Ivy at the Shore Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated our Anniversary with 9am Brunch on a Sat. Great table in Atrium - Service was very warming and friendly. Nice touch of free champagne from the Waiter. First time I ever had a whole lobster scramble. It was worth the cost !
Great fresh scones were offered as well. Delicious all around!
Thanks to staff for a great celebration experience.
Ivy at the Shore is a lovely restaurant, great service, food always good but it is ridiculously over-priced, with entrees costing $40+ and not THAT amazing. I took 4 people as a special occasion but it will be a long time before I go again, given that for 5 people the bill was $500.
We ordered the burratta & beet salad to start. Unfortunately, the burratta was bitter & "off". Our wonderful waiter offered us a substitute & removed it from our bill. The service is always extraordinary at the Ivy.
It's definitely gotten very pricey over the years. I will probably just visit for a very special date.
The Hot Fudge & Butterscotch sundae was divine.
Continue to appreciate this Ivy more and more over the one on Robertson which is filled with tourists and a few industry people - the Ivy at the Shore is less noisy, the service is great and the menu is always chock full of flavorful dishes
This store is far more comfortable then Robertson where tables are so close you feel like you involved in two conversations!
Try the chicken, fresh fish and Risoto plus the best Coconut Cake in town! I’m a local and this is my casual restaurant with The Sunset Tower my favorite for more formal nights with friends and clients.
We love to come to Ivy to celebrate girlfriends birthdays! They do such a good job being attentive and we love the offer of champagne when you get there as well as the sparkler
for the desert! We always order the grilled vegetable salad with chicken or shrimp and
the brown bread is the best!
This was an adult Birthday celebration. Lunch was out of this world expensive. A Crab Salad for $32.95 was a lettuce mix topped with crab - not a salad. Similarly, other salads that were more expensive were lots of lettuces topped with shrimp or chicken. The problem for us and others is that it was impossible to visit because this restaurant is so noisy with no noise abatement measures. Bread was ordinary wheat. We left because we couldn't hear one another - very disappointing. We won't make this mistake again!
Heard that the restaurant was a luxury who's who with really great asthetics. The reception and customer service was top notch. The aesthetics could habe been better. I expected luxury, but things appeared to need upgrades (cheap chairs, rocky tables, bad floors, cheesy restroom). Food was great, but not exceptional for the prices. Seemed like any coastal cafe.
Another fanatastic lunch at the IVY! The complimentary glass of champagne as you arrive! The lovely seating outside on the patio with fresh cut flowers on the table! We devoured the swordfish and asked to have it served with spinach and tomatoes..Wow...They served it with thick slices of prefectly ripe herloom tomatoes and the swordfish was perfectly cooked. Delicious. Love this place!
Love the free glass of champagne upon being greeted by the hostess. Found the pricing high and lacked options. I live in Aspen and Laguna Beach so very familiar with over pricing but this was the most ambishious I've ever seen. Food quality was average. It was on my bucket list, will not be returning. Love the Ivy on Robertson.
4 for dinner early Saturday night. Efficient check- in, with gratis champagne in hand ,we head to the table. Our server,, Antoinette. Remembered us from a visit 10 days ago. The wild cod was great, the crab salad and burrata w/ beet salads were good, the crab cakes had too little crab !
Red velvet cake always a 10.. We all really enjoy the vibe at Ivy at the Shore- really miss the ribs on the menu.
I used to come here a lot with my wife, so we decided to try it again for her birthday. It was disappointing for the most part. Overly crowded and mediocre food. Somehow this place has lost its luster over time. Okay for first-timers to Santa Monica, but otherwise it's a pass.
Sadly we did not enjoy The Ivy. Whilst there a few areas that were disappointing the primary concern was that our main meals came to the table before we had finished our starters with no offer to take them back to the kitchen. It was made clear that thus was because we had a late booking. If this is the case do not offer late bookings as I know there were several later bookings after ours. Clearly I would not recommend this restaurant
