From the appetizers through the entrees, everything was ridiculously good. The bartender was able to make an excellent mocktail for my husband and the waitress suggested a lovely wine for my father.
The pacing was slow but it was nice to kind of sit and savor an exceptional and original meal.
The only thing that fell flat to me was the desserts. We tried three, a baked pear, a flourless chocolate cake and a bay leaf panacotta. The baked pear was fine and the bayleaf won points for originality of flavor. The flourless chocolate cake had a TON of coffee (ground espresso bean maybe) and had a great texture but was quite bitter (my coffee-obsessed husband did enjoy it though).
EAT HERE! Holy crap the mains and appetizers were so good I do not even care. We will DEFINITELY return. Just not for dessert.
Server was rude and inattentive. Had to wait for a long time and upon asking where our drunks were, he was defensive and didn’t care. We had a large group of 10 and he already had his gratuity added on so didn’t really care about the service.
Brunch at Jackrabbit is always a treat. The Loco Moco is outstanding and a Hawaiian Island recommend.
Love the rabbits here!!! Amazing
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. The food and service were excellent. The cocktails and wine list are both great. The ambiance is nice: it’s a very comfortable place to spend an evening.
Thanksgiving dinner. Food was excellent and the flavors amazing.
Jackrabbit hosted an exceptional Thanksgiving dinner. Delish!
We had an excellent Thanksgiving Dinner - superb service and a delicious meal! Our table had the turkey and prime rib, and we were able to get a slice of each of the pies. The candied sweet potatoes and braised greens were stellar. Beautiful restaurant - they accommodated our request for a booth even though there were 3 of us, and we really appreciated the care they took with our meal. Would definitely recommend for a special holiday meal.
Wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with family. We chose Jackrabbit because of the location and reviews and were not disappointed. The special menu provided good options for all and was well prepared, from starters through dessert. The room was lively and the wait staff attentive and engaging. Definitely will return.
We went for Thanksgiving and it was lovely!
We stayed at Duniway, so we not only enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal here, but we had lunch and brunch here as well. Each time the experience and food was always 5 stars! Thanksgiving dinner was fantastic! Two of us had traditional turkey, however I added shaved truffles to mine. Amazing! Two ordered the prime rib and one the salmon. All fantastic meals! The first courses were superb and the pies were scrumptious as well. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. All around a true delight and we would not hesitate to eat here again.
Outstanding place for Thanksgiving Brunch with our Mom. She thoroughly enjoyed her burger :) and my brother and I were really pleased with our orders as well. Great coffee - and the bowl of side potatoes with caramelized onions was the best desert ever!
I had a fabulous time. I got the eggs Benedict and the big glass mimosa. The glass was more like a carafe of mimosa which was wonderful however i will ask for more in future regarding sizes of the drinks!
The salmon appetizer was undercooked. Pasta entre and duck entre were good. There was a long wait between appetizer and main dish.
Great service and interesting menu. Delivery of more than half of the items was poor. In addition, a lot of the food that was supposed to be hot and they were only warm.
Excellent food and great service! Their dining room was set up with a long table in the middle. My husband and I were seated in the middle and I am glad that we had an early dinner and no one was seated right next to me.
We got the minimal amount of attention from our waitperson. We thought the food was overpriced for the quality & quantity of food. It was so loud that we could barely hear the person sitting next to us. We will not be going back.
I took my cousins to Jackrabbit. I have been a fan of the Cosentino family and miss their Boccalone store at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. It was a real treat to have lunch in Portland in a restaurant that blew away my guests with fantastic food and flavors. Not to be missed!
Great location downtown near the Schnitz. Good menu, good service, good food.
Charged $35.00 for corkage, most expensive in Portland
I was a bit disappointed that I had made a reservation and then got seated in a high top table in the bar. There were plenty of low top tables available but they wouldn’t seat us there. So my mood was very judgmental and poor after that.
Food and drinks were pretty good, and service excellent. My husband’s special of the day was of good value (steak with food tras for $28) and quite delicious.
While my mood did improve, I probably won’t go back.
