We had a great experience for our first time at Betski's. We know and love traditional German and Polish food and this place hit the mark. My only suggestion for improvement is to add a feature of order modification since the ordering process is app based, which is super fast and convenient! But we were not able to ask for sauces and condiments on the side, which we did verbally, but still, some items came out covered. There was no issue fixing, but I can imagine it costs the restaurant a lot of extra $$ when orders keep going back to the kitchen. Despite that, we had a great experience and will definitely be back!

As it was in the old location, the food and presentation in its new venue remains superb; a long time favorite place of ours. The staff and the owner/ chef are very helpful and accommodating, including special dietary needs. I understand the need for the cell phone/online mediated menu, placing your order, getting it promptly to the kitchen, and payment in this time of difficult staffing. And it works well. However, even though the app is well written and forgiving and allows for in process change of mind, I miss a hard copy menu - which one can request, I discovered - and the more natural consultation with knowledgeable wait staff. I will adapt. In the end, restaurants are about a sublime meal which J. Betski's continues to meet to our great pleasure.

Wonderful pierogis and scallops. A well curated German drauft and bottled beer menu. Food is very good and priced accordingly. Our main course plates were a larger than a tapas portion. To order you scan a code for food and drinks at your table. A surprisingly fun and efficient system. Keep your tab open and explore the beer and dessert menu. The smoke beer tastes and smells so good I would wear it as a cologne. The chocolate hazelnut torte was so incredible my wife and I wanted a cigarette afterwards and we don’t even smoke. There’s plenty of parking across the street and the staff was friendly. We’ll be back.

I've been going to JBetskys for years. I was expecting an authentic German experience just like I had at Seaboard Station. This is my first visit to the new location, and we brought friends. The food was cold and did not taste good at all. The service terrible and waiter seemed to not care. The whole experience was UNBELIEVABLY horrible. If you want to be a local bar, be that and drop all references to a German dinning experience. We will not be back.

Thank you for the kind review, and the note about your service. Apologies on feeling rushed, and apologize for any of our shortcomings; that is not the norm here, as we really work hard to provide our guests with the best experience possible. We hope you return soon, and are confident when you do, you will leave very happy with all aspects of the dining experience.

This was our first time at J. Betski's and weren't disappointed. We were seated by the host and greeted by a wait-staff who told us the specials, and "how to order". Each table has a QR code you scan, it opens the menu and identifies which table you're sitting at. You look through the menu and choose your appetizers, main dishes and desserts. The food comes out quickly so don't order everything at once. I ordered the smoked red pepper soup with pork and dumplings and my wife ordered the the mushrooms and cheese Pierogi. Both were good, but could've been a bit hotter, especially the soup. Once into the meal, at your chosen time, you order anything else you'd like (main meal and/or dessert) with your phone. I had the brisket which came with a small kale salad, and 2 pumpkin Pierogi. My wife ordered the Schnitzel which came with a cucumber salad and warm German potato salad. She had never had German style potato salad before - it's very acidic but tasty. Several people said it rather loud, he got there right when it opened, not many people there, so it wasn't bad at all, but with a tin roof we could see it getting loud when it gets busy. Others weren't wild about ordering via phone, while we prefer standard menus our waiter was very helpful explaining menu items to us so using our phone wasn't an issue with us. We recommend trying them out, the food was very good and staff were friendly and helpful.

As always, the food was delicious. The wait people are very nice but not intrusive. It could be a bit quieter, however, so seating on the banquette is optimal.

Food was outstanding. The ordering system on your phone is terrible. It worked but it's a terrible experience. The phone ordering is impersonal and cumbersome and antisocial, which is the opposite of what a dining experience should be.

Took our 2 year old out for an early dinner and had a great experience. (Primarily because he tried and ate everything we ordered) it was still pretty crowded around 515 on a Saturday which is a good sign for business!

Great food. A little cumbersome getting used to the app to place your order, but the server helped a lot. Not sure how much to tip a server when you place your own order and they just bring it out to you.

Hadn't been to J. Betski's since pre-pandemic and was thrilled to discover a new larger location. While some of the tables are still squeezed a little close together, overall feels much more open and less stuffy. Food, as always, was terrific. Waitstaff still helpful and effcient. Great wine/beer/cocktail list, though the cocktail pour felt a little light. Biggest PLUS is the new ordering system using your phone. Loved that it allowed us to set our own place of when we wanted our cocktails, wine, apps, main course and desert. As we progressed, we realized that we didn't need a second main courses and split that before splitting a delicious dessert. As they warned, it all comes out pretty quickly so don't order something until you are ready for it, pace yourself, and take time between courses to enjoy the company and great wine! Overall great to revisit one of our long-time favorite places in Raleigh. Look forward to some outdoor dining when the weather allows.

Great food, not crazy proportions but enough to share and the prices are reasonable. I wasn't a big fan of ordering online and just having a server bring to the table. It seemed impersonal. This restaurant is quite loud.
