We had SUnday brunch. The restaurant was fun and flirty. The food was pretty good. A couple of us ordered the shareables which were good. I did order the Baked Oysters and sent back to a very strange metal flavor.
Dessert were also good along with the drinks.
Oh if you choose to Valet be prepared to pay $15.00+.
Overall ok but would not go back.
Always a great time when we stop in! Anne is the best 💜
The food, service and ambiance were great! Def worth the trip.
It was a vibe all around ✨ food was hot and delicious and the service was perfect.
The food was absolutely amazing. We had a great time and our server was very attentive and helpful.
Great experience. It was an awesome girl’s night out
Server was very friendly and helpful. Ambiance is super good. I’ve done dinner there a few times and although I think that’s fun, I actually liked brunch here a little more than dinner; less packed, music at a more reasonable volume, and overall the value was better. The hash was amazing and a huge portion. The octopus was alright, a little chewy but the garnish with it was great. The special we had which was a lobster toast was also good but not great. The burger and fries was amazing though.
The staff were wonderful and provided helpful suggestions on food and drinks. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was great!
It was lovely and fun atmosphere!
New Years Eve dinner was great at Jack Rose, we will be back soon!
Honestly Jack Rose is a vibe. Beautiful to look at and r&b playing in the dining room. Hot Tin roof top and live music playing in the Bayou bar. So it’s really a one stop shop!
The food was ehhh. Came out cold, my husband who never complains even sent it back. When your paying $42 for an entree it should be hot. Server was very nice when he was at our table, but that was sparse. Had to wave him down. Idk I wanted to love it for the aesthetics but it was just ok.
The atmosphere and drinks were great. The baked oysters tasted like they sat in low tide water for a while. The fish in a bag had not enough seasoning.
An amazing restaurant! The Service, food, and incredible atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We chose to have dinner here because it is inside an old hotel and the atmosphere looked fantastic. Well we were wrong, wrong and totally wrong. The ambiance looks pleasing however it is exceptionally loud where you feel like you are at an event rather than dinner. Cocktails were a great start, the autumn soup was spectacular. My husband ordered the filet and two of us ordered the Parmesan chicken. My chicken was undercooked and bloody as I was discovering this my husband (who never complains) said my steak is cold. He did not mean it sat and went cold. IT WAS LITERALLY COLD. Refrigerator cold. When we pointed out the undercooked chicken I was quickly told that is just a vein. Believe me, it was not. Then my husband said his steak was cold and he was told “that is because you ordered it medium rare”. He tried explaining that is was refrigerator cold and the woman again told him that is because he ordered medium rare. She offered to put it back on the grill (after he had already eaten a bite). We said no thank you. Unfortunately at a $350 diner I don’t really want the manager to explain or argue why I’m wrong about the meal I don’t find satisfactory. They did take both dishes off the final bill but continued to serve us with an attitude of how dare you question our food.
Only one out of the 3 of us had a good dinner. We had dessert, which was delicious, paid our bill and will never be back. Sadly this was the only dinner where we picked by location and not rave recommendations. We learned our lesson! Weirdest dining experience to date.
The service was good but I wish the waitress would have explained how the Chicken Parm. was with fried chicken wings and a drumstick as well as 1 chicken breast. I don’t like dark meat and wasn’t able to eat most of my dinner. We paid $137 for dinner and had to stop on the way home for a cheeseburger. I probably will not go back.
The menu was different than the one we saw only. Needs update.
Thank you for making our 2 year anniversary a special one!
The octopus tasted great however the grain that came along with it could’ve been cooked a tad bit longer. The shrimp and grits were amazing! Great amount of shrimp and the grits were creamy and dreamy!
This was my second visit here. The food is usually good, it was ok this time except one order was undercooked. Manager was a little Condescending telling us that the pork is supposed to be served “medium” when that wasn’t the issue. The other pork orders were fine, this one was raw pink. Undercooked pork can be very dangerous. I thought the rule was always a little pink is ok. This was all pink. Additionally, when booking we were forced to book a celebration prifxe menu and when we got there they had a completely Different menu at twice the price. Didn’t mind the price if it had been given upfront, didn’t like the bait and switch. And we’re out of town so no way we would ordinarily
Know what they do for holidays and open table didn’t say anything beyond the celebration menu which we thought WAS the holiday menu.
Service was good. Ambiance was lovely. I probably won’t come back a third time though.
We went to Jack Rose for Christmas dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The four course dinner was reasonable priced and the food was fantastic. Our favorites were the autumn bisque and the pork belly appetizer. The wine pairings were on point. We’ll be back and will recommend this place to all of our friends!
