Service was very bad. I was still eating when our waitress came and checked on us and took fork out of my hand.

Delicious meal, excellent service. We are on vacation, spending a week in a rental , the host recommended your restaurant and we were thrilled with our experience.

We love going to Redlands J. Alexander. It’s normally always good food and great service. I always give outstanding. This time was less than outstanding, but due to history I rated better than this experience. 1. Waiter forgot our appetizer. Had to remind him but by time he got it to us the food was already served. He did not charge for it as make up. Thanks. I prefer to pay and get it before. 2. I understand cooks hate getting an order for steak well done. But hey some people don’t like the thought of blood. My companion is like that. Well 75% if time they get it perfect but this was not one of those times. The steak came out barely medium. My companion always refuses to send food back so ate one small section that was cooked more and took rest home to recook for leftover. Cooks if they don’t know how to do a steak at perfect temperature should use a thermometer. I can tell a steak’s wellness by pressing on it and feeling the texture. A lot of cushion and is rare to Med rare. Avg cushion is medium and no cushion is well. I pressed down in his steak and it was very cushiony. Cushion means when press down it is soft and rebounds back. Please teach your cooks to use a thermometer. And check two points on steak. Will be back but not confident.
