I always enjoy an opportunity to come here. The staff is always amazing and welcoming. The food is absolutely worth the value and they make amazing drinks as well!
Cobb salads were ok - the corn bread was dried out and burnt with really weird textured butter - I would skip that next time. Service and atmosphere was what you’d expect.
First timers! We loved the atmosphere! Felt like a steak house. Our server was lacking. My cocktail was God awful....pineapple martini....sour and had a bad after taste. Wouldn't get that again. The server was nice but while we kept waiting for different things...he was chatting up another server in booth behind us. Grrrrrr
The seafood was excellent as was the black beans rice and cold slaw. What the server did was very appreciated.....he brought my daughter an on the house dessert for finishing her cancer treatment with the approval of Stephanie the manager! Thank you. We'll return! And takes an hour for its to get there!
Great service . Quality food. Had a booth at the bar and the service was exceptional. We were visiting from Maryland and the online views were excellent . Recommend this venue when the college town is over crowded as well.
Very nice food was good
The Ahi tuna appetizer was dry tasting. The portion size for my scallop and shrimp entree was small. We were hungry and on a time crunch so we ate it and muddled thru. My entree tasted good- it was just small in portion and the shrimps and scallops were very small in size. Left still feeling hungry. I don’t think I will go back. The service was fine- they table share- so lots of people to check on you and refill a drink, etc.
The restaurant was pretty empty- but they sat all their guests near each other- and we were right outside the kitchen- when it would have been. I ER to have been away from the noisy kitchen and other patrons at tbkes that were available.
A usually enjoyable experience, this was not the case on Mother’s Day. We waited way too long for food to be delivered, one meal was too cold to eat. Asked for it to be reheated, and by the time the dish was delivered to the table everyone else was finished eating. Another dish obviously sat under a heat lamp too long, the crabmeat on top was crunchy, and the rest was lukewarm. Manager did apologize for how long it took to get the dish heated up, but what consolation is that when we waited almost 30 minutes for out meal, then just as long for the reheated dish. Our reservation was also messed up, I had to show the hostess our confirmed time, they had us listed for 30 minutes later. (Our cold dish was compensated)
Don’t go here on holidays! Will give them another chance based on past experiences.
We dined here on Mother’s Day weekend. The food was mediocre. I wouldn’t dine there again. Prices are high potions are small. Food was cold we sent most of our meal back for a do over.
Mothers Day Dinner
We were seated at the reserved time. Waitress was attentive and the food was very good. The coleslaw had no taste, but the waitress was quick to ask what other side she could bring. We had a good time.
We brought my in-laws to JB Dawson's because we loved their crab cake sandwich. My husband and I still do however, the crab cake was a just little too spicy for my 88 year old mother-in-law. The manager comped her meal and we ordered her a bowl of lobster bisque which she enjoyed ver much. Love the brown bread and maple butter with the meal. Service was excellent. This would have been a 5 star rating except that the chef might want to lessen the old bay or whatever the spices are in the crab cake so that it may cover a wider range of preferences...We will be back.
GraceF! Thanks so much for the awesome review! We will definitely check with the kitchen to ensure the Crab Cakes are being made properly. They are certainly not meant to be overwhelmingly spicy. Either way, we love hearing about great experiences and hope to see you again soon!
This was my first visit to this restaurant. It was my bestfriend birthday so I decided to treat her here because I heard great things about the food. Overall I really liked the restaurant, the quality of drinks, appetizers and food. My server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I would have given all 5 with my experience which was awesome but it boiled down literally to a baked potato lol. Please have a few available for lunch instead of having to wait until after 4pm other than that it was great.
Although our reservations weren't checked, we were seated right away. Our booth was very clean and the wait staff was very prompt. Our food was absolutely delicious. I can't remember what wife and kids had, but my Panko-crusted crab cakes were great. I had garlic whipped mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. We live in Baltimore, Maryland, but we often shop at Christiana Mall and will return to dine.
Server was great.
Thanks for the 5 star review!
It was very disappointing. My crab cakes were expensive and it was just a pile of crab with bread crumbs. My salad was drowning in dressing. The staff was lovely and attentive but the food was not at all worth it.
Excellent continuous food and service. I have been dining here for the past 5 years and never disappointed.
Eddieb, Thank you so much for the continuous patronage and the great 5 star review, however I do hope you meant to say that you're "never" disappointed! Please feel free to ask for me the next time you're dining with us. Sincerely, Randy Oxman, General Manager.
A chain nothing special
Amiandai, Thanks for the great review!
Overall very good but they were having problems with getting bread out to table. It was very good bread but we did not get it until after we were done with meals.
Great service! Very good food!
My biggest issue was the service. It took 20 min just to get the check and the server could not be found to give my family refills on drinks.
We do frequent Dawson's and have always been pleased. This most recent visit was no exception to that. We were able to request our favorite server (Victoria) and she was excellent as always fulfilling our picky sons strange requests. She is very attentive and and food comes out perfect. We will of course be back. This visit we partook in the Monday all you can eat ribs and they were so tasty!
Food was awesome. Made a reservation and was seated as soon as we arrived. Staff did a great job with suggestions. We genuinely felt welcomed. Will be back.
When making a reservation for a specific time, you should not be told that you have to wait 30 minutes for a table to open up. Food was good, however service in general was lacking from it taking 25 minutes to pay and leave to asking multiple servers for refills on drinks.
Great food. The steaks were great. The spinach, lobster bisque and Caesars were also delicious
Place was busy but we had a reservation so didn’t wait long. Waitress was attentive. Food and drinks delicious.
