Frenched and grilled, served with provolone-potato gratin, haricots verts, and glace de viande
Shrimp & Grits
Sautéed shrimp in red eye gravy with Broadbent country ham, cremini mushrooms, and tomatoes. Served over Weisenberger grits and finished with parmesan cheese
Nothing bad on the menu! Loved the burgers and chicken salad this time!
Handle a group of eight with ease, and it was a wonderful experience.
Steak and salmon were truly excellent, as was service. Acoustics, particularly high ceiling, make sound level higher than normal but it is tolerable considering overall experience.
What a great meal! A reservation is a must since it is a bit small. The small size does create a noisy atmosphere. This is what I took off a Star on ambieance. The food and service were magnificent. It should be for the price. This is not a place for the kids and I am willing to pay extra for that fact. Thanks Jack Fry's for a GREAT anniversary dinner.
Great location, delicious food, knowledgeable staff on wine selections!
As always, JF’s never disappoints. Can’t say enough for the quality of the food and service. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you
Food was delicious. The Bananas Foster cheesecake was out of this world!
Honestly is there a better restaurant in Louisville?
We had a family lunch that was unfortunately cut-short because of a family member’s illness. However, the staff handled it with aplomb. They quickly packaged up our food and allowed us to leave at all possible haste. The food travelled well and it was delicious.
Amazing food, great atmosphere, open when other places are closed. 10/10 would recommend!
Fabulous, as usual! Jack Fry’s never disappoints.
We have a wonderful meal at Jack Fry's. The food was cooked to perfection and came at just the right temperature. Our party ordered the pork chop, the salmon and the catch of the day. Each entree was served in a very flavorful way. We also enjoyed the cornbread side! Great meal and great service overall. We will be back!
Interesting setup. Nice menu. My pork chop was dry, but service was good.
Outstanding, impeccable service, amazing food, wonderful ambiance.
Very good experience. However, the Manhattan has gone downhill since last year we dined at Jack Frys. They no longer use high quality vermouth and use cheap cherries (no longer Luxardo). The filet was very good, but not excellent. We ordered medium rare and got medium. Also, the price of the steak had recently significantly increased.
The food was ok. After eating there for so many years and always being happy with the food I would like to see the menu updated and changed a bit. There isn’t a lot to choose from so it’s not difficult to have eaten you’re way through the entire menu after a few visits. Little over priced, especially for the appetizers. 17$ for shrimp and grits that only had 3 U20 shrimp in it? With the entree you can either get a 60+$ filet, or 52$ seafood option, both seem over priced. Other than that it’s not a lot to choose from. The pork chop I had was cooked perfectly and very good. But it was topped with bacon and made an already salty sauce even saltier. Still would recommend, it’s a Louisville landmark and the service is always exceptional. I would just like to see some new and improved food out of the kitchen.
In town in Louisville for only a few nights and wanted to find someplace a little more neighborhood-y than the big restaurants in the downtown hotels. Hosts were able to move our reservation up and got us a great table. Cocktails were great. The fried oysters were delicious. The service was completely on point and friendly as well. Cozy spot that felt very romantic.
The Hamburgers were not cooked as we would have liked, Otherwise all was good.
Jack Fry's did not disappoint! Excellent food and great atmosphere.
Nice lunch for two. Food excellent as usual
It was great as usual!
Very disappointing!! Caesar salad limpy and tasteless. Pork chop dry and overly salty and cooked, salmon dry and tasteless, chicken tough. Used to love going there but won’t go back anymore.
Thank you so much for your feedback, and we are sorry to have left you disappointed. We strive for perfection and anytime we miss that mark we take it very seriously. We will be sure to pass along your comments to our Chef so that we can determine how these mistakes can be avoided going forward. We do hope that you may give us another chance in the future.
It may have been bad luck, but there was a large table in the main dining room by the bar that was so ridiculously loud it was annoying. The service was pretty slow overall and the food was nothing special.
Driving thru Louisville. Returning from Daughter’s Law school graduation in Boston.
Great Anniversary dinner. Thanks Jack Fry’s for making it special as always.
My wife and I had wonderful service from everyone at Jack Fry’s, especially from our server. It did not go unnoticed, even for a place as prestigious as Jack Fry’s. My wife and I always get the filets, just hard to beat, and they were just as good (if not a little better) as usual. But then.... came time for dessert. Usually we pass because nothing really jumps out at us. However, this was different, ALL of them looked so good and then ones we ordered were especially great!
The only negative for the evening was the noise level, there was one table that was especially loud and borderline obnoxious as the drinks kept flowing. This made me appreciate the piano that used to play and set the calm tone for a nice meal, rather than an all expensed paid rowdy outing.
To end on a positive note, it was great to meet the head chef and see the excitement and honor he had in his profession. Makes me want to go back as soon as the menu rotates for the next season! Not sure if I can for go that proprietary ice cream they have made for them.
Wonderful food and atmosphere!! Iconic Louisville dining experience! Highly recommend!!
All in our group loved their entrees- service excellent and perfect timing for course delivery. Would highly recommend.
Stellar food and service as usual from the team.
Very enjoyable dinner, food and service were wonderful.
The food was truly exceptional. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our food very much.
Very good atmosphere! A little noisy due to a large group reservation at the time, but enjoyable to celebrate an anniversary.
Outstanding food with great service, a solid cocktail/wine selection and just a classic Louisville dining experience.
Delicious food and absolutely amazing service! We were celebrating our engagement anniversary (a few months late), and couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate!
The waitress was lovely - however the hostess who greeted us was rude and demeaning. She was wearing a pink jacket
Small Brie salad was a bit short of the Brie. Fish sandwich was delicious as always. Dessert options were not especially tempting. Two companions were disappointed with salmon croquettes and one found the shrimp and grits different from what they remembered and not as tasty.
We've been going to Jack fries for almost 50 years. It's always great.
Cocktail prices were higher than most restaurants. Food was very good. Noise levelwas too high. Booths were too small for 4 people.
