This is my second time to this restaurant and it has been absolutely wonderful on both visits! Highly recommend the gem salad and gnocchi. However, I don't think you will be disappointed with anything on the menu. Our whole table really enjoyed everything, the service was great, and the ambience is upscale/ casual. Can't wait to try the patio this spring!

I went here with two friends for dinner and we decided to share a few appetizers, salad, entree and soup. Each one was absolutely delicious. The Brussels sprouts were some of the best I’ve had, the sweet potato soup and Mac n cheese were unique and so good. We also loved the kimchi and rice bowl. Highly recommend the food here! The service was also very friendly.

Came in for lunch. I believe they were short staffed, so our food was very slow. Our server was great, but we noticed she was busing her own tables, which explains slow service. Brussels were delicious, but way over dressed, as was the salad. Veggie burger, so so. Good cocktails, but small. That’s Utah though. Also, they did not have a single one of the wines by the glass that we wanted on the menu, or two off the bottles.

The food was good. The Brussel sprouts were very good. I thought the red snapper was prepared well but the pairing of the snapper with the very heavy sauce overwhelmed the fish. But overall very nice place.

Excellent service and attention from Carter. Our group enjoyed walking over from the Eccles and immediately being seated. The brussels sprouts and gnocchi were absolutely delicious! Cravable! I will definitely be back!

Berbere Spiced Carrots were the highlight and the best carrots I’ve ever had and second isn’t close. Compliments to the chef! Grilled Beet Hummus with roti was extremely good. Had been looking forward to the Brussels Sprouts. Outer crispy part and sauce with seasonings was good, but sprouts were the largest I’ve ever seen and were tough and tasteless inside. Waiter was awesome and comped the dish. Will try again next time. Smoke and rain cocktail was quite pleasant. Will come back again!

This is a cute spot downtown. The food was good! Nothing special, but definitely good. The best thing on the menu thag our party tried were the Brussel sprouts. The burger wasn’t the best, so I’d stay clear of that.

Absolutely garbage. Sat down in a table in corner. Waited 10 minutes - no one came by the table. 2 wait staff were standing around In the back on their phone. Made eye contact. No dice. Hostess walked by twice and made eye contact but did not stop or say anything. We walked out then she yelled “have a good night” on the way out. What a failure of a restaurant.

I ordered the marinated olives is chili oil, lemon peel and rosemary as the menu said. We received a bowl of olives with seeds and no seasoning. I told the waitress that is not what was on the menu. She went back to the kitchen, came back and said sorry. The kitchen staff grabbed the wrong olives. As a waitress, you should know and be checking your food before you take it out. Weird. I ordered the Cashew Kimchi Bowl. It had good flavor. A lot of rice but it was ok. Friend ordered the chicken sandwich and thought it was good.

The food was greasy and burnt, they did not have any milk alternatives, the server did not come by and when we asked for a coffee refill, they brought just one cup of coffee for two people on the table. The food seemed pre-made and lacked any flavor. The service was sub-par. Would not recommend.

Started out slow as Laura lacked personality and did not give us the experience we were so hoping for. Thank god Zach(host) stopped by and added to our dinner. Drinks were well thought and food was DELICIOUS. Thanks for a good time as our experience was turned around by the end.

Our first visit to Ivy & Varley after attending a Utah Symphony performance was excellent. All of the servers were very attentive, and the ambience was beautiful. The food was excellent and I am looking forward to exploring their cocktail menu a bit more. Will definitely be coming back!

Menu was nicely varied with healthful vegetarian dishes alongside your meats and fish. The food came quickly and was very tasty - nicely spiced and flavored. The fish special had a delicious ginger/squash sauce. The vegan kimchi cauliflower dish was very tasty but could have used more kimchi. The wine list was also varied and affordable.

The food and the venue were superb! However, despite having made reservations, it took 20 minutes for someone to introduce themselves as our waitress sand take our order and offer water. Another 30 minutes to bring out the food. This caused us to be 20 minutes late to an expensive theatrical performance. I regret tipping 20%.

The staff was very nice and the ambiance was clean and modern. Lucy, our waitress, was attentive and kind. We all loved the brussel sprout appetizer, especially the horseradish sauce. My trout was stellar and the rest of the party all enjoyed their respective meals. Will be back next time I visit SLC!

we came for new years and had the WORST SERVICE EVER. i’ve been here so many times and i’ve enjoyed it so much. so i decided to book for new years. the food was amazing as always but i’ve never had such terrible service. our waiter went to every table around us more than once before even coming back to ours. we waited 20-30 between EACH time they came to check on us. not to mention, i went to the bathroom and came back to my food taken away and i had literally just started eating. i also paid FULL PRICE for a drink that was only half served? it was supposed to come with a shot glass of champagne on the side and i paid over $15 for a drink that i didn’t even get the full serving. this used to be one of my favorite places in downtown but i don’t think i’ll be coming back. i spent over $80 on just MY meal and had the worst service i’ve probably ever had.

We’ve been a few times over the past year and a half and the food quality has gone down SIGNIFICANTLY. I would not bother going until they shake up their food quality and atmosphere.