A 4 course menu with n eclectic choice for each. We both received fantastic food and overall service was perfect.
Food, service, ambience, patience of the staff, and overall just a wonderful experience. Caveat! They publicize business casual dress code but don’t enforce it. For special occasions and holidays we actually up that a bit to Sport coat or even a suit when we go to a classy place as we’ve always taken Jack Rose to be. So there we are in our suits on Christmas Eve sitting next to people wearing T-shirts and baseball caps. Seriously impacts the ambience of the place. Two tables over we see the same thing. Then we see more people arriving in T-shirts and baseball caps and some even in shorts. Seriously, if they can’t find it in their hearts (or income) to refuse service to these types and they’re not going to enforce their dress code then send these people to some back room where they’re out of sight and out of mind. We do not go to Antoine‘s anymore for this same reason. We had a wonderful meal with wonderful service and it’s true that most people were dressed nicely but people who come in dressed as if they’re at Uncle Joe’s Fish Fry Shack by a railroad track absolutely put a serious dent in ambiance and enjoyment.
Fun vibe, great food, attentive and friendly service. What more could you ask for?
The whole experience was outstanding. Will go back
Overall we enjoyed out evening at Jack Rose very much--great menu options, good wine list, good service. Our only complaint is that the 2 diners who chose the baked oysters for their starters were unable to eat some of the oysters--tough and too chewy, one even spit his out because he could not chew it. The sauce was delicious and we understand that shucking and preparing that many oysters an occasional inedible is bound to show up, so no mention was made of the disappointment to the servers.
My son and I had a great meal, everything was delicious and presented beautifully.
It is rare that your expectations are exceeded… Christmas Dayan Jack’s was that for us
Rated #1 Christmas brunch, the price fixe was impossible to go wrong. We all shared so we could sample. I recommend the same.
Only regret is not getting the wine pairing
5 stars, and and extra lagniappe star for the whole staff
This was my first time going to Jack Rose. The staff was friendly, helpful and very attentive. The restaurant was very festive with the holiday decorations. Everything was great except for the meal and it was a real let down for both my daughter and myself. I had the orinchetti, roasted beet salad and the trout amandine. I tasted the first 2 courses and they were flavorless. The trout was the best part of the meal and it was passable. I cannot comment on the particulars of my daughter's meal, but she shared that she was not impressed either. However, the cocktails, wine and desserts were wonderful. I am hoping that the meals were precooked since it was a set menu on a holiday, but I might be hard pressed to visit again. However, the Bayou Bar was the highlight as it always is. I will certainly go back there again.
Christmas lunch, perfect.
Food/service was good, but the patrons need to know how to dress for special occasions and respect other diners by not being loud and obnoxious. It was off the chart. Also, no bread available (server stated “supplier failed to deliver”). Really? When I pay as much as I did, I expect better.
Fantastic experience and the wine pairing was perfect!
Delicious food and excellent service from Jesse. We look forward to returning.
Very nice and exquisite Christmas Eve dinner with the family. The menu lacked “basic” choices though and one son who is very picky had dessert for his meal! When I made the reservation a month in advance the Christmas menu was not posted. Otherwise, we probably would not have dined here since the menu didn’t include an option for my picky eater!
So the experience was way over priced for the value. I will NOT go back! We were expecting the total package of a fine dining experience and it fell way short. No table clothe, no paper napkins served with drinks to stop the precipitation/spills from the glass and no bread and butter available to snack on or have with your soup or salad. The drinks and entrees were a premium price, but they did not provide a premium product. They drinks were extremely weak as well! We spent close to $1000 for seven people and I just expect more!
Always an amazing meal, a fun celebratory atmosphere and the service is top notch! Jack Rose continues to be at the top of the restaurant list for our family.
loved the ambiance and the lounge area you can wait and have a drink prior to dinner. great vibes
Lucky to snag a reservation on Christmas Eve! Immediately loved the shabby chic decor. We ordered the prix fixe Christmas menu and it did not disappoint. We tried the red gulf shrimp and baked oyster starters, then the roast beet salad and duck gumbo, the sole en papalloite and maple glazed pork chop and for dessert the pecan and mile high pies. Each fish was amazing! One of our best meals in NOLA
Excellent service, food was great. Restaurant was beautiful.
The taste of the food was not good at all. Definitely not enough seasoning for New Orleans type food. Sooooooo many other restaurants in the New Orleans area with way better taste and for a lot better price. The actual venue was very cool. Great aesthetic!
