Ivanhoe Restaurant & Bar
I love the food here. Everyone is always pleasant and attentive. Been coming here for a long time.
Service is still terrible. The bartender Tony wasn’t helpful and never followed up. And the food was horrible. The filet mignon was disgusting. I couldn’t eat it this time. Not going back ever. The only thing that was good is the Santa Fe egg roll and the mango up drink.
The food is much better since new mgmt took over and renamed the place. Service can be spotty. Very nice outdoor patio and dog friendly
We have been regulars for YEARS. Since the Change in management we have stayed loyal but it is getting tougher and tougher.
The food has changed, regular staff that knew us is gone, and the transition in menu is stark.
I will give it one more shot but.... not optimistic.
Great food just a some what slow bringing it to you. Don’t be in a time crunch that’s all I m saying
This spot is great for a birthday celebration. Came with my family here and had a great time. Food is not only presented enthusiastically but is as delicious as it looks. Service was great.
Was not served for 30 minutes after being seated. I had to go up and tell the host to bring us a waiter. Got our drinks after our food.
Outstanding service. Very welcoming staff. Beautiful patio. Because it was a cool evening we sat inside and staff started up the fireplace for us. Very cosy! Large parking lot.
Food was delicious from the hummus and calamari appetizers which were very cheap during happy hour, to the amazing short rib pot pie. The Mangos Up and Pink Paloma drinks were also wonderful. We will definitely go back.
We had a terrific Father's Day Brunch, sitting outside in a booth -- a lovely occasion all around.
Ivanhoe's great, been there plenty of times. Unfortunately was there on a night where there was a large party with tons of obnoxious unruly children. But servers were A+, we felt very badly for them. They apologized for mayhem several times.
Everything seemed well to start. We chose to sit inside because it was a little chilly. Inside is kind of depressing though. And the windowsill and blinds were really dusty...
Once order was placed we got things fairly quickly but it took another 10-15 for my salad to come out last after everything else. And it was called heirloom tomato and watermelon, the tomatoes were not heirloom. Nachos were nachos that anyone would/could make at home.
This was the 5th or 6 time I’ve here. I can’t go back anymore due to the same horrible customer service.
Probably the worst service I’ve had at a restaurant to date.
Incomplete orders, severe food delays, absentee/poor servers, an uninterested manager… it was a comedy of errors.
My favorite part was when our waitress tried to convince me that there were golden beets in my beet and avocado salad when there were NONE. After telling me the beets were very finely chopped (which no one at our table bought), she returned from the kitchen with red beets, not golden beets. 🤷This one salad was already delayed 20 minutes after 4 other guests received their meals.
PS this is just scratching the surface of the issues we experienced. Ivanhoe has horrible service and overpriced/average food. We will not be returning. But at least I got my OpenTable points...
Ivanhoe is always reliable with good food, great service, and a nice atmosphere. It is our go-to place.
Such a gem!
We enjoyed going to eat here, food and service always excellent!
The manager and staff at Ivanhoe made our anniversary extra special. We loved the cozy ambience and the quiet low-key music. The drinks and food were delicious! Thank you!
My 3rd time coming to Ivanhoe and I gotta say, it’s one of my favorite places for HH and brunch now. Everyone who I’d taken here to were all very impressed with the ambiance and food! The HH is amazing here... SO delicious. We tried the shrimp cocktail, cheeseburger sliders, loaded fries, tacos and white wine Sangria. The manager and servers were very attentive and super friendly. We never felt rushed. Can’t wait to try other items on their menu. Parking was a breeze.
Went for Mother's Day. Food was great and good selection on menu.
Prompt and attentive when my party arrived early for reservation. Thank you.
I really enjoy eating at Ivanhoe. I really like the ambiance and the food is always great! We enjoyed a casual and fun Mother's Day Brunch and everyone in our party loved their food.
Great food and fabulous patio!
Staff are friendly and helpful. Waiter was new on the job but made up for inexperience with good will. Atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. Recommend turkey reuben and tuna salad sandwiches.
Excellent food, service, and staff. Truly made our experience a memorable one
Excellent service and food was excellent.
I gave it a 4 star rating because the portion of food given was small compared to other restaurants.
Food is great - been there 4 times but wait staff needs to improve tremendously. Always waiting and no one follows up or check in.
For an early Saturday morning breakfast, Alexandra was very warm and welcoming dealing with us, our 2 year old, and dog. We walked into the restaurant with our table set and high chair ready.
Been here 4 times, food is good. My only compliant is the service. No one is around to follow up and I have to call someone else to get my check. I hope they do something to improve this.
Same as Home but still
It was all great. The window was rattling the whole time from the vibrations of either traffic or the air conditioning, so that was a little annoying. But the food and drink were lovely. And our server was FAB
Nothing terribly wrong, but nothing especially worth making it a destination. On a Thursday night, it didn’t seem like anyone was in charge — the well-intentioned staff were individually doing their thing running the place. Has the feeling of an absentee owner/investor who is not a restaurateur.
Excellent food, great ambiance. Went here for Valentine’s Day, and it was a great date spot.
Living in LA for 3 years. Worst meal I've had. Came in a group of 5, all got different things. No one liked their food. Hamburger bun so dry it crumbled and fell apart. Literally. Vegan burger patty weird tasting. Gluten free items not clearly marked. Pomodoro like deli meat. Friend asked for no tomato. Got tomato. Friend asked for ranch. Got ketchup. tuna salad so sauced up you couldn't taste the actual tuna. Tough dry sliced bread.
Also they force you to park in the lot. Told me I can't turn around and had to valet park. Don't currently have a help account but I might make one just to post my experience
Cute place for brunch but food takes FOREVER to come and they're not even busy!
Ivanhoe is a very pleasant experience: handsome, old structure with a very cool bar area, large dining room and comfortable seating in an enclosed patio as well. The menu is mainly American and pretty varied. The cuisine may not be all that adventurous or gastronomically amazing, but it is well prepared and reliable. Service is great.
I really like the ambience of this place.
Breakfast fried rice was fantastic!
Really great dining experience. Food was fantastic. Got the BBQ baby back ribs and chicken piccata. Both were amazing. Will be back for brunch!
abit dissapinted at the menu missing items... but it was more than made up by the service and alternate choices...
PHEW: When your neighborhood gem changes name/owners you worry, but the former "Home Silverlake" which is now "Ivanhoe" was smart enough to keep the staff we know and love and the same menu made BETTER by the reintroduction of Nachos, Calamari, Tony's Drink and chicken wings to their Happy Hour Menu. Great food, chill crowd, kid-friendly/Dodger Fan friendly/Hipster and Entertainment crown friendly, you can't go wrong.
