Ivy at the Shore
The Ivy’s tropical counterpart Ivy at the Shore offers the same delicious food plus icy island drinks, a 12-seat bamboo bar and surfside view. Don’t miss the sunset over the Pacific with a pineapple daiquiri or two.
Service was impeccable and the atmosphere lovely. A perfect place to meet my friends for lunch.
Pros : Great delicious food. Fun decor. Excellent service and terrific drinks.
Cons: Hard, hard chairs. Much too hard if you have a bad back.
Our family had the best experience there. Aintonette is our favorite server and we ask for her every time we go. All the recommendations she offered us were fabulous and we truly look forward to the next time we go to the Ivy again.
One of our favorites spots to eat - each meal is prepared perfectly with attention to every detail. Their wait staff are phenomenal and seem to magically appear at the perfect time. They used to give to a small bag of cookies/treats when you left, so a bit disappointed that stopped.
Very nice Thanksgiving dinner. A classy joint run by professionals.
Thanksgiving dinner. Delicious food
The IVY’s kitchen is consistently talented, but they manage to do more with turkey dishes than most restaurants we’ve ever tried. This makes them a definite ‘must’ at holiday time.
It was great but a cold day! Chilly open air!
Ivy at the Shore is a classic. Great food, great service, great ambiance. It’s a win every time.
The Ivy at The Shore is consistently good. I never have a bad meal and the overall experience is always great.
Like an overpriced Olive Garden without the free salad. The food was very disappointing and tasted like something I could have made myself. My wife had the fish tacos which were barely average. I had a $36 dish of over-cooked fusilli covered in amazingly bland sauce. Even the pre-dinner bread was below average. This restaurant is one to avoid.
What a dump. Avoid this place at all costs. The service was terrible, the food was terrible, the atmosphere was terrible. The guy at the check in desk was miserable. The overall experience was awful.
Very good atmosphere and food.
Never had a better fine dining experience with our children. The service was wonderful, catered to our kiddos and also ensured we had a nice adult dinner. The Ivy is a long time favorite of mine and keeps getting better!
Server had too many tables so the wait between ordering our drinks and then ordering our food was way too long. Maybe 20 minutes. Other than that the Ivy always comes thru for a birthday or any type of celebration.
Great place to eat in Santa Monica. Consistent and worthy of its reputation.
The husband and I each ordered the fritto misto. It was the equivalent of any you can get at any seaside restaurant (albeit a large portion). But the price was about twice what you would expect to pay at an ordinary place.
The tarte tatin that we shared for dessert, however was superb. I just wish the main course had been on the same level.
The portion was smaller then usual not fare 35$ for vegetable salad and that lees and smallest portion ever.
Great service and delicious food and lovely staff. A contrast to some of the experiences we have had at newer restaurants.
Favorite place for my wife's BD. Food is always great. Love the grilled veggie salad with chicken. And don't pass on the Ivy Gimlet!
Love this restaurant and all the patrons. Amazing service as always.
Lunch with friend
Food and service spectacular as always, but we had the worst table in the venue, likely because we changed the number in our party so many times. Unfortunately, where you sit makes a big difference in the overall impression. Nevertheless, I'm glad we ate there!
We were seated in the sun room which did not have any ambiance or cute decor. It was hot and just not a very fun experience- just like tourist seated in the worst section with the rest of the tourist. The restaurant was not full at all. Wouldn’t book there again.
Food is tasty and service is good but very expensive.
I took my daughter here for her bday 2 years ago and the service down to the complimentary cookies was top notch. It was my bday this time and the subtle touches like the cookies we expected from the IVY just wasn’t there. The hostess was cold too. The server did his best as my daughter was very ansy at the table. Charging $12 for a kids apple juice is a rip off!!!!!! Also the table next to us wished me a happy birthday but nothing from the restaurant. Like I said these subtle touches to make us come back again are gone. I still love the one in WeHo.
Service was horrible.
Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary. Didn’t receive anything special for our special day not even an acknowledgement.
One of my favorite restaurants. The service and atmosphere are both excellent.
Had a fantastic experience at the Ivy. Our waiter, Rob, was incredibly helpful
Very disappointing experience. While the place was cute it was very noisy, food mediocre and service poor.
I love Ivy at the Shore. So friendly. So beautiful, so delicious- every time. 💓🌴🌸
The hostess was super rude but everything else was good
Much better than the now tourist-trappy Ivy on Robertson, the cottage chic meets Key West-looking Ivy at the Shore maintains the quality these two California fresh restaurants established decades ago. Whether the fresh fruit daiquiris, myriad fresh fruit pulp Bellinis, iced tea served with a fresh sugar cane stirrer or an incredibly well-curated wine list, all thirsts are quenched...
And then there are the onion rings! As well as the famous grilled vegetable salad, the burrata that melts, the chèvre stuffed zucchini blossoms to start. There are fresh pastas, several ways to have your lobster and wickedly delicious enchiladas. You can get your protein from the grill, your fish blackened or sautéed and your chicken with tandoori spices.
For desert, the banana split is the decadent but childlike decision. Or just have a fresh mint tea and some cookies.
All served by the most charming waiters, who know how to be attentive and engage without being obtrusive. They also know how to light up a birthday, congratulatory meal or, well, almost any occasion.
THE IVY USED TO SET THE STANDARD FOR. OUTSTANDING FOOD……..UNFORTUNATELY THAT NO LONGER EXISTS.
Always love our meals at this restaurant. Although a bit pricey, you do get ample portions of food, delicious meals and impeccable service. Never disappoints!!
We go to The Ivy or Ivy at the Shore at least once a month and always have an amazing time, meal and the staff is always friendly and the drinks are great, food is consistently delicious. I would highly recommend either location for a special occasion or just to grab a bit for brunch, lunch or dinner! Enjoy
Always a great experience!
