Relaxing dinner with friends at table window. Beautiful view, food was delicious, service friendly and efficient but not overbearing. Recommend for a special occasion with advance reservations to get the best table!

Ivar is a tiny, mediocre step above a trucker stop diner. Nothing wrong with those, but if you expect upscale dining experience, which one might given the prices, you will be disappointed. Clam chowder was more of a creamy potato soup, than clam chowder. I ordered the manilla clams, which were okay (not incredible), but the bread that accompanied the dish was stale, sad, tiny… cracker? Sad given that a proper slice of sourdough could’ve elevated this dish from 2 to 3 stars. Maybe even 4! The rest of the dishes were also mediocre at best, if not downright sad. Oh, you may wonder why didn’t I ask for bread, let me tell you - I did. And, I was served 3-day old bread rolls that were likely purchased at Costco. So, skip Ivar’s. Let it stay a legend in your mind.

Host was super kind to our child, who we were celebrating an achievement with there. He even brought her a piece of chocolate cake after our meal. Crab Dip is fantastic. View is incredible, a little pricey, but it's worth the entire experience for sure. If you are a tourist in Seattle a fun trip is to take the ferry to Bainbridge at Sunset then ride it back so you see the city at dusk then you can walk by here for dinner and know you're getting top-quality Northwest Seafood.

Food and service was good. Just wished they would’ve taken into consideration my note in the reservation that we were there celebrating a birthday. I got the three course meal special, which included 3 different wines. Great deal.
