Great service along with great food.
Great old style supper club experience...even down to the antelope horns on the wall.
Met up with a old friend of mine for a business get together dinner. Good location, great selection and good ambience. He had the shrimp scampi and it was a little dry but still good. I had the jaeger schnitzel and it was pretty good. It was worth the price and the experience for my first time there. I would give it a second shot again.
The restaurant showed great appreciation for us being there. Nice buttered crackers came out first to nimble on. I then had corn beef soup which was excellent, then their renown white fish with their homemade excellent tartar sauce. It was also served with buttered “new” potatoes. Highly recommend their white fish with was baked with a dusting of paprika .
The service was genuine and thoughtful. It also was enjoyable to be at a historic restaurant from 1915 that still had lots of original charm. They did accommodate us with regards to distancing during the Covid virus. In fact ,only one other couple was there for this Thursday lunch. I will return to get their German pancake.
Delightful experience.
Enjoyed a holiday lunch with family. Three of us had the special - sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings, salad/soup. Super delicious. Everything fresh, including the coffee and rolls. Our waiter, who has been there forever, was attentive, fun and engaging. We always enjoy our meals here.
One of our favorite brunch places. My wife and I went on a Sunday morning and were one of the first people there. The pastries and mimosas started things off deliciously and that was followed by soup or salad. My farina dumpling chicken soup was excellent and my wife’s salad was nice and fresh. I can’t resist the German pancake, which was fantastic and very filling. My wife had the spinach quiche, which was light and delicious. All during the meals our coffee cups and water glasses were kept filled.
Great food but a bit over priced compared to other places I have been such as the Golden Mast.
Our entire experience was over-the-top wonderful. The food was outstanding and our waiter, Mark, was a joy. He was helpful with both meal and wine selection and made our experience a very pleasant one. I wish you were closer than a 2 hour drive, but we will be back anyway. Thank you.
The perch fish fry was very good. We loved the potato pancakes.
Historic community restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Our server and bartender were great and attentive. Family style menu with German influence nicely done. The fresh whitefish fillet special was excellent
Great outdoor dining experience!
Always an enjoyable experience! Food was well prepared and service was courteous and discreet.
Great. Love everything about going tp Pandls.
We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday Brunch outside on the patio in September. Our server was extremely personable, the food was tasty and the added touch of a yummy pastry plate was a perfect start to an amazing meal!
We had a lovely meal at a very nice table on the patio. A very pleasant anniversary celebration for us!
We all enjoyed our meals. The sea scallops in particular were excellent & I would highly recommend the Schaum Torte for dessert. Additionally, the outdoor seating area was very pleasant and comfortable.
I brought a group to the patio at Pandl's. The hostess/owner was very welcoming and everyone enjoyed their meal. Was happy to introduce friends who had never eaten there to Jack Pandl's.
There is no better place to enjoy outdoor dining in the North Shore!
As always the food and personnel were wonderful. They have the best whitefish dinner around and chocolate mousse pie to die for.
Very pleasant outdoor garden dining experience with a residential (non-commercialized) feel. Very good food and great value!
Birthday and wedding anniversary
Food and service is always good
Just the way I remembered as a kid...
Our food was very good. The service not very good. We had to flag down our server several times to get another glass of wine or more water. We made reservations but when we arrived they only had one table available outside and it was on the grass which was completely uneven. It was a horrible table setting and I understand they are trying to social distance. However, if I make a reservation and arrive on time I typically expect not the get "the leftover" table no one wants. They did not offer to wait a couple of minutes until another table left. The worst was that I saw our server wipe her sweaty forehead with her hand and then not wash them. Sorry, we're in a pandemic and basic hygiene was ignored. I cannot go back during this pandemic if the servers are not practicing good health and safety.
A friend and I had lunch on the patio. Very nice with flowers and plenty of space. Service was friendly and good and the hostess thanked us for supporting them. Food is "old fashioned" good. Always nice to eat on the patio.
The lamb was dry and over cooked and the wiener schnitzel was bland. The server was an old lady who made it clear she did not want to be there. She didn’t check on us, was slow getting us drinks, and whenever she brought out food she would have her finger in the food. The bartender and the other servers seemed attentive and clean, so we might try eating there again and just request a different server. We are big fans of lamb and Weinstein’s schnitzel, so we were disappointed with the price and the quality of food. Would not recommend ordering either.
Food and service was fantastic
We sat in the bar area so a little crowded around table, but it was fine... it did take a little while to place our food order, but it came out pretty quick. Shrimp cocktail was not good. Cod fry was great, although surprised no Cole slaw... just wish they would have also offered a grilled or fried shrimp on the fish fry menu, considering they offer scampi and shrimp cocktail. Our waitress was nice! We love going to restaurants that are not chains!
Food was excellent and a great value for the price.
Wonderful food, great drinks and A1 service.
Service was great and courteous. Love the fillet which was perfectly prepared.
Carmen is the best server they have. Be sure to request her.
Loved your bread basket with those little fried pieces - we ate so many of those were almost too full to eat lunch! Two of us had Wiener schnitzel which was delicious, spaetzel not as good, but okay. Shrimp salad was awesome, as was the turkey wrap! Server was lovely!
Excellent food and great environment. Everything is homemade!
I have visited Pandl's occasionally for more than 50 years. Nothing about the place has really changed in all of that time. The comfort food has always been the attraction for me. I expected to find a crowded restaurant on a Saturday evening, but when we arrived for our 7:00PM reservation, the dining room was only about 2/3 full. Most of the customers were seniors. By the time we left about 8:15PM, only two tables were occupied.
As always, the food was excellent. My Manhattan clam chowder was homemade and delicious. The fresh whitefish fillet, a specialty for years, was prepared perfectly. My dining companion had the beef rolladen with red cabbage and a dumpling. She enjoyed it very much.
I am looking forward to returning to try some of the other menu items. We enjoyed our evening, but the atmosphere was a little too quiet.
Had a great dinner with friends. The place was packed. It the service was excellent and the food delicious.
I would give 5 stars but they didn't offer many gluten-free options or GF bread or buns.
Such a cozy, historic restaurant. My walleye was cooked to perfection and the service is great, with very happy, charming waitstaff!! Not to be missed!
A long time staple in the area, we really had to go. We enjoyed it, but probably won't be back. It is like going back in time and there is something very special about that. However, the wait was long for the food and the food was just OK.
We had Rouladen, Chicken Livers, and Whitefish, all of which were excellent! Our waitress was Amy, and she was very attentive, as was the busboy who made sure our water glasses were never empty. The only noise came from the table next to us where a large family group with several young coughing children sat. That was no reflection on your restaurant, and out of your control. We had fun guessing the number of lights on the Christmas tree outside the window, and can’t wait to see if we won! This was a return visit, and we will definitely come again.
