Lovely decor, beautiful fresh flowers throughout, great service. Pricy, but very nice, from the complimentary champagne and scones, to the cookies to go at the conclusion of out breakfast. The French toast was yummy. My husband enjoyed his spicy egg dish; the kids liked their pancakes and huevos tomatillo. The fresh juice was delicious. My only comment would be that the coffee cools too fast in the giant oversized coffee cups used - though the cheerful hand painted ceramic ware is part of the charm.
Food was very good, highly recommend crab cakes and the fried chicken lived up to all the reviews!
The sound level was really high and difficult to have a conversation till the end of the night when people were leaving.
Way too expensive for the value. Disappointing really.
Great Made my gf birthday extra special and was amazing
Wonderful evening. Food and service exceptional! A complimentary glass of champagne welcomed us at the door. Bright and cheery decor with beautiful fresh flowers everywhere. Will definitely be back!
I normally love this place, order seafood and am never disappointed. One of the best restaurants on the West Side. However, I was disappointed in the NY Strip steak. My wife's filet was great. The filet, no so much. Overall, I will always recommend The Ivy to anyone, but stick to the seafood. The Lobster Cobb is heavenly!
Visiting from out of town
A bevy of colors awaits as you ease into the magical world of the Ivy at the shore.
Friendly, well appointed staff. Not a detail had been overlooked.
I’ll definitely be returning!
I always love my visits to Ivy at the Shore! It is the perfect place for a great time with great food and service! From the first step in the door being greeted with a glass of champagne, to the cookies at the end, everything in between is perfect!
Amazing evening, amplified by our outstanding, attentive waiter!!! Food was great, flavors were so balanced and fresh. Loved the cod and branzino specials. Notably, our waiter really made the evening- He had our mouths watering in anticipation of every item, with the authenticity and locality of the ingredients for each menu item. The special touches were remarkable, bringing cushions for my 8 yr old daughter, so she was at an equal table height to us. Such a wonderfully memorable evening!!!
The food was good but not nearly worth the price tag. The servers could barely be bothered seating us and seemed to have an attitude when serving.
My love for The Ivy will continue forever! Being handed a glass of champagne when you enter basically sets the mood for an amazing meal. This was our first time to the sea side location, we were traveling with 4 teens & 2 under 10. The menu offers something for everyone, my personal favorite is the lobster tacos although it was rather spicy this time which is the only reason I put 4* for food. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, the atmosphere is wonderful & you never know who you’ll see if you keep your eyes open. Staff is always so lovely.
Had the most amazing Easter meal and service! Love the ambiance too.
Great food great waiters great restaurant
I have come to Ivy at the Shore for years, we were put in a room with noisy kids against a wall and they didn’t have the regular dish i always order because it was Easter, they should have told me that when i made the reservation
Took my wife and two kids (4/2) for Easter breakfast. Food was outstanding, service was on point, and ambiance / decor was second to none. Always love dining at the Ivy on the Shore when visiting LA!
I’ve been many times and it’s a perennial favorite. This last visit everything was so on. The service was perfect and the food was delicious with so many great options.
I will continue to make The Ivy a part of my LA visits.
Always a great choice. Service is spot on. Food is delicious.
Incredible food. Excellent environment. Great service. Hot heaters on porch. Most incredible Tarte Tartin in the world. Highly recommend Ivy at the Shore!
Wonderful pasta with seafood. Good but not great ribs. Excellent drinks and a spectacular server.
Great spot for girls’ lunch. Extensive menu, great view, excellent service and you’re handed a glass of champagne when you enter. Perf!
Great service and food. Too loud
Food was awful-all dishes for a party of five. It was always very good in the past, but I will not go back. There are many alternatives in Santa Monica.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was friendly, but I think the waitstaff could’ve been more attentive.
Not sure what LA people are used to but this place is a scam, prices are way to high for quality of food that you can see( no lights,No heat) they take advantage of people. They sell a glass of wine for 22.00 which sell a for 15 a bottle in a store. 42 for pizza with a few pieces of lobster on it. I could go on. And rude owners..I think ur Legend is done..
Chic vintage beach with thousands of fresh roses of every color in vases on the tables in true Ivy fashion. Food superb, free champagne on arrival, desserts fantastic and great coffee. Will return!
Unfortunately there was an incredibly loud table very close to us that negatively affected our experience.
Atmosphere at the Ivy is always awesome. Have only been for dinner to the Beverly Hills location and not the Santa Monica location. Lunch was pleasant, the pizza however was more like a flatbread with some raw toppings on it. Otherwise the food was delicious. Reese Witherspoon was seated behind us too!
Our server, Antoinette, is superb. Her over all approach to make everything perfect is refreshing. She is a super star.
Poor menu, few options, basically just some kinds of eggs for breakfast time. No pancakes, salads, fruits, muffins or anything else.
Always delicious, fun, and expensive but worth it!
The food is good but very expensive. We eat a lot in the Santa Monica area and the food costs more than most high end restaurants. We had to ask the service help to turn down the bar music because it was blaring. The decor is classic and help is generally good but not worth the price.
Sat us 45 minutes late clearly caters to locals
Not worth the $$
Too dark, too noisy and overpriced
Everything was outstanding, service, food, atmosphere, a free glass of champagne, free cookies etc. But not cheap.
This visit to the Ivy at the Shore was our families splurge and special dining event for our vacation. We have visited The Ivy before and loved it so much. This visit to the The Ivy at the Shore was horrible. Service was down right pathetic. I get better service at McDonalds. After several times complaining for water refill they did not correct the situation and start getting us better service. We didn’t receive our bar drink orders until after our food arrived and when we asked they weren’t even apologetic. Absolutely worst experience ever.
Delightfully charming, cheerful, almost feminine. Packed with roses, waiters in pink with floral ties, it was entirely an analog experience. Noone was on their phone. Everyone was engaged. A softly lit environment with some outdoor seating. The food was delicious and the service warm and appropriately timed. Everyone seemed to be enjoying one another.
Food came too fast ( it must have been Pre-cooked)
Onion rings had thick batter dripping w/ grease but were cold
Wines by the glass were like what you find at Appleby’s
Crab salad was all cartilage
Prices were insanely high
