This is really a bar and not recommended for food. 20 minutes to receive the drink order, 40 minutes for the appetizer and 80 minutes for the entree. After the long wait, food was mediocre.

The service was very slow - we already finished the appetizer before our dinner order came and they brought out one half of the dinners 15 minutes before the other two. The pork confit was very dry.

We arrived for our reservation and had to wait 20 min to be seated. They then told us they were understaffed and food would take over an hour. We had a show to catch so we just got drinks and had to leave. Waste of time.

Short: Management please don’t seat people if you can’t serve them. Long: We showed up for a 6:15pm reservation and got drinks ordered as well as apps and entrees early as we had an 8:00pm show next door. The apps came out without plates/napkins/silverware and we tried notifying our waitress several times with no response. 20 minutes after apps came out they brought plates but apps were cold. An hour and 15 minutes after ordering with still no food we were told twice by our waitress that she’d check on how long our order was out but we’re given no updates. Finally we spoke with the manager who took another 10 minutes to see that we still had an order in front of ours (not a busy night), but that they were short staffed. We had to leave to catch our show and we’re disappointed the manager didn’t try to do anything to make our dining experience better. We would’ve rather been told that they couldn’t serve us or didn’t have enough staff up front so we could eat before our show. Overall bad experience, poor communication, and no significant effort from staff or management to resolve the situation. Recommend avoiding for date night.

We have always been on the Ivy side. Not sure why but we were sent to the Varley side. The music was loud and made conversation for the group of 4 a little difficult. Service was pretty slow. With that said, the food as always was great. Drinks were good too.

I think Ivy has the best patio dining in Salt Lake. We had the Gnocchi entrée and Lavender Goat Cheese appetizer, both were excellent. The hostess was not very friendly or accommodating, but our server was outstanding.

Service was strange and slow. Drinks came out after appetizer. Spouse’s meal did not come out as ordered. Burger was not good. Tip options are 20, 25, and 30% and 25% is the default. I’d go elsewhere.

Arrived for a 7:00 reservation at 7:00 and waited 10 minutes to be seated… waited at least ten minutes for our server to show up and take our orders… drinks and food were pretty good just not our vibe… we felt the servers and hostesses are way too cool to be bothered by us peasants and were more concerned w gossiping

Pleasantly surprised at diversity of ambiance, friendliness of all staff and good food. Having resided across the street from restaurant for 7 years, it was my first visit!!! Glad I did and certainly will again!!!!

We went for a date night, and it was quiet and comfortable. Drinks were great and reasonably priced, food was filling and tasted wonderful. Service was also great, staff was very friendly. Overall great experience, worth trying out.

They wouldn’t sit us on the patio even though I reserved the patio. They made an error and put someone else in our reserved spot. They were out of two wines I requested and then the music was so low there was no ambience at all.

There must be something broken with the Open Table to Ivy and Varley connection because I specifically made a reservation for outside on Open Table, only for the hostess to rudely say she doesn't have it and outside was "fully booked". The email confirmations don't mention where you request the reservation so I feel like that information doesn't get sent. The food was really good but we were there for a bachelorette party and I felt the inside didn't match the mood of the night like the outside would've. Pretty disappointed in that and won't be returning for anything special since it doesn't seem like you can count on them. Maybe try calling the restaurant directly, either way, I am kind of over it.

If you can, sit outside! It's perfect out there! We ordered the everything brussel sprouts and the fried goat cheese to start. Both were great. I got the Verde breakfast sandwich which was awesome but the potatoes were a major let down compared to all the other food. As for the drinks, well, our server must be new cause she never checked back on us. She was nice but didn't seem to know what was fully going on.

Came in for brunch with friends, the staff although friendly failed to submit our order so we sat there for about an hour before he came over and informed us what had happened. We finally received our order and the food was very bland and lukewarm. I have been in for dinner and really enjoyed it, it’s too bad this time was a total failure.

Disappointed with the server not checking in regularly, the special was bland, the strawberry salad had one with too much balsamic dressing, the other overwhelming cheese. Brussel sprouts were incredible, the soup was too. Just wish the main dishes were the same.

We ordered the brussel sprouts for an appetizer and they were fantastic. I don't know what sauces they added, but "mind-blowing". I then had the Chicken Caprese sandwich and again it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. The waitress recommended the Banana ____ Old Fashioned and it did not disappoint. Still alcohol forward as an old fashioned should be, but with a really fun banana aroma.

The food was delicious. I had the Thyme cocktail & the Wagyu burger with fries. The burger was nice, and the fries were some of the best I have ever had (literally!) and the Lavender Lemon bar for my birthday dessert. We were seated inside (raining that day) next to a window. Lots of plants indoors as well for a lovely ambiance.

Food was delicious, particularly the beet hummus! Service was ok - our server rarely came to the table unless we flagged her down, and didn’t offer the specials until asked. But food and drinks were delivered quickly. Restaurant was very loud, but a fun atmosphere.

food was amazing and the environment was so nice. it was wonderful not to hear children screaming and whining. our server, katie, was so observant and diligent. she overheard me telling my friend happy birthday and she came and brought us a dessert without even asking. she kept our water filled and she checked on us often and was so friendly and sweet! she was the best part of the entire dinner honestly!

Great service. Great good at a good value. Large portions. One complaint: The music was so loud we had a hard time carrying on a conversation with our group. If we get seated outside we would definitely come back. If I had to sit inside and they had the music as loud I would think twice about it.
