The executive chef prepares southern specialties and adds a bit of French influence to create local favorites like shrimp & grits, lamb chops and Jack's burger. Jack Fry's provides a friendly atmosphere and live jazz , ensuring the entire group will find something to enjoy.
Seeing as how I began by buying booze underage from Jack Fry, it’s a little more than a walk down memory lane for some of us. Nice to see Sue Seiller’s original classy conceptualization of a NY Bistro in Kentucky is still fully in extant and even improved upon. It’s a sheer joy to come back to “the scene of the crime”, and tuck into superbly prepared food with expertly delivered service. A Louisville treasure.
Road trip. Passing through. Trip Advisor said it was sweet so we went. The burger and chicken Sammie’s were legit. Regret not getting dessert..
When asking every person we met in Louisville where to eat JACK FRY'S! was the consistent #1 answer. Therefore we HAD to try it. It definitely lived up to expectations. The darkly furnished interior was cozy and inviting reminiscent of an old townhouse decor. The staff was attentive and the food absolutely delicious. The chef artfully combined ingredients and created a wonderful balance of flavors in each of our dishes. Would definitely recommend!
Excellent restaurant; would definitely reserve there again.
Lunch...welcomed on entry.
Not busy so low noise level, ate in bar.
Fried green tomatoes were over cooked, and tomato lacked flavor. Server did not inquire about appetizer.
Everyone selected from menu and all enjoyed each entree selected. Somewhat high priced for lunch but very satisfied.
The food & service was exceptional!
Best restaurant in town or any other city I have been. Always on point.
A friend told us about Jack Fry’s and said if you’re ever in Louisville it’s a must. We made our reservation before leaving home to make sure we could get in. We absolutely loved everything about the place. From the moment we walked in we were glad we came. Service and food were fabulous!
The service is always great. The cocktails are always perfect. The food is delicious and the atmosphere feels like a NY bistro. It's not cheap but it's worth the price. The only mild complaint I have is the small menu. There aren't LOTS of choices. But what choices they do offer are varied enough so that everyone could find something they enjoy.
Terrific lunch with great service. The homemade bourbon barbecue potato chips were a special treat!
Best restaurant in town!
They did a fabulous job of handling my food allergies. Great meal, service and ambience. Loved the piano and bass
Top notch in every aspect. We can't compliment the staff enough, very professional and gracious. The food was outstanding in flavor and presentation. Definitely demands a return visit.
Best escargot in the city. Filet was excellent and the salmon was the best I’ve EVER had. I’ll be craving it until I eat there again. Which will be soon. Thanks for an amazing birthday dinner.
Incredible food yet noisy and dark atmosphere.
Drinks were good. Shrimp and grits was awesome! I didn’t like my chicken dish. My husband had the pork chop special. Flavor was ok but very gristly. Dessert was ok.
Loooooove Jack Frys. Everyone's Louisville favorite. The food and the staff is the best in town.
Crazy about the Jack Frys crew. Thanks for all you do to make our meals so special.
Took my date here late night to have lava cake and chat. Overstayed closing and the staff were gracious and pleasant about gently bringing us back to reality. Lovely piano music and quiet atmosphere made this a real closer of a dream first date. Thanks, Jack, we'll be back.
Love the clubby feel and the food is always excellent. Never disappoints!
Jack Fry’s never disappoints!! The cocktails are amazing, the food is great and the service is spot on.
Jack Fry’s is always top drawer and one of my favorite place in town. You just can’t beat it. ❤️ Five Star all the way!
I had two guests. One ordered the hamburger and fries. The hamburger was very small and not too good and the fries were actually hard. My guest did not reveal that until the end of of the meal. He told the waiter and didn’t really want anything more. So unusual for Jack Fry my favorite restaurant. Thought you would want to know. Paula Hale
I got the steak special (medium), the flavor was okay, however the steak was very tough, to the point, it was not eatable. My wife got the fillet. It was very tasty and tinder. So we shared the fillet. Service was wonderful. We had drinks and appetizers that was also wonderful.
Wonderful place for special occasions but extremely limited handicap access. It was extremely noisy
Jack Frys never fails to impress. The food is always amazing and so are the drinks. The atmosphere is perfect.
Always a must when in Louisville.
The atmosphere is quiet and conducive to great conversation, the service is attentive, and the shrimp and grits are delicious!
Very noisy. Too loud for a conversation.
I brought two clients to Jack Fry's for a business dinner, and they were very impressed. The food was excellent, and they said over and over how they enjoyed themselves.
Kerry was a great server accommodating our family with our 7 month old baby!
Lovely celebration of my 7th decade. Good scotch, yummy food, loving company.
This was our second time coming here, the first time was with 6 friends, this time with 10. Service was a little slow but it was super busy and we had 10, so very forgivable. Server was wonderfully cheery, kind and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Louisville
The service was outstanding. The tables were tight and the noise level was high, but it’s part of he ambiance. The food is terrific. I had the escargot and my husband had the Stilton salad. Both were super tasty. Our entrees were super tasty, although the sides could use some upgrading. Overall, an amazing dining experience.
Couples date needing a night away
One of our very favorite restaurants! Always delivers the best service and quality food. Love the owner and Manager.
The food and service was outstanding! Possibly the best pork chop I have ever eaten!
We tried booking a spot for dinner for a special occasion too late, but it turned out that lunch was a great time to come -- both for the value and the smaller crowd. The salmon was the very best salmon my husband has EVER had. (And he's had a lot of salmon at fine restaurants over the years!) This was one of the few meals we've had where EVERY course was exemplary -- both complimentary breads, the warm brie salad, salmon, shrimp and grits, and dessert. Fabulous. We live a few hours away and are already scheming a time to return. :)
The food is always a great. I made a reservation but the girl at the front was rude and said I didn’t make it for 6 but 4. My table was already seated. I pulled up the reservation and it was in fact 6. The noise level was hard to have a conversation with 6 people and the air vent was dropping water on one of my friends. Honestly, parking sucks, staff is rude and the venue is a dump. Only good thing, the food. Sorry but being honest.
Food and service were superb!!
