Good food and atmosphere. Decent prices. Would recommend!
Had great service and food was really good, this was my 3rd time going there and enjoyed my meal each time
Great atmosphere! Burgers are great and service was great. I ordered onion rings as an appetizer and it was real small. It was the same thing with the fries. I will go back for the burgers. We also went up to the Speakeasy. I thought i understood the concept until I went up there. It was entertaining but I have questions.
The food was outstanding-large portions and excellent quality. But we would return just for the milkshake desserts! Our waitress Leah, was efficient and quick to refill glasses and take our order
Service was talerrible! Waiter was terrible, didn’t answer any questions I had without an attitude. Was SUPER EXPENSIVE FOR NOT VERY GOOD FOOD! my tots were cold, and we waited forever for our food! Over all terrible experience for coming to town to try this place.
We purchased 2 milkshakes that were 1/3rd liquid as not mixed well. The patty melt had no flavor and the bread was saturated. $70 for 2 unseasoned burgers and 2 shakes was excessive. Had they tasted great or special the dollars wouldn’t have felt so bad. Severe was wonderful and friendly.
The food was delicious. The music not so much. We ate in the dining room and really wished there was not live music it was way too loud to have a conversation and the person singing really was not good. Our server was really nice but service as usual everywhere right now was slow.
This was our first time dining here. We enjoyed our meal and the service was good. The shake was definitely over the top we shared for dessert. A more simple dessert menu in addition to the over the top shakes, would make sense for diners to choose to eat here on any given night and not only for special occasions that warrant a $15 dessert.
The gnats were awful. We changed tables and improved a little. Towers of prepped sugar coated shake glasses were by door , covered, but unzipped and definitely a possible lure for them. We don’t like eating swatting bugs and having to place a napkin over wine glasses. We will not return..
Nick and Leaha 2 of the Best people we met Nick is the bomb shake maker and Leaha was an Excellent server
Great food, Darylon was very friendly and attentive to us. Food came out hot and shakes were over the top good!!
Originally had a reservation for 4, called and was able to change to 7 at last minute. Great service from Jason... I don't think our glasses were ever empty!! Awesome burger and shake as usual!!
The Gotham Burger was delicious! And the fries with the Sauce 42 was the best ever!
First time here and always heard about this place. Arrived when they opened and was seated. The tables are small so not enough space if you want to order a lot of food. The drinks are good and we both had the chicken and waffles and the tenders were super crispy and juicy. The hot honey was perfect. I wanted a milk shake but after 30 min the person making them was overwhelmed with the amount she had to make. They brought me the wrong on and then the shakeologist was behind the bar. So we just left without getting the one thing we were told to try. The server was understanding and he got a good tip. Would possibly go back only Neenah I want to try their famous milkshakes
Waiter was attentive and personable. Cheeseburger was amazing! I recommend sharing a shake if you get one. It’s big!
I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it was quite a disappointment. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth the prices. Our server was very inattentive. Overall, was hoping for a better experience.
Too loud for our tastes however it would be a great place to take kids.
Food was okay, milkshakes totally overpriced for what we were served. Waitress wasn't very knowledgeable of the menu. She told us we could have Mac and cheese for side dish gor the kids only to get charged at the end.
Burgers were amazing. Loved the fries too. The skyscraper shakes were a disappointment though, and the main reason we tried fourty deuce. Overall, worth the try and will definitely be back for the donut burger again.
Brought family who was visiting from out of state here after hearing rave reviews about the milkshakes. We made a reservation for Sunday at 7:30pm, the vibe was off and every server looked like they were losing their will to live. It took about 30mins for our food to be delivered, our meals were mediocre and the beer was truly warm. When it came time to order the much anticipated shakes (around 8:30pm) we were told that we wouldn’t be able to get them as the shake bar was closed bc the restaurant closes at 8pm - why take a 7:30 reservation only to close 30mins later?? Needless to say, the entire experience was a super let down.
They were out of half the desserts and whipped cream. Kind of the whole point of going.
Poor service from the start. Drinks took over 15 minutes from the bar, the wrong food was brought to the table and it was all downhill from there.
Very attentive staff. Decore was cool. Food came quickly and they timed my milkshake perfectly. Milkshakes are something to see here.
Great hamburger salad, and server was great. Outside was very pleasant to have dinner except the seats could have been more comfortable.
Waitress was amazing, food portions smaller than advertised. The cocktail was more juice than alcohol.
Waitress mistakenly charged my credit card for someone’s bill, I have to call her attention after coming back with my card and receipt.
She had to cancel it and start again. In the meantime my card was charged twice.
On our night the room was very smokey making a hazy atmosphere. The food was good and the sundae/milkshakes are unique. Had live music which was tolerable.
Worst experience I’ve ever had. They couldn’t find my reservation. My server had me sitting there for 20 min with nothing to drink. By the time I got my drink I was finished with the first margarita before my friends even got there’s. We had to ask for things over and over. Finally walked up to somebody asked for a manager. Nobody ever tried to help our server , offer discount our checks , get us more drinks or anything. They also never told us that it was a automatic gratuity on EVERY ITEM WE ORDER to AFTER she swiped my card and brought me back a different check with a higher total. Server started crying and no manager even tried to help her. Tried to call back the next day and talk to manager she said she would email me because she didn’t know what I wanted her to do.
Hi there, our floor manager did attempt to resolve the issues, however, since the entire table was yelling at the server, which lead to her crying, we didn't want to escalate things further. I (the General Manager) then assisted the server with getting you checked out as it was a large party, with multiple items split, and one of your guests had walked out on there tab. You had mentioned you were in the service industry and threatened to leave a bad review unless fully reimbursed.
Delicious food, friendly service and cool ambiance.
We had a Skyscraper shake. It was amazing. Server was incredible too!
Had a great time, the food and service was amazing at Forty Deuce Cafe.
Visiting from out of town. Had dinner here. Milkshakes looked amazing. Piano player was playing and it was loud.
We made a reservation and we're sat promptly. Our server was very friendly. We got a shake for the table and the look on my kids' faces when it came to the table was priceless. The downside is the shake was warm. We had the chicken and waffles and caesar salad. The salad was whole leaves of roman lettuce. The downside was, they only gave us forks. We didn't see our server again for over 10min so I ended up tearing the lettuce by hand. The salad is wildly overpriced for 5 leaves of lettuce that you have to figure out how to cut yourself. Another person got the chicken and waffles. It was very good however, hard to eat without a knife. The kids got cheeseburgers. One had it with fries and the other with tots. Both came out with fries which our server noticed and said they would be out tots. After we finally saw our server again after 10 min, we had to ask about the tots. All in all, we may go back again just to see the kids look on their face when the milkshake comes to the table.
Our waitress was great! Loved the piano player. Food was good. Will go back!
Amazing burgers and the most instagramable and delicious shakes anywhere. Kids love going here and I love it too.
The waitress was the best!
The chicken club was amazing. A very engaged waitress
Poor service, closing restaurant when I was still dining
It was ok. Nothing bad but nothing spectacular either. Bar was disappointing because it was not well stocked. Food was good. Service was just ok. Don’t feel like I would need to be back.
Sat promptly. Food was delicious
The overall experience was awesome and I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends!
