The executive chef prepares southern specialties and adds a bit of French influence to create local favorites like shrimp & grits, lamb chops and Jack's burger. Jack Fry's provides a friendly atmosphere and live jazz , ensuring the entire group will find something to enjoy.
Only complaint... there was a fancy gnocchi dish on the menu (peas, mushrooms & bechamel). My child asked if he could order just gnocchi with butter, which they did accommodate. However, they still charged the $34 pricetag of the full entree. We did not take issue at the time, but since you asked :)
Everything was fantastic. Thanks for an incredible night.
All dishes exceptional, attention to detail is key!
Fabulous food from beginning to end. Excellent service and ambiance, too.
I’ve been visiting Jack Fry’s for nearly 15 years and continue to be impressed by the level of service and quality of food. I constantly tell friends and family that the best Filet on the planet resides on the Jack Fry’s menu. My wife and I just celebrated our 32nd Anniversary at the restaurant, which was a very memorable experience. Our server, Ashley, was phenomenal and would recommend her to anyone. Jack Fry’s is the ultimate get away for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience!
Phenomenal dining experience from start to finish. Deliciously well-constructed cuisine. The salad was a masterful collection of flavors and textures, while the entrees left us delightfully satisfied. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. The ambiance was cozy and the decor was rich in local nostalgia. We’ll be going back!
Anniversary dinner, first date and engagement night destination. One of our favorite restaurants!
Wonderful service and food.
Usually like food but Halibut left me with stomach issues the next day. Portions not very big for the price - could add more veggies or something, not necessarily bigger entree. Service fantastic!
Everything was exceptional. Food, service & ambiance. Will be back soon!
It was great. I loved the atmosphere, the piano player, the food...everything was excellent!
We were in town for the weekend and wanted a nice place to eat. The brie salad, salmon, burger and short ribs were all excellent as well as the cocktails. Pricey.
best restaurant in louisville
prices are just like NYC, though, and this isn’t NYC
should try to hold back on the prices
still we refer all friends and out of towners to JF’s
Flawless service and food.
Best in Louisville
Jack Fry’s was fantastic! My husband and I both had steaks, and they were delicious. We went there for our anniversary. It was perfect, and we were also given a free dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We definitely will go back.
My 50th birthday
Jack Fry’s is my favorite in Louisville. The warm Brie salad is a must!! The ONLY negative I can think of is that it does get very loud.
Favorite Restaurant in Louisville. The food, service and ambiance are all outstanding!
Another meal that reminded us of why Jack Fry's is our favorite restaurant in Louisville. Food is always outstanding and it's one of those places that always gets the service right. It starts when you walk in the door as the young man who greeted us was very welcoming and acknowledged us immediately. The waiter was also very friendly and wasn't overbearing while we were trying to eat. They always have a great wine list and our waiter even brought me a taste of two wines we were considering before we ordered one. I always get seafood when we go and am never disappointed.
Lunch was lovely and so was the service. It’s always a treat to visit Jack Fry’s!
Unusual for this restaurant but my fish was overdone, I didn’t send it back. My friend ordered the scallop special and was told there were three large scallops, her order came and there were only two. We didn’t point either of these out as we hadn’t seen each other in forever and didn’t want to spoil the mood. All in all was good, but so unusual for Jack Fry’s.
We were originally sat near the bar area which was too noisy and was seated in the more quite area. The food was great and ambience was perfect. The only draw back was Walter our server was a bit salty.
Lovely evening with awesome food
Although limited selections the food was great. We sat in the bar area which was very tight seating and rather loud. I would recommend highly in that the food was exceptional and the price was reasonable for the quality
I’ve been a server in fine dining for a handful of years working at some of the top restaurants in Nashville and Louisville. When it comes to my birthday, I like to spoil myself with a fine dining experience but rarely am I as impressed with my service as I was at Jack Fry’s! The host made sure to ask whose birthday it was as it was noted on our reservation and must have relayed that information to our server because she brought out a complimentary dessert at the end and knew exactly who to give it to.
All of our dishes were excellent. My filet was cooked perfectly to order. My husbands halibut was juicy and seared golden. My parents dishes were perfect as well! We never waited long for drinks or any of our courses of food. My dad even ordered a second round of fried oysters and our server made sure the kitchen got them out before our entrees arrived. Proper silverware was placed before entrees and our server was attentive despite having a full section and a larger party.
The noise level is a little loud but nothing I would complain about. The piano playing was really nice! I would recommend Jack Fry’s to anyone who appreciates amazing food and service. Overall one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Thank you Jack Fry’s for making my birthday meal special!
By far one of the best restaurants in Kentucky. Food was exceptional. Atmosphere was great. Would highly recommend to everyone who visits the Louisville area.
Jack Fry's never disappoints. Chose the pork chop this time instead of the Lamb chops and had no regrets.
Always the best- never disappoints. Literally Jack Frys is the only thing we miss about the highlands since moving outside the Gene Snyder. Love it always!
Super food and atmosphere. Locals love it here. Loud, but friendly
Everyone thought the food was wonderful. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting and the level of service was very good. The only issue was our service was remarkably slow. The server was polite and apologized that some (undefined) issue had arisen. I would definitely go again in hopes the timing was an isolated issue.
It’s a great day when I dine at Jack Frys, such a special restaurant. My favorite place in Louisville for many years. Top notch food, service and ambience every time. Walter was a wonderful server also.
Food was delicious. Service was good, but not over-the-top or as good as you might expect.
Took some out of town friends there for our first visit. Based on reviews we selected Jack Fry's. Knowing seeing there was a lot of history with this restaurant I asked the serve to give me a brief summary. I was amaze at the detail and pride in the answer given. Oh, yes, the food and service was outstanding.
Everything was very nice, but the noise level was so loud we couldn’t talk to one another across the table.
Absolutely. Thank you, Stephanie. Thank you, Jamie.
Food, service, and ambiance were fantastic! We will definitely be back.
Always a great experience at Jack Fry’s!!
Friend and I sat in front window. It was Very loud and hard to hear each other talk. Good was good but over priced. Service was great.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville!
I almost always order the small warm brie salad w/ KY Bibb lettuce and the shrimp and grits.
You can't beat it!
