The executive chef prepares southern specialties and adds a bit of French influence to create local favorites like shrimp & grits, lamb chops and Jack's burger. Jack Fry's provides a friendly atmosphere and live jazz , ensuring the entire group will find something to enjoy.
We had a delightful lunch but did not know about the onion/mushroom soup until after our meal. It's a great spot.
Outstanding service along with a perfect dinner.
Everything was outstanding from stink, service to food!!!
The lamb shank was excellent and they make a great drink! The Brie salad is always a favorite too! We come back every time we get to Louisville!
One of our favorite places to eat in Louisville. Great ambiance and service and food were excellent. The lamb chops were fantastic and the Stilton salad is still my favorite.
Great, fast lunch service. The food was the best we had all weekend.
The atmosphere was upbeat and high energy. Wait staff exceeded expectations, friendly, and helpful. Food was outstanding where everyone in our group of 8 enjoyed their appetizers and entrees. Would definitely recommend Jack Fry to anyone visiting Louisville.
It was a little loud but other than that a wonderful experience
This restaurant never disappoints - always fabulous
Place was overpacked and so loud it was as impossible to talk. Staff were harried but polite.
Place either sells too many groups of 12-15 or just doesn’t care anymore. Could not wIt to leave.
Ezcellent food and fabulous service.
Always a bit noisy, but an overall very good experience. Service is impeccable.
Great atmosphere, great service and the food was outstanding.!
Jack Fry's has ALWAYS been a wonderful experience for dining. We enjoy the music and upbeat atmosphere. The server's are excellent and friendly. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Thanks!
Jack Fry’s is always such a nice experience! We’ve never been there so late before (our reservation was 9:30), and there were some pretty noisy patrons, but our experience was still great. The food was perfection and the service was impeccable.
This restaurant lived up to it's reputation. We had plans to eat here 4 weeks in advance as I noticed Friday and Saturdays book up quick. This is a smaller dining room restaurant so in the rush time Sat night we noticed volume was loud, but that is because tables were closer together. From the outside looking in this is a local hot spot for people to dine. We had the beef tartar and escargot to start. All 4 of us at table loved each bite. We proceeded with the Brie salad and it was incredible. Most of us had a steak and one person had the duck. All were prepared properly tempura wise and seasoning. We asked for the sauce on side on fillet and changed the sides some as we typically eat less carbs. They accommodated every request. The fillet with sauce on the side was seasoned to perfection. The sauce was great, but not even needed! Stop here when you are in town. A ton of history and you can clearly see why they have been around this long.
Always delicious. Shrimp and Grits appetizer and Pork Chops for entree.
Great experience. It was my first visit and won't be my last.
1st time out of town visitor to a delightful historic restaurant. We loved the ambiance, walls covered with old Derby and family photos. The piano player was great, subtle but very entertaining. Shrimp and grits starter for our table was very tasty. Lemon chicken entree very tender but the broccolini on several dishes was very tough. The short rib entree was very bland as was the sirloin entree. The apple cobbler was good but the waiter forgot to bring the coffee we ordered. A fun neighborhood locale and a good experience overall
Excellent as always. Food was delicious, cocktails we great, service was impeccable. We had two orders of really good escargot appetizers to start. For entree one of our party ordered the filet and raved about it. The other three of us ordered the sea bass special. My wife loves sea bass and has tried it in restaurants all over the U.S. She claims it was hands down the best tasting ever. I might have to agree. The fish was perfectly seared with a slight char, presented on truffle risotto, with a tasty lemon butter sauce, and micro greens. Just Wonderful. We finished by sharing a Carmel brûlée and apple cobbler. Fantastic finish.
Jack Fry’s is always awesome. Love everything about the food, service, and ambiance. Jazz piano is cherry on top.
Outstanding! Food and atmosphere was terrific. Would you just look at it!
I come to Louisville from California every couple years on business, and it’s my must go to place for dinner!
While it can get a bit noisy to conduct business conversations ... it’s the Cats Meow for me personally !
Food is always exceptional ... The warm Bree salad is incredible ... did I say I don’t normally care for salad ?
Staff is warm and friendly and prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and experience. Top that off with some of the finest Kentucky windage .... to close the evening out with a shot of Angles envy was a complete experience !
Thanks To the Entire crew for making my trip to KY memorable each time I’ve been there.
Took my wife here for her birthday. It was a place on our wishlist that we hadn’t been to. We’ve heard great things and we had high expectations. The experienced surpassed them all! It has such a cozy intimate atmosphere (we loved the live piano and bass). The staff was so prompt and courteous. And the food. Oh man the food. It was delicious. We couldn’t have asked for a better dinner date. Highly recommend!
Our server was outstanding. Our food was well prepared. Our dormant orders from the bar were carefully and wonderfully made. We had heard Jack Fry's was a must visit restaurant during our time in Louisville. What we heard was true!
Jack Fry's was wonderful as always! We have been enjoying this restaurant for 40yrs.
Jack Fry's is the quintessential Lousiville dining experience. Even as a first-timer, I felt like family. Service was exceptional and our dinner was top notch. My favorite dish was the bibb salad with a light mustard dressing topped with melted brie.
Great evening. Service was excellent, food was amazing. Everything was exceptional and that’s why it’s so hard to get a reservation on a Saturday night...or most any night.
Really great service and good quality food!
Excellent food & service. Always a pleasure to to dine at Jack Fry's.
One of the best in Louisville! Definitely want to go back!
This was our first visit, but definitely not our last even though 90 minutes from our home. Quaint, upscale but unpretentious, comfortable, welcoming, tastefully decorated. Excellent salmon and pork chop entrees followed by a lucious creme caramel. Yum!
This is our favoriate date night spot. Love the soft jazz mixed and dim lights help create a timeless romantic setting. I have the service rating a 4 because our waiter wasn’t very attentive.
Great food. Top notch service. Great place for date night.
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. We try to eat there when ever we happen to be in Louisville.
Great food and service.
Awesome salad and salmon
It was a good night. Ty the server was on point. The Steak I ordered was very tasty but I tasted the char. Maybe because I left off the cheese.
This was by far the best dining experience I've ever had. In fact, I heard such good things about it. I flew all the way from Wisconsin just to eat here. The food, service and atmosphere did not disappoint. The steak was the best I've had in my life. We will definitely be back. Thanks for such an amazing and memorable meal.
The meal I had at Jack Frys was easily the tastiest meal I have ever eaten. The food was so delicious! Worth every penny. And the service was excellent.
