You won't get in w/out a reservation, but you must go if you appreciate whisky (snob or not.) A destination you will always remember.

We LOVE Jack Rose (almost as much as we love our whisky). For any whisky-lover it is a must-go in DC. We shared about six different one ounce samples, and also had a huge juicy steak, which was amazing. It was a Monday night, so it was not crowded at all, but we've been other nights and it gets a nice group. You can even enjoy cigars with your tasting (which is a great experience if you haven't tried it). Definitely recommend.

Limited menu but all was good. The chicken was the best I've ever had. Seriously, its great.

We ordered the “short rib” from the menu, and it was strange that the server kept coming by and saying “your pasta is almost ready”. When it finally arrived, it was not even short rib, it was brisket... the dish tasted fine but I wouldn’t have ordered that cut of meat if it were listed correctly on the menu. More generally, the service was extremely slow, and they took a long time to seat us even though we had a reservation and the table they sat us at was ready.