Food and ambiance was good. I had the Salmon lunch special and it was delicious and prepared just right. My business associate had the Nicoise Salad and said it was delicious as well. I just have 1 thing to report. The table next to us had a "service dog" sitting right under their table.... sorry, even if it is a service dog I do not want to dine sitting maybe 1 foot away from a dog. What's up with that?!!
Great drinks and wonderful chicken dish; but steak was touch, very noisy and prices were high.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. This time was just not quite up to their usual excellent standards. The risotto was bland and the service wasn’t terrible, but not great either. Unfortunately we were seated next to the bar, which made conversation difficult.
The food was the best I have had this year by far.
Chris Cosentino Jackrabbit restaurant is consistently pretty good with food quality. Service was a bit slow down due to the obvious fact that waiters have bath stations to cover. Long time wait on drinks and wine service however not totally unreasonable. I still enjoy this restaurant and would return. One small note pricing on and Amaro was inaccurate.
Service staff accommodated a last minute seating request for my Mom's birthday... I was a bit of a brat about it and they handled all with grace. Our server/runner team was EXCELLENT. Food was spectacular. Well done, ALL.
Service was wonderful; Brando was great. Chef even came to the table to ask about our food. Wonderful time at a new all time favorite spot. Compliments all around
Great service and ambiance. Halibut came out cold and unfortunately not fully cooked. We left half on the plate so the kitchen could see. Overall, an above average dinner and would certainly come again based on the service and the ambiance.
Service is so bad. Waitress treated us bad because we are not native speaker. I have been enjoying your restaurant and service more than many many times for two years. I won’t bring my friends to your restaurant again and won’t recommend jackrabbit to my US colleagues.
We also leave our comments on Yelp!
too loud to talk to each other at the dining table and the waiter was unattentive
Absolutely to die for. We can’t wait to go back. The duck confit and waffle is absolutely amazing.
Food was delicious as it always is at every place Chef Cosentino puts his passion behind. One of the best Whiskey Sours I have ever had as well. Service was spot on and I will be back.
The servers and food were terrific! Great happy hour too! Thank you, Joel!
Love the “hot mess”!! Savory and rich... such unique and delectable bites!
We thought this would be a fun place to go, found it on open table and it has decent ratings and a different selection of dishes which intrigued us. When we arrived they tried to seat us in the back when there was plenty of space out by the bar. We spent $30 on 1 glass of wine and a bottle of water. Their food selection was okay but the prices are ridiculous. We don't mind paying a little more for quality service and food but the prices off the bat were a turn off.
When we told our waitress that we were only going to have a drink and not order food she gave us a very "you're a waste of my time" look and basically ignored us after that. We had to get other staff to help us and get us our check.
The food was expensive and not good I had the rigatoni bolognese, and my husband the pappardelle with pork oxtail. The portions were miniature and both lacked flavor. Mine cost $24 and his $20. Way too expensive for the quality and portion. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert and that too was flavorless.
The service was slow. The wine glasses had a strange smell.
Wonderful service! Drink was delicious. Enjoyed live music.
Their seasonal online menu was not up to date.
A Shared Supper of
"MR. MCGREGOR'S BUTTERMILK FRIED RABBIT"
lettuces, radishes & carrot harissa
There was still a rabbit but it was a Nashville Hot rabbit with a honey slaw. My partner and I were disappointed with the shift as we wanted to share a rabbit but did not want something that hot. The salad had shifted away from the salad with Strawberries.
The food we ended up ordering was tasty. We were just disappointed that the menu their website was out of date.
We had a large business group. The food was a little disappointing. Deviled eggs awesome, pigs ears not awesome, giant steak ($120) family style just ok, Pork Bacon Chop awful. Chef trying to be too over the top here. Simple Porterhouse and Double Cut Pork Chop is all you need. Service wasn't very friendly. Glass of wine spilled on two of our guest, nothing comped, not a drink, not a dessert, nothing. Dropped $600 on dinner for 7 and woke up the next day hungry. Atmosphere is awesome. I have had breakfast here in the past and that was great, but a little more work is needed here in friendliness, menu planning, and overall customer service.
