   We stopped in on our way out of town, not very nicely dressed, on a Friday night. The server was so gracious and kind, the atmosphere was casual special occasion, the food was amazing, and the portions were so large we would have over-ordered, had the server not advised us to skip one appetizer. This place was such a pleasant surprise; anyone who likes Caribbean food must go.

   Do yourself a favor and DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take a trip to Ivan's Cookhouse! My husband and I went today at about 1:30 this afternoon on our day date and I had the worst restaurant experience to date. After we arrived and were seated it took 45 minutes to an hour for us to receive our food in a half empty restaurant. Waited patiently and did not cause a commotion (even though that was very upsetting to me) because my husband was trying to be patient. After our order was taken some friends of his arrived and he served them first in addition to patrons that arrived after us. When Our food finally did arrive it was completely wrong and missing side dishes. My husband told them that it was "ok" and that we would keep what we have (which made me angry a bit).Then when I finally tasted my food, JERK CHICKEN PASTA, it was horrible tasted sweet and like it had hints of cinnamon in it. I literally took one bite of the dish and dropped the fork. I cannot express how weird the food tasted. I remained calm still and informed our waiter that I did not like the food and that because they took so long with the first order that I was not interested in ordering anything else. The waiter was rude and tried to talk me into keeping the food as it seemed as though he was afraid to tell the chef/owner of the ordeal. He walked back and forth and then in the end their response was, that they could not change the order or take it off of the bill because it was "what I ordered". I was FUMING mad and so I left leaving the full plate of that dish on the table. I got some food from TGI Fridays next door while my non-confrontational husband paid for the bill anyway (which added to my anger). The service was HORRIBLE, the food was sub par and customer service does not exist there. TERRIBLE!!!! DO NOT EAT AT Ivan's Cookhouse!!!
