J Wine Bistro
Expect exceptional service, a creatively delicious menu, and an inviting atmosphere. J Wine Bistro is sure to be a top destination and instant local favorite.
Kyra was the BEST SERVER EVER!!! Everyone was so great to us, and the food is to die for...
This was our second visit. The food is fine and the location is great for those at the Hilton. However, the service was lacking. We had to ask more than once for a few items we'd ordered (or asked for) which is a bit of a disappointment. It would not put me off, as long as one knows what to expect.
At least I would not recommend for a price fixe holiday meal. Mediocre at best for $75 pp, including a bottle of so-so wine.
Fabulous place for a great meal, everything we ate was amazing and the staff were very knowledgeable about their menu
Job well done and we will return
Waitress appeared very unhappy. Not with us, but I’m general. She seemed irritated to be at work. She didn’t ask us if we wanted anything to drink, so we had to politely ask if we could order drinks. We also ordered crab cakes, which showed up at our table well before the wine. We finally were able to order food after a long wait and hardly anyone in the restaurant. The food didn’t have much flavor and the meat was tough. I ordered the ahi tuna and my husband ordered the sea bass. Good news, the wine was great.
Very creative nuances to some classic entrees. Was deliciously decadent.
Excellent service, friendly staff, 3 of the 4 of us rated the food as excellent and 1, very good. Will definitely be back on a Tuesday or Wednesday (two courses for $25). Otherwise, overpriced.
It nestled inside a newer small mall called The Collective. Nearly is the Hilton at the Bell rock, and right next to the only Tesla Superchargers in the Sedona areas. It’s a Sunday night and it’s almost full. Ambiance was nice. Casual dress code but saw some dressed nicely. Food prepared by the owner and were excellent! Price a bit pricey but understandable because it’s a higher scale restaurant.
Another delightful dinner date at J Wine Bistro, including live Jazz guitar, enjoyable service and a tasty meal.
Very enjoyable evening. The food and service was excellent. The only thing was the noise level was such that at times it was difficult to carry on a conversation.
J Wine was our dinner stop on our last night of 4 I’m Sedona. It was a shot in the dark. But sounded interesting. And we weren’t disappointed. In fact we were quite happy with our choice. The staff were very friendly. We were seated right away. Our waiter introduced himself and took drink orders. Our cocktails were great. We ordered an appetizer, a salad, and entrees. All were delicious. Everything was served at a nice pace with time to talk and enjoy. This was a big deal as the last 3 nights in Sedona our meals were served like there was some kind of race. Everything we were served was delicious. Very nice preparations. Compliments to the chef. If we lived in the area we would definitely make this a regular stop.
This is an interesting place. It’s a super small dining room (only seats maybe 40-50 people), and the food is actually pretty good. The service wasn’t great, however, and they were serving canned soda (and charging for refills without mentioning this!). Maybe this is to be expected in a wine bistro, but this was a little off-putting. Live music was a great touch!
Table was ready when we arrived. The server we had was either new or did not have a good day. Long wait till he came. Bread was served only after asking, same hold true for the olive oil. Drinks for main course came only after the main course arrived and after checking again. Overall not a good service. Starters were really good (Portobello mushrooms and dates), main course was ok. The lamb burger was small but tasty, the meat of the pork osso buco was very tender, but the rest not really hot upon arrival. Season veggies were 2 small carrots and 2 pieces of pumpkin.
I think there are better choices in town
Fantastic find during our visit to Sedona!
Great meal. Excellent service. This is a small place offering a unique menu and a solid wine list. Highly recommend this restaurant. We would return again when in the Sedona area.
We just happened to show up on Opera Night! Apparently, once per month, JWine has this special night, so we had an unexpected and wonderful addition to our delicious dinner. Our server, Kira, was a deluxe professional who watched over us to make sure that our food was perfectly prepared (it was), our wine questions were answered ( they were) and everything was to our satisfaction (100%). The food was great, the wines on offer were thoughtfully chosen and the ambiance was wonderful. Small, cozy place that lends itself to an intimate dining experience.
