Ivy at the Shore
The Ivy’s tropical counterpart Ivy at the Shore offers the same delicious food plus icy island drinks, a 12-seat bamboo bar and surfside view. Don’t miss the sunset over the Pacific with a pineapple daiquiri or two.
I always like going to this reatraunt and try something new. The staff and food is amazing. It’s always an expierience
A reminder that Ivy at the Shore still provides a wonderful dinner venue with a great view of Ocean Boulevard and the Santa Monica pier, along with good food and great ambiance. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it.
Disappointed that we did not get champagne or cookies as is typical
We have been dining at the Ivy at the Shore, from it’s beginning. We dine there for everyday meals & special occasions. We have hosted several la parties there too.
I don’t know what has happened?
the food was overall bland...
And the new vases with the beautiful roses are too tall.
The dinner was perfect
Dessert was over done and could be better
I've always loved it there and still do. Of course it's expensive but you know that going in. It's an experience. So romantic and food was great. Waiter was also great.
The Ivy’s food and drinks are absolutely delicious! The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance and cozy feel. Service is a little slow but overall a good experience!
Food/ drinks and service are all amazing— great place for a family meal.
Beautiful restaurantant and great food! You have to try their scones
Awesome as always. Service and food exceptional.
The Ivy is always a great spot. We go every time we are in Santa Monica. Beautiful sunsets, great cocktails, good food and attentive service.
Stopped at Ivy for a light lunch. The imlets were delicious! We split a crab salad, which was more than enough food. Delicious bread. Tjere is a valet, however we parked around the corner at a public ramp for onsiserably less money. A splurgy delicious place for a meal.
We enjoyed lunch at the Ivy. It’s in a great location and is decorated beautifully. The service was mixed but the food was excellent and plentiful. Very expensive.
Exceptional service and food! It was a whole experience:
The hostess was very rude when we politely inquired how tall she is - she is quite tall. She said it was a personal question and wouldn’t answer. I apologized and said I Blu had compliment for her she stays I asked a question and was still very rude.I felt very badly but she was very rude.
Great experience. Lovely food and excellent service. A must when staying in Santa Monica
The stuff is unfriendly! And the food is so so
Food was great but surprised me with the $27 price tag on the mimosa... felt like the waiter was always trying to upcharge us
Great food and service.
This place has packed so many tables in its chaos. We sat down and got up and left. Ivy has lost their way
Lunch with my family. Great experience. We will come back!
My tomato/cheese omelet was tasteless and mostly tomatoes. My friend wasn’t thrilled with her chopped salad. The scones and dessert were yummy. Very overpriced which we knew but not enjoying our meals wasn’t expected. We usually eat at the Ivy on Robertson but we’re celebrating a birthday of a friend that lives at the beach.
What a disappointment the ivy is now. No champagne upon check in and no free cookies. My entree of fish curry with rice had hard rice kernels. Our waiter was rushed and left us alone for periods that just were too long without checking in. The price was super high for six people and the quality just wasn’t there. We should’ve been notified when we made the res about
The changes. We have been long time patrons of the ivy at the shore for family bdays and special occasions and we no longer will be choosing the ivy. It feels like a tourist trap now. What a shame.
Lovely time with family.
Not a comparable experience to the original IVY
The Ivy at the Shore is Out to Sea and Has Lost All Sight of Land. The Warm Welcoming Days of YesterYear Have Disappeared right into the Pacific Mist. Hospitality is now a Foreigner in this Former Neighborhood Oasis. The Hosts are as cold as the entrees. The wait staff are as abrasive as the crabcakes. The owners' arrogance give Parisians a bad name. Little wonder the entire staff seem to disdain working there. The chef high tailed it and took most of the menu with him. The Ivy at the Shore Has Lost its Way. 1 Star is A Generous Rating.
Service was not as good as usual. Forgot to bring appetizers, didn’t split dish as requested, and charged for mistakes. Have been coming here for years abc didn’t live up to our expectations tonight.
Amazing, busy restaurant . Great service and didn’t have to wait for food even though they were busy. Lovely happy ambience , great menu options . Crab cakes were awesome and stuffed lobster with crab was delicious . Great portion sizes .
So cheerful with all of the fresh roses. Very romantic, good for all occasions really.
Our entrees were all very good, from the fried chicken to the salmon. But the Caesar Salad and dressing had very little flavor, except for the anchovy. And the Red Velvet dessert cake had a thin, flavorless frosting, where we were expecting a thick, rich cream cheese frosting. Also, we really miss the complimentary cookies to take home.
My friend had never been there before and thought it was wonderful. I missed the old amenities!
This place is an amazing! The deco is stunning, the service professional and informative, but not stuffy, the cocktails are delicious and the food was great. We were not cocktail drinkers normally, but they sounded so good we had to try them. They did not disapoint. Already recommended to a few friends.
It was great love the food it was my third time dinning there and I will go again
They used to serve a complimentary glass of bubbly upon arrival, but not this time. I also didn’t appreciate being charged ~$8 for 1 glass of iced green tea.
Restaurant is short staffed. One waiter and one bus boy covering entire outdoor area. Service was not fitting to the quality of food, ambiance and price.
Bottles of wine are priced really well but 38 bucks for a Caesar salad with shrimp is too expensive!! Relaxing vibe tho
I have been going to the Ivy at the Shore for many, many years. It was always the place we went to for special occasions, birthday parties, graduation dinner’s, dinners for out of town guests. The last three times were disappointing but Friday night will be my LAST time. It was my sisters birthday who lives in New York, and I thought the Ivy would be the perfect place to celebrate. There were seven of us. First of all, we didn’t get the complimentary champagne. The crabcakes were overcooked and dry, the gumbo was watery, and the Caesar salad was ordinary. I recommended the fried chicken, and four of us ordered it. It was thin, overcooked, dry, and had no flavor. I told our waiter, and he said that the chef now makes it this way because chicken needs to be cooked through. WHAT????? There was a problem with the bill as well. We didn’t get the complementary cookies at the end. I now understand that the ship paid and cookies are no longer offered. This is a very expensive restaurant, and the bill reflected it. The food and service is not worth the cost of the meal. I will never go back.
VERY INATTENTIVE service. This restaurant has run its course.
The waitress who served us is THE BEST. We love her. We go to The shore Ivy all the time. They made a jarger table for us in a blink and my martini was filled to the tippy top. The food is too good! Can parking take credit cards please
The atmosphere is beautiful- I felt like I was in a Parisian cafe. The service was very good and the food was excellent. My daughter and I enjoyed a lovely brunch together!
