This is an exceptional restaurant! The food is innovative and delicious. Chef John truly has a passion for fine cuisine and he displays it here. He changes the menus periodically. We had excellent meals both times with different menus. Each dish was perfection! The service was also impeccable! We had Florian both nights that we came and he was a breath of fresh air.....charming, knowledgeable, and experienced. Cannot recommend this place enough!!!
One of my favorite restaurants. Pre-fixe dinner menu is amazing. Wagyu beef entree prepared to perfection.
The soup, the salad, the entree, the dessert - every course was more delicious than the last! We had the scallops and the filet mignon. Both cooked perfectly. The waiter, bartender, and chef were all very friendly and made sure everything was prepared well! I’ll be dreaming of those churros for a long time.
Wonderful restaurant. We got there on the second night of the new, organic, prix fixe menu and it was great. They made a special vegetarian entree for my wife and the Wagyu ribeye for me was exceptional. The first two courses and the sides on the main were excellent complements to the rest of the meal and a diverse, fun set of taste experiences. Service was attentive, friendly and informative. While the wine pairings looked good, we went with a nice bottle of a Margaux and were very happy. I would highly recommend this for a date night or special occasion or just a splurge when you are in Sedona. For us, it was well worth it and a highlight of our visit to the area.
My wife and I were there for Valentine's Day. The food was great and service impeccable. However the entertainment that night was a bit too much for our taste. The small intimate venue was overtaken by the larger than life personalities of the opera singers.
The absolutely best meal i have ever had. The food was perfect. The atmosphere is great.
This was a Valentine's evening complete with excellent food and service. A tenor and Soprano from the Phoenix Opera added to the evening with some superb arias. The only downside was the cost. it was a little high.
We had a spectacular dinner here, great help selecting our wine from a really good wine list. Everyone enjoyed their generously portioned dinner.
The staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful, and obviously very dedicated to the establishment. The appetizer was excellent and not like anything I’ve seen on other menus, and the Gorgonzola gnocchi was amazing. All ingredients were fresh and delicious, but the meat for the main courses was slightly overdone/dry and the sauces weren’t particularly remarkable. But that was overshadowed by the staff and the rest of the meal. I would likely choose to dine here again.
Last minute dinner choice, so glad we picked this place. Food was excellent, wait staff very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Would definitely go back if I ever visit Sedona again.
This place great. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Food is fabulous.
Superior service, nice meal with a nice selection of wines.
Kyra did an excellent job, the food was outstanding. Very relaxing and comfortable. The salmon dish was prepared to perfection.Thank you J Wine for a great experience.
New to area. Have been here a few times. Food is great using fresh ingredients. Service is great. Kyra is the best! Owners are attentive and engaging.
Cocktails are good, but I am being generous at 3 stars for the food. Just off the top of my head...Spinach salad has so many cranberries, might as well call it a cranberry salad. Bread service is for two pieces of bread and they act like they can't wait to take that away. Olive oil is pretty low quality. I ordered short ribs, should be one of the easiest menu items to make, I mean pretty much anyone can braise short ribs a few hours to get them tender, but not here...you get them tough and hardly any sauce. Desserts are way too creative to even make sense. Either offer cheesecake, creme brulee, or both - but not some hybrid of both...why?
The food is very rich, and a bit bland. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Always an excellent choice for an elegant delicious dining experience.
I just love this restaurant! J wine is about 2 minutes from my house and how easy it is to get there and back..The food is outstanding as well as the service and John the owner goes out of his way to make you feel at home..I recommend this restaurant!
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!
The lighting cast a strange glow. It was cold so we kept our coats on. We thought by it's name we would have a wine sommelier to guide us with our wine selection. No guidance at all. The food was fair. Our waiter was lovely.
Chef John's food is amazing and Kyra, our server, is always friendly and very attentive. We LOVE J. Wine Bistro.
