Ivy at the Shore
The Ivy’s tropical counterpart Ivy at the Shore offers the same delicious food plus icy island drinks, a 12-seat bamboo bar and surfside view. Don’t miss the sunset over the Pacific with a pineapple daiquiri or two.
The atmosphere is beautiful- I felt like I was in a Parisian cafe. The service was very good and the food was excellent. My daughter and I enjoyed a lovely brunch together!
We have been going to the one on Roberson for years and is a must when we come to town. This one is very good , same food quality yet the should have the same ambience! They should do the Champaign when you enter and create the vibe like at the other place. This place is huge and was dead yet the food is the same excellent quality
The place is nice. When you wait and give your name you can grab a drink at the bar then you’ll hear people come around and tap your shoulder and ask if you’re a bunch of different people while they find peoples tables. Matt? Chris? Steven?
Service was also wanting. Waiting 15 minutes from plates to be cleared after eating, server hamming it up with a drunk lady beside us, another 15 minutes for the bill.
Food was pretty good and ambiance was great. That’s what you’re there for.
We went for Valentine’s dinner which was quite lovely. The restaurant was packed. My husband and I shared oysters to start and they were delicious. He had the filet which he thought was perfect. My dish was the Chilean sea bass with a curry broth. It was incredible and memorable. Dinner at the Ivy is always a special evening. Oh, don’t forget to order a passion fruit martinis!!!
Stone crabs were terrible. Rip off. Salad was marginal. Fish was delicious.
The service was fabulous! I believe our servers name was Sina and he could not have provided a better service on Valentine’s. It was a busy night and we had our 4 year old with us. He truly offered everything to accommodate a child. He was friendly, helpful and attentive. The best service we may have ever had. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner.
Amazing shrimp tacos!
Lovely ambience and excellent service as always although food was just ok.
VERY VERY disappointed with Ivy at the Shore! We have been here several times this being the very worst. Food was not what you would expect for the Ivy. For our 6 pm reservation, the Stone Crab claws were already sold out however the little card was still left in all of our menus. Service was glacially slow but due to the fact that our server was overwhelmed with several new tables at once. The Blackened Swordfish was bland and tasteless, even the Caesar salads were watery and limp. The other dishes we ordered were equally forgettable and overall we were so disappointed.
The menu has changed as of January 2019 and it is for the worse. I have been eating at the Ivy since 1988. It seems like they have new ownership. No glass of champagne at greeting, no scotch smoked salmon pizza, and alas - no return visits for me.
What an incredible experience ! Service was outstanding and food was out of this world. Impeccable presentation loved loved loved everything. 🌸🌸🍃🌸🍃
Beautiful roses on all tables add natural beauty to an elegant yet casual interior. Fabulous mojito and melt in your mouth swordfish.
Exquisite garden decor and delicious food always.
My favorite place to visit while in LA.
The best restaurant on Ocean Ave. Amazing seafood, great ambiance!!
Service has gone downhill here
The workers were very helpful in setting up a birthday luncheon that we threw there. It was a lovely setting for an afternoon celebration.
I noted it was my friend’s birthday on my Open Table reservation. No one brought my friend the Sparkler.
They’ve eliminated the welcome champagne, free cookies.
One bottle of water was $9.75 plus tax tip.
Food was good. Gorgeous place.
We arrived around 9:45am on Sunday. The service was great. Their fresh squeezed juices are delicious. Menu has some classics and innovative items. Their scones are delicious. We had a fantastic experience. Can’t wait to return!
Great service. Love their brunch. Can't wait to go back.
We went for lunch and the waiter and service staff were fantastic. It is unfortunate because the food is so awful. I couldn’t believe it. I had fried chicken and it was terrible and my husband had a pizza and it was mediocre. The prices were high for such terrible food. The location and ambiance of the restaurant is great. If they got a new chef it would be a 5 star experience.
