Rare to find a fine dining restaurant open on the Lake of Monday but J. Bruner's is always open with a perfect steak in a quiet atmosphere. The ribeye was done perfectly with a medium-rare center and crusted outside and my wife's filet mignon was also perfect. Stuffed mushrooms were the perfect start to a fine meal with outstanding service. My only recommendation would be to lighten the atmosphere as it is dark beams, dark carpeting and dim lighting which was very popular back in the 1900s!

I have dined here twice in a week, something I would rarely do while traveling; the steaks are just that good. Old-school decor should not fool you- the beef is without peer, and the wine list and sides are up to the standard of the steaks. A real gem.

Food was good but for the price you can find other restraurants in the area for less money. The drinks are rather expensive also but for a nice evening you wish to spend a good amount of money for good food then J. Burners is the place to go.

The smell in the restaurant was disgusting! They should have closed the place. I asked server what the issue was and she said it was something in the wall and going to work on it in a week or so. Will NEVER go back and we frequent this place during the summer.

This was our first visit to J. Bruners and it will not be our last. The waiter was very attentive to us, made sure we had everything, the appetizers were fabulous, very tasty, the steaks were cooked perfectly, fantastic tasting, absolutely delicious. The raspberry tea was terrific. We are impressed with everything and everyone there at J. Bruner's. Thank you for a lovely girls night out.

Not Sam good as our last visit, which was a few years ago. Food was fine, though not remarkable. Prices seemed a little steep for what you were getting. Service was good.

Last time we went to J Bruners the food was great and we loved it. This time, dining room smelled like someone had just lost their lunch. The onion rings were great , as usual, but my steak and my husband's pork chop we're both over cooked. My daughter said fried shrimp was good, but she thought the place was overpriced. Don't know if we'll go back.

Very expensive with poor quality food. Baked lobster was tough and over cooked. The batter fried lobster was just tasteless. To many excellent restaurants at the Lake to choose from.

Kelly our server was great. We had a marvelous dinner, the lobster bisque was delicious. The salads, both the house and spinach were super fresh and loaded with extras. We loved the homemade dressings. The prime rib with fully loaded baked potato was definitely everything they said it was. We ended the evening with the ice cream sundae with the chocolate crisp sauce, super yummy.

Had a large group in the private dining room. Restaurant needs serious updating and staff should smile more and we're very unfriendly . No one was in the place. For a prime steakhouse seemed way past it's prime.

We've been dinning at J. Bruner's almost every time we are at the lake for the past 20 years, their food is good but the lobster tails was tiny for the price you paid, other than that, the food is really good. Although the new owner probably doesn't care, but I do feel it was a mistake to take the fried chicken off the menu as well as walleye.

Excellent! Always good food. Decor is classic...outdated, old fashioned, but charming. The ribeye steak is awesome. I had the batter fried lobster...omg! Expensive, but ohhhh soooo worth it! The service is the best we've had anywhere.

The food and service were both amazing. The restaurant itself needs an overhaul and updating. The prices are premium and you feel like you are in a rundown motel. The staff was awesome and accommodating to all our requests. The onion rings a must!!!!!

We were very disappointed with our recent dinner there. The highlight of the meal was the onion ring appetizers, the complimentary bread and our exceptional service. The restaurant is dated and smelled like mildew. They had pumped in strong fragrances to mask the mildew-like smell but it was obvious to us despite their efforts. It was much worse downstairs than upstairs. The meal was average to slightly below average - especially for the price.

The building is old and in need of updating. No windows in the dining area. The stairs to the dining area are challenging being disabled and no other option was given. The food was EXCELLENT. The lobster bisque was amazing. Bewsre, however, that when you order, most of the menu is ala cart and you will pay dearly for soup, baked potato, etc. It sounds like it's included when you order but it's not.
