A friend and I made a reservation being we were driving 2.5 hours to St. Louis that night. We saw this was a farm-to-table restaurant and what a hidden gem! Everything was full of flavor and delicious. I wish we had the time to stay for dessert because it sounded wonderful but everything was amazing and I can’t wait to have another opportunity to go back for more. My compliments to the chef and a big thank you to the staff for providing my friend and I with an unforgettable dining experience!!!
Absolutely outstanding! Food, service, and atmosphere were perfect!
Excellent restaurant! The food was fresh and prepared perfectly. The service was very good as well.
Our food tasted good, but the pasta was lukewarm, at best! We also had caesar salads, which we enjoyed! Our server, who was very nice, talked us into getting chocolate chip cookies for dessert. What she didn't say was that we would have to wait 15-20 minutes to get them! They were ok, but not great! The most negative part of our meal was the weird croutons they serve, which are black on purpose! They tasted horrible, and that's the way the kitchen thinks is good!
Our experience was disappointing. The menu was limited. It indicated that food preferences could be accommodated, but upon inquiring, there were only a couple gluten-free items. When asked about the rice balls, the server said they were not gluten-free, although they typically are. She did not seem to know. The wine they brought was not the one we ordered.
Of the three dishes served, the chicken was delicious; the ravioli lacked flavor, as did the scallops. The service was satisfactory, except the wine service, as above. The server appeared tense: it may be that she was new.
All in all, it was a mediocre experience for a restaurant that has a long history of quality.
We did the tasting menu and it was amazing! Highly recommend.
Small portions. Left hungry. Bread and butter $10. No condiments for hamburger.
We used to go to this restaurant as our "special night out" place back when it was called Five and was in The Grove. I don't know why we stayed away so long but this was our son's pick for his first "Our Family Is All Fully Vaccinated" meal out since before the start of the pandemic and it did not disappoint. The highlights were the panzanella salad and the mushroom ravioli, but everything was delicious and the wine list was excellent. Also excellent: the service! We look forward to returning.
Farm to table Italian restaurant with a small but exquisite menu, delightfully prepared and presented and with friendly, attentive service and an excellent wine list
Amazing food and excellent service. Wish we would have found this place sooner.
Excellent waitress and service. Was a little disappointing with the Caesar salad. Otherwise great meal
Great experience. Beautiful surroundings, very clean. Delicious food. I will go back and definitely recommend!
Very few people in the restaurant, however, the service was still extremely slow.
Menu was very limited.
Portions were extremely small for the price.
Doubtful that our group will return.
Everyone on staff including chef Anthony goes over the top to create an elegant dining experience
Always great food and service. We did the menu tasting and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend.
What a great place to enjoy wonderful food in a quiet setting
The best farm-to-table ingredients, with impeccable preparation. Always delicious. Always relaxing.
We were so happy to discover this restaurant. We chose to sit on the patio because of the lovely weather, but the indoor ambience looked nice. Our cocktails were wonderful. We were very happy we chose bread for our starter. That alone was worth the trip! My butternut squash ravioli was divine. My husband enjoyed his scallops but thought there should have been one more on the plate. We’ll definitely be back!
The stars of the show are the front-of-house staff. To a person, they were all friendly, thoughtful, quick, and never seemed too busy for us.
The decor is ok. It's thoughtfully done, a little eccentric, but nothing negative.
The food is just OK. The pictures and descriptions made us think the place would be next level. Again, just OK. We've been twice.
We loved the atmosphere. Minimalist, pleasant and soothing. Loved the way the walls are painted. Fettuccine was fabulous. Pizza was delicious, although the crust was undercooked. Service was perfect. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
It's fun to chose the chef's tasting menu to sample so many delicious dishes. We love coming to J Devoti! Thanks so much for a wonderful meal!
Awesome food and superb service!
A beautiful evening. My wife and I celebrated our 41st anniversary over a week. We concluded our week of celebration at our favorite restaurant. It was like being with family.
First, I have to say the bread appetizer was AMAZING! Unfortunately that is where amazing ended. The scallops were good but nothing special. The pasta was tough and lacked a lot of flavor. It’s a decent place but definitely not upscale. We loved 5 Bistro but this iteration, not so much.
Service is efficient. Establishment is very clean. Menu is approach by Chef with care for ingredients, taste and presentation.
One of our absolute favorites! The gnocchi was outstanding.
Cozy inside dining. There is patio dining as well but chose inside. Small menu selections but more than enough to satisfy or dinner needs.
Must return soon!
Our dinner was delicious as usual! My favorite restaurant in STL.
Food was delicious and so very fresh! Loved it all.
We very much enjoyed dinner on the relaxing patio! Thanks to Jena for providing nice service. We especially loved that we could bring our well-behaved dogs with us. See you again soon.
If you were visiting the St. Louis area, you don't want to miss this restaurant. The food is delicious and elegantly presented, the service is great and the farm to table experience is very special. If the weather is nice, sit outside near the culinary garden.
I had the most amazing seafood chowder ever! I highly recommend JDevoti’s!
Food was great and staff was attentive. Will be going back and excited to try more of the ever rotating menu.
The food was good overall, although the pizza dough was bland. We had a reservation for 8, but it seemed like the server was already mentally clocking out when we got there. Would probably not dine there again.
Very yummy! Great service. We did the tasting menu and the server asked what foods we don’t like or are allergic to and catered each course to that. Date night without kids and I happily and slowly (in a good way) ate delicious food while actually being able to hear my spouse while we talked. Highly recommend.
A great value, very well prepared simple Italian food clearly handled with care. The server was pretty absent, and despite a very empty restaurant everything seemed a little slow, not from a kitchen perspective but simply from the perspective of the servers attentiveness. And some simple things like it would’ve been nice to have some pepper for the pizza, or plates cleared in a more timely fashion. Nothing horrible just not a very impressive service experience, which is at odds with how clearly carefully the food is repaired..
Service was not the best and menu is very small
The food was fantastic, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was beautiful. We had the bread plate appetizer on recommendation which was amazing, the roasted mushrooms (best mushrooms I’ve ever eaten), and a sausage pizza which was a crazy good price for how good it was. Overall amazing and we will be back.