Kyra was the BEST SERVER EVER!!! Everyone was so great to us, and the food is to die for...
This was our second visit. The food is fine and the location is great for those at the Hilton. However, the service was lacking. We had to ask more than once for a few items we'd ordered (or asked for) which is a bit of a disappointment. It would not put me off, as long as one knows what to expect.
At least I would not recommend for a price fixe holiday meal. Mediocre at best for $75 pp, including a bottle of so-so wine.
Fabulous place for a great meal, everything we ate was amazing and the staff were very knowledgeable about their menu
Job well done and we will return
Waitress appeared very unhappy. Not with us, but I’m general. She seemed irritated to be at work. She didn’t ask us if we wanted anything to drink, so we had to politely ask if we could order drinks. We also ordered crab cakes, which showed up at our table well before the wine. We finally were able to order food after a long wait and hardly anyone in the restaurant. The food didn’t have much flavor and the meat was tough. I ordered the ahi tuna and my husband ordered the sea bass. Good news, the wine was great.
Very creative nuances to some classic entrees. Was deliciously decadent.
Excellent service, friendly staff, 3 of the 4 of us rated the food as excellent and 1, very good. Will definitely be back on a Tuesday or Wednesday (two courses for $25). Otherwise, overpriced.
It nestled inside a newer small mall called The Collective. Nearly is the Hilton at the Bell rock, and right next to the only Tesla Superchargers in the Sedona areas. It’s a Sunday night and it’s almost full. Ambiance was nice. Casual dress code but saw some dressed nicely. Food prepared by the owner and were excellent! Price a bit pricey but understandable because it’s a higher scale restaurant.
Another delightful dinner date at J Wine Bistro, including live Jazz guitar, enjoyable service and a tasty meal.
Very enjoyable evening. The food and service was excellent. The only thing was the noise level was such that at times it was difficult to carry on a conversation.
J Wine was our dinner stop on our last night of 4 I’m Sedona. It was a shot in the dark. But sounded interesting. And we weren’t disappointed. In fact we were quite happy with our choice. The staff were very friendly. We were seated right away. Our waiter introduced himself and took drink orders. Our cocktails were great. We ordered an appetizer, a salad, and entrees. All were delicious. Everything was served at a nice pace with time to talk and enjoy. This was a big deal as the last 3 nights in Sedona our meals were served like there was some kind of race. Everything we were served was delicious. Very nice preparations. Compliments to the chef. If we lived in the area we would definitely make this a regular stop.
This is an interesting place. It’s a super small dining room (only seats maybe 40-50 people), and the food is actually pretty good. The service wasn’t great, however, and they were serving canned soda (and charging for refills without mentioning this!). Maybe this is to be expected in a wine bistro, but this was a little off-putting. Live music was a great touch!
Table was ready when we arrived. The server we had was either new or did not have a good day. Long wait till he came. Bread was served only after asking, same hold true for the olive oil. Drinks for main course came only after the main course arrived and after checking again. Overall not a good service. Starters were really good (Portobello mushrooms and dates), main course was ok. The lamb burger was small but tasty, the meat of the pork osso buco was very tender, but the rest not really hot upon arrival. Season veggies were 2 small carrots and 2 pieces of pumpkin.
I think there are better choices in town
Fantastic find during our visit to Sedona!
Great meal. Excellent service. This is a small place offering a unique menu and a solid wine list. Highly recommend this restaurant. We would return again when in the Sedona area.
We just happened to show up on Opera Night! Apparently, once per month, JWine has this special night, so we had an unexpected and wonderful addition to our delicious dinner. Our server, Kira, was a deluxe professional who watched over us to make sure that our food was perfectly prepared (it was), our wine questions were answered ( they were) and everything was to our satisfaction (100%). The food was great, the wines on offer were thoughtfully chosen and the ambiance was wonderful. Small, cozy place that lends itself to an intimate dining experience.
Great food! Service was a little uneven but not bad. Will return.
