly or interrupting our conversation to ask if everything was alright. It wa such an enjoyable experience I am taking my husband to check out their Happy Hour in the comfy new lounge area, and just a day after my lunch. Good job guys!

Music was way way way to loud my wife and I could hardly hear each other talk.Twice we ask to have the music turned down and it was not done.Great food but noise level of music way to loud and the restaurant was only half full. While we were waiting to be seated 3 people in booth got up and left before ordering because of the music. So it is not a place for romantic trist or for conversational dinner too bad.

Average experience. Seated late for reservation. After ordering took an hour + to get our food. Very slow service, understaffed. We had finished a cocktail and our bottle of wine before food arrived. Suggest ordering an appetizer. Halibut overdone but chicken delicious. Cool ambiance & lobby bar is a great place esp if you like gin but they need to get their service in order.

Hackrabbit... I had high hopes for this restaurant due to the association with its celebrity chef. So much so, that I took friends there who were visiting from China who frequent Michelin-rated restaurants often, while traveling. Although I cannot speak for the entrées, the shared 'Special' was not on par with even mediocre Portland dining. The shared meal consisted of a pork loin (overcooked and under-flavored) with breaded rock (or other small-sized) shrimp, shellfish and mushrooms. The rock shrimp tasted like popcorn shrimp from a fast food restaurant and we left most of them behind. The shellfish was fine. The mushrooms were decent but very spicy, not fitting with any other part of the mostly bland meal. There was a duck Au Jus that was tasty and helped make the pork more edible but overall, this meal was a strike out. The salad we ate prior was weak, the ham appetizer (Around the World in 8 Hams) was weak, the deviled eggs were a strange texture and although interesting, not something I would recommend. I was embarrassed to have wasted one of only a few nights out with my friends, at this restaurant. I'll try it again with entrées on the next go-around and hopefully, I can leave a more favorable review. Everyone can have a bad night; maybe that was the case, last weekend.

We selected Jackrabbit for its walking distance to the Schnitz. Atmosphere and décor is really great, staff were very responsive. Very nice place, and casual elegance is a good descriptor. We do not generally go out to dinner and to spend $100.00 for dinner is a big deal for us and a once a year occurrence at best.

We had a reservation at Jackrabbit and some tables were lingering so we were asked to wait at the bar. A few minutes later, a manager came over, apologized profusely and bought the drinks in front of us and a second round. Shortly thereafter we were ushered to our table. Service was exceptional at the bar as well as in the dining room. The Butcher’s Choice of the day was a great take on Cassoulet, the deviled eggs were outstanding and the half-she’ll oysters were very fresh. The Tombo Crudo was wonderful and also very fresh. Overall, it was a delightful evening.

The food has been outstanding each time I've been here. A highlight is the French onion soup, which comes with a hunk of bone + marrow stood up in it, and a special spoon to extract all the goodness. Sublime. The trout special was popular with my lunch group, and the assembly of herbs and vegetables to accompany was inspired.

My only complaint has to do with the service. I've been here twice before with acceptable but somewhat disaffected service, but this last visit was not acceptable. Despite that I had made a reservation several days in advance for a party of 5, we were largely ignored once the initial visit to our table occurred. There was not a sense that they staff noticed or cared that we were being neglected. Our food cam out super fast, and it was delicious. The dessert (a cheesecake) was just so-so. I'd like to be able to make this a go-to business lunch on my circuit, but I cannot unless the service comes up, which is unfair to the food.

Took my wife here for a birthday dinner. She had the 28 day aged striploin and I had the stuffed trout. They were fantastic! Our favorite drinks were the beet and gin cocktail (Mill Ends) and the rye and cinar cocktail (Bespoke). They were very well balanced, spiced, spirit forward, perfect.

This is a very good restaurant, we shared the rabbit and thought is was very good and different from our normal fare. The cocktails were also very different from anything we have experienced, but they were tasty. The only negative was the tables are very close together. We could hear everything our neighbors said and they could hear us. I wouldn't recomend this place for a serious discussion.
