Jack Fry’s is a MUST when in Louisville. The service, atmosphere, food nor drink will disappoint. Last night we had requested a table that was not in the middle of the room, Jesse was amazing in making sure that happened for us. He went above and beyond by calling us an hour or so before the reservation time to let us know our request would be difficult since patrons were staying longer than expected. We were fine with that, but the call was great. When we arrived, things had changed and we were seated as requested. The cocktails.....my goodness. We had the Parkside Gimlet and the Bazooka Finale. Beautifully presented and perfectly balanced. Steve, our server, was fantastic. Just the right amount of attention, never letting is wait but not rushing. The food....escargot were tender and juicy and the toasted baguette was perfect for mopping up the luscious butter. I had perfectly medium rare lamb as requested, and the jus was seasoned just right. The gratin of provolone potatoes was something I will dream about. My fiancé had the pork chop, which although huge was cooked perfectly and cut like butter. We chose the seasonal cobbler to share for dessert. It was apple cinnamon with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Wonderful. Thanks so much for the great dinner, and experience. We will definitely be back next trip!

We were in Louisville for a weekend trip to bourbon trail. Made reservations for Friday night at Jack Fry’s (party of 5), and it was the best decision we made! Table was ready right away, service was prompt, our servers were so polite, and the food was 1000/10. Highly recommend - we will most certainly be back!!!

We arrived early for our reservation and were quickly and graciously accommodated. Our server was knowledgable and friendly. The food was absolutely outstanding! Have never had a better steak ANYWHERE in all our travels. Cannot say enough good things about this establishment. This makes us wish we lived in Louisville!

The food, drinks and service (Steve) at Jack Fry’s continue to impress. And we especially like the post-COVID layout, with increased spacing between tables. The noice level is still quite high though such that it still is a bit difficult to carry on a conversation. Perhaps management could find a way to add some discreet, sound buffering bolsters to the ceiling. But all in all, we had a very pleasant evening at Jack Fry’s and look forward to another visit soon.

I love Jack Fry’s. I have been going there for 25 years. They are operating effectively through Covid. Having to rearrange tables due to some of the restrictions placed by local government has caused them to reduce capacity. The government needs to let places like Jack Fry’s get back to business. The food, service and ownership of are top notch. Please support these local institutions - we don’t want to lose them.

I had the pasta and there was alot of pesto in it.
Service and everyones dinner was excellent.

Arguably the best restaurant in Louisville. Very well composed dishes without trying too hard to be distinctive. Perfect place for any special occasion or just a weeknight dinner out.

Saturday night was very special as we were celebrating my husbands big 70th birthday. I know he loved eating at Fry’s but we hadn’t been there in years. So this was a very special outing for and a huge surprise for my husband.. we ordered a few drinks, which were marvelous. Our waiter was superb and ma
De some excellent recommendations. My husband ordered lamb chops and I had the steaks. My husband ordered the chops rare and I wanted my filet medium well. Unfortunately when the dinner came my steak was bloody and my husbands chop dry. We asked the waiter to redo both meals which he apologetically took care of immediately. Round 2: The steaks came back charred but still bloody on the inside. I sent them back and ended up nibbling on my husbands lamb chops which were still a little overdone. In the restaurants defense, they did try to make up for the misstep by redoing both meals, but by the time the new meals arrived we were already disappointed. My husband did enjoy the lamb but I more or less was done with the restaurant. So sad this happened at a restaurant with such a stellar reputation. I don’t think we’ll be going back.

I’ve been to Jack’s maybe 8-10 times over the last few years, decided to bring my father since he’s never been. Staff was great, appetizer was great, main entree was fantastic, drinks were on-point.

Unfortunately, desert was a huge swing and a miss. The cheesecake was absolutely terrible. Hard as a rock and broke like chalk when trying to slice through it, bitter cocoa (not in a good way), and and a hard, dry, unpleasant texture.

What is also unfortunate, is that I ordered the cheesecake to avoid their ice cream. I love ice cream, don’t we all? My last experience with their ice cream was that it was the cheap, icy texture, instead of the smooth, thicker texture from higher quality ice creams.

In my opinion, what separates great restaurants from good ones are how likely I will order desert. My next visit to Jack’s, I’ll pass on desert.

We thoroughly enjoy Jack Fry's! It seems as though the chef changed up the Shrimp and grits appetizer. Unfortunately, it was not as good as I remembered. The steak was great! We also had the cornbread shareable side which everyone enjoyed.

Excellent food and service. Loved the ambiance of the old building and the decor. Waitress was helpful, and anticipated our every need or question. Great place - like going back into simpler times - only better!

Perfect portions.No need for doggy bag.Pride taken in preparation.Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.Just a bit to dark,I accidentally put the desert garnish in my mouth.Only other minor issue was the very small parking lot.

Jack Fry's never disappoints! We made an impromptu late reservation on a Sunday night (our fav night there) and ordered all of our favorites, which were even better on this night. The spicy oysters and grits were hot, crispy and amazing!

Amazing!!!!

We read that this establishment was a “must see” while in Louisville.. However, the food was just ok- nothing to write home about. My daughter had the burger, she said it was very good- but the Caesar salad and Brie salad were “meh”-quite underdressed.. This comes from a person who does not like too much dressing on a salad! The filet was mediocre at best.. The only dish that dazzled us was the shrimp and grits appetizer..

Jack Frys has always been a tried and true favorite. Fish was hard and over cooked. Vegetarian cassoulet was dry and flavorless. Our waiter did not check back with us after meal. Huge disappointment