Great food! Service was a little uneven but not bad. Will return.
We have lived in the VOC for quite awhile and had never been to J Wine but we had seen a lot of good reviews and decided to give it a try. The service was excellent, just the right amount of checking and friendly. The food was really, really good. The portions were really huge as well. It was a great experience and we would certainly go back there!
A little loud and busy but still very expert service. We had ordered small plates and the food was good and flavorful. We would like more choices on wine by the glass or even wine flights as the only improvement suggested.
Awesome food & service
Joe is awesome
Awesome dining experience. Service was great and food was delicious!
The food though fresh and well prepared was rather bland. We love grilled octopus so ordered it. Not very much on the plate, not charred instead a lot of arugula. I had the Cornish hen which needed some type of sauce. The wait staff was very nice and the wine selection was good.
I hope to return to Sedona so that I can return to this Bistro! Trust the reviews here and have the camembert. Have a bite of the cheese with the candied walnuts. Oh my! I've never been of a date eater, but the bacon wrapped dates may very well be the most melt in your mouth appetizer on the planet! Four skewers of dates with two dates on a skewer. Trust the waiters with their wine recommendations; they know what they're doing.
Service people were wonderful but food was sub par for what we expected. Also, based on the name, we thought there was an affiliation with J Winery and there was not.
Was at indoor/outdoor venue. We were outside. Some of the selections were not available when we arrived. If the special is 50% more in cost than the highest priced menu item, it should be disclosed before ordering. The Rib-eye special was not particularly special, but costly! The owner was busy to a private party and staff seemed distracted.
Overall we left very disappointed. While the service was fantastic; the food was not good at all. I get that this is Sedona, so prices will be high; but I at least expect a little quality to go along with it. Portions were very small and flavorless. The pork meat dish, literally consisted of about 3 bits of meat. Very disappointing, as I had much higher hopes for this place.
I love this restaurant. The food is exceptional and the wine list is fantastic. The staff is very welcoming.
A delightful evening... a lovely meal served on a quiet patio but excellent and knowledgeable staff! Recommend !!!
We happened upon this place because it was close to our hotel. The food was delicious and the server, Kyra, was fantastic. She was very accommodating of my many food allergies and really descriptive and enthusiastic about the specials and menu items. My husband loved the pepper infused vodka Bloody Mary with vodka from a local distillery.
Set in the rear of a multi-building retail center, it wasn't easy to find at first. There is inside and patio seating and we sat outside on a nice evening. I ordered the prime filet mignon, a special that night, and it was tender and flavorful and cooked just right. The server explained that it came with a variety of vegetables and it did, but the portion of vegetables was unexpectedly small. For $38 for about a 6oz. filet and the vegetables, another side dish would have been appropriate.
Great place to dine. Good service, food excellent, nice wine list. I'd highly recommend it.
Lovely meal and quite close to the hotel we were staying at (the Hilton). Not worth the drive from Sedona but if you are staying in Oak Creek it is a good choice.
As always, a great experience for locals who frequent J Wine Bistro on a regular basis. However, really miss the 1/2 portion options - hope they are returned soon!
Food took a long time to arrive and wasnt cooked . Service was excellent
Very nice restaurant with an intimate atmosphere, good food, and excellent service.
We were here on a tuesday evening and had the two courses for $25,-. Spinach salad and Canadian King Salmon. Along with a beautiful bottle of Gavi white wine. Perfect evening at the Bistro.
Great menu options and service with inside and outside tables. Located in building behind those fronting 179.
Perfect date night place. Love that you can taste the wine by the glass before committing. Food was excellent too. Small sharing plates were superb
It was the best meal we have had in a long time. The grilled polenta dish was fantastic as was the schnitzel. Staff was friendly and attentive. We would definitely visit again the next time we come through Sedona area.