I was embarrased by the service. My clients tasted the wine per recommendations and turned away two bottles after tasting. They ended up ordering two of the most expensive bottles of wine on menu. They loved that wine and drank it all. When the bill came it had all four bottles of wine on the bill. The waiter apologized for leaving the first bottle of wine on but said he had to leave the second bottle on. He never mentioned that after the second tasting. The waiter had to call the owner before taking it off the bill. This is wrong at multiple levels: 1) By even leaving the first bottle on the bill, he should have comped the something and 2) he should have said something adter the second tasting... and even 3) He should have know from the OWNERS what to do in that situation.
After all that, my client would not let me pay the bill! It sucked.
Excellent spicy Bloody Mary! We had top notch service, attentive and gave helpful suggestions when asked. The food was wonderful, overall a very relaxing and enjoyable Sunday brunch!
We sat on the patio and enjoyed a delicious lunch on a a gorgeous day. All of the waitstaff were so friendly and professional. The presentation was beautiful and the food and drinks were exactly as we desired. We would love to go back next time we are in Los Angeles!
Must have new ownership, NOT the Ivy I always loved. Food is cheap fried garbage. Turned into a tourist trap.
My husband took me here for my birthday and it was a special night with amazing food and cocktails and a fun and festive atmosphere.
My daughter had been here before for dinner and really liked it- so we tried dinner. The food did not disappoint. We had tuna tartare and calamari appetizers- both which were fabulous. Our entrees were all delicious too. We were seated outside and it was very dark and hard to see - the menu or even what was on your plate. Also our server was not very attentive so we were left waiting or unattended for long periods of time.
Such a beautiful restaurant. Roses throughout, just beautiful. Service is impeccable, attentive and friendly. The food has creative dishes and comfort dishes so everyone should be pleased. It was the right choice for our anniversary and I look forward to returning soon.
Poor service. Bad food. Not sure what happened this time but I reported the issues to management and nobody seemed to care. I’ve eaten here plenty of times and never had this experience. Hopefully this is an anomaly.
Classy yet not stuffy, festive yet elegant. Food was delicious, well-portioned, and drinks delicious and not underpoured, if you know what I mean. And going for a stroll on the boardwalk or the pier afterwards is divine! Excellent location, friendly staff - top-notch in every way.
Had a very nice dinner at this classic place for my wife's birthday.
Food was great but service was nothing to rave about almost seemed rude and never checked on us.
ALWAYS great. My “go to” local restaurant. But.... sad they have decided to stop giving us the most amazing chocolate chip cookies ever as you leave. Hi
Beautiful location, delicious meals, wonderful experience!
Champagne upon arrival = gone
Service below average as staff seemed stretched
Food wasn’t as good as usual
Parking attendants tried to short-change me (theft)
Been going there for 10-15yrs
Recently doesn’t feel the same
May never go back
Plenty of alternatives
Don't know what's going on over there but I have been coming here since they opened and the last 2 times have been markedly different than they were even last year. My guess is they have been affected by the bottom line and needed to do some tightening up on their ways of the past. Gone is the spectacular floral at the check in desk, the complimentary champagne and the crazy beautiful birthday plate. Our waiter said people weren't ordering dessert but opting for the birthday plate instead, so they just changed it to a single serving size and cut out a few items. I really don't understand the change in the floral since they grow their own roses. Their signature crab cakes, which have always been my gold standard, were burnt and dry last time and undercooked and seems to be a different mixture this time. Gumbo was great, shrimp tacos were good but the smoked salmon benedict was served on burnt brioche buns. So sad my go to place for a celebration seems to be changing and not for the better. The service however, still remains outstanding with engaging wait staff and extremely efficient.
Restaurant was half empty but we were still seated in back dining room total lack of appropriate behavior by hostess wasn’t worth objecting
Ivy at the Shore is a classic So Cal spot and it did not disappoint! Great views from the outdoor patio which was lovely even on a cold January afternoon. The food was tasty and used fresh ingredients. And the staff
provided excellent service. We will be coming back!
The grew up going to the Ivy and have fond memories of amazing food and presentation — even the way the food was plated on beautiful dishes was part of the experience. The only thing that was the same was the ambiance, plates and hot delicious bread, the remainder was marginal. I wonder if it is a new owner who is trying to translate something but somehow lost the essence of what made it an outstanding restaurant.
