Greta variety of food and drinks.
The service staff was so friendly! Our waiter helped us go over the menu, suggested cocktails, and was incredibly attentive! Food was incredible. I will definitely be going back.
Food came quick and service was great! The vegetable ramen was delicious and o highly recommend the When East Meets West cocktail! Can’t wait to go back!
Great plates to share. Yummy cocktails and sake selection. And a refined atmosphere that is above and beyond your everyday hangout.
Great atmosphere. Service was 100%
Truly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere!!
Was alllwed to book but the restaurant was actually closed so did not get to sxperience
Best sushi I’ve had in a while. Fresh fish, ingredients that only enhanced the quality of fish, fair prices, allergen friendly, attentive staff and fun cocktail list. Will be back many times.
Cool, fun ambience…great place for night out with friends or a date.
Wonderful ramen, maki and robata! We will definitely be returning.
Small plates, the soup and drinks were absolutely delicious. The sushi were not that great. Dry. Very casual and very noisy.
We were at the restaurant for about 30 min with no background music and few people so it felt like everyone working could heard your convo. Recommend background music at all times
Wonderful…. Our waiter Jeff was very patient explaining each dish and it’s preparation. Delicious dinner!!
Delicious food! Cool place! Great staff!
Ordered 3 small plates, karaage chicken, soft shell crab bao, and pork gyoza. Small plates were excellent! Everything was cooked perfectly and I thought the sauces were unexpected and really delicious. Also ordered the Spider Roll and it was perfect. I gave 3 stars for food because of the Kawasaki chicken ramen. I was shocked when they brought it out. Probably the worst ramen I've ever had anywhere. You can go to any tourist trap in Chinatown and get a decent bowl of noodles for less money. Ajitama literally translates to seasoned egg...and the eggs were just plain softboiled eggs. Completely unseasoned. Broth tasted like Campbell's canned soup and the noodles were essentially spaghetti. And it was 18 dollars! Whoever prepared the ramen clearly has never had real ramen in their life. This restaurant is a cool place if you stick with small plates and beer...avoid the ramen at all costs.
The food selection was great and so was the ambiance. I loved the bartenders!
this place is amazing. I made the second reservation while still sitting at the table for the first time- and i'm glad I did. We got completely different things the second time around- and everything is amazing. Will definitely be going back in the future.
I came here not knowing what to expect because it was billed as omakase but that’s not what the menu or the pricing reflected. I’ve heard that omakase is coming in the future though? The Drinks were interesting. I preferred my yanaga highball over my bourbon cocktail. However, the tequila cocktail was great. Sake selection was great. Our server (name escapes me as two days have passed since our visit) was impeccable. (Very tall skinny convivial man.) Food was a 10/10. Every dish we had was great. This was THE Best uni that I’ve had in the city by far. Service wise, my only note would be to include wasabi with the maki courses. Also maybe think about adding more vegetarian options for those diners in the future. That had no effect on our party or meal though. Fantastic job everyone! I brought a finicky diner with me and that was the best meal we’ve ever had with them in a restaurant. I really can’t express how great this place is and how it’s lore approachable than aether was. Kudos
Came here with 2 of my friends for a birthday get together. We had a bottle of Saki for the table, and ordered a bunch of appetizers. We had the short rib bao, beff skewers, octopus skewers, tuna sashimi, shrimp tacos, and the duck rice thing i forget the name. Everything was delicious. We also had a bunch of sushi rolls which included the toro scallion, sea bass, spicy tuna, and soft shell crab. All so fresh and amazing. Cant wait to come back!
The ambiance is super nice! The food is good and server are super nice and professional. Nice place for a date
Very nice and attentive staff. Loved the vibes there! Food was fresh and portioned very well as shareable dishes, that were still very filling! Cocktails were ON POINT! Definitely should try out.
Very cool vibe, great food and excellent service. I will definitely be coming back.
We ordered a smattering of maki which were actually really good. All 4 rolls showed up at once which crowded up the table and made it a bit uncomfortable to eat. Then the two small plates of pork dumplings and mushroom bao came out. Both were average. We also ordered the tan tan ramen which came out cold. The noodles had great bite. Service was lack luster.
Delicious food with excellent service. Make sure you arrive super early if you need to find parking. The parking was a nightmare!
Amazing food, we loved everything we tried. Service was great and all food came out quickly
Kevin Yanaga understands the flavors of sushi better than anyone in this city and this is exactly the setup he needs to prove that
Birthday with friends
Wonderful twist on sushi restaurant. Food was excellent. They need to balance lighting and insulate front door area from cold air flow.
had a great time and all the food was great so was the service
Great food and great service
Food and drinks were so good! Service was great. Can’t wait to go back!
not the best.
food was certainly not bad, but uninspired at the least.
service was hurried. waitress was very rushed. seemed overwhelmed despite half empty restauraunt.
greeter at the door watched as my wife struggled to open the small entrance door and get our stroller inside. didn’t even offer to hold the door. i thought that was a little weird. he also watched as we struggled to get out of the restaurant.
Nice date night with my husband. Food was very good. Cocktails were fancy!
Definitely would go back, but not for a full meal. The drinks were yummy and so was the food but they are still working out the kinks.
The meal is coursed by the chef but all our food came at a rapid fire pace that kind of made us feel rushed. Additionally, the servers cleared plates super quickly which added to the rushed feeling (and we missed some of the yummy extras!)
The food was yummy but… maybe a little overpriced for what you got.
This restaurant has poor acoustics. It is super loud. We went when it was Aether and had the same problem. It’s hard to hear each other across the table. I think some padding on the ceiling walls/help. It’s not their fault, it’s just the space!
Excellent! From the service, food and cocktails. We have a new favorite restaurant.
Food was excellent - very impressed with the flavor and care placed into the dishes served. Definitely the most flavorful ramen I have had in Philadelphia and the the sashimi and maki were quality fish and quite tasty. One downside, it is very noisy in the Izakaya - so if looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the place. I am looking forward to the omekase portion of the space to open and have high expectations. Overall, recommend Izakaya by Yanaga!
Food was amazing, the vibes were perfect for a date night.
Went out for a casual dinner date; the food was delicious and the server was friendly!
food was pretty good and the servers were friendly. nice ambiance. my only critique would be the timing at which the food came out. by the time we ordered, within 5 minutes we had 6 dishes on our table at once which was a bit overwhelming and took away from the total experience of enjoying each plate. the restaurant is new however and i could tell they were still getting used to the flow of things, and so i will be back because overall i was satisfied with my experience and i’m curious to see how the restaurant will continue to improve.
