About
Restaurant week- honestly all the dishes were excellent. The rosemary ice cream paired with the warm polenta cake (texture like cornbread), amazing. The duck sausage with lentil smash - so well seasoned. The cabbage salad with grapefruit- who knew that cabbage could be so good when charred and well dressed.
Cocktails were also great.
Very disappointed in ITV. Our first impression at their bar was not a pleasant one. I believe their two bartenders were in a “tiff” of some sort and not communicating with each other...or us...and ignoring their other customers. We felt very uncomfortable there with no interaction with either bartender. After about twenty minutes, we were ready for our meal in ITV’s back dining area, which is dark and unappealing (with a full view of their bathroom door which was left open by several patrons and had to be closed by passing servers). I selected their East Passyunk Restaurant Week menu and my first entree, a cabbage salad, was soaked to saturation in its dressing which overpowered everything. My partner’s meal was not memorable, just okay. Our meal server was pleasant and knowledgeable, the only highlight of a very disappointing meal at ITV. We have upcoming dinner reservations at Nick Elmi’s next door eatery, Laurel, (a sister restaurant to ITV) which I hope and pray will be a better experience. Probably will not return to ITV anytime soon.
Absolutely amazing. The food is incomparable. Nicholas Elmo creatively combines flavors and textures like no one else. You must get the beef fat biscuits and the smoked trout rillettes. And don’t forget a cocktail.
Good for people who live close that would want to get a quick cocktail or so but for out of towners, menu is too limited to drive all the way for just a few small plates tp choose from.
The food this night was not at all to the usual standards. The beef ragout was barely edible, as the cavatelli was hard, the beef was gristle. The mackeral was over cooked and dry and a plate of each shared with three people was not eaten. The cocktails we're good but selection not the usual selection.
Wonderful bar and good and service. Would return and recommend.
We enjoyed every morsel of food. I appreciated the selection of mocktails. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and drink selection. We’ll be back.
Cheese plate is always amazing!
Food was excellent across the board. (We had duck kielbasa, duck fat biscuits, pork puffs, and potato and ricotta fritters.) Cocktails were interesting twists on standards and very tasty. Service was friendly and helpful, though the bar was a bit slow getting drinks to the server.
My gf is hot AF
ITV was everything we were promised: an intimate, hidey-hole space with lots of character and a small plate menu that showcases the playfulness and creativity of one of Philly's premiere chefs. Bonus points for the charity cocktail menu they were offering to support PAWS.
We had to make a last minute pivot to this restaurant after the one we'd had reservations at for a while cancelled the day prior due to emergency PECO work. The sister of someone else in the party recommended it and they had availability (making reservations Monday night for Tuesday night) so we decided to give it a go and were blown away. We ordered probably at least 80% of the menu to share and every single dish was phenomenal - fresh, creative, complex, and delicious. The table's favorite was actually the biscuit (an incredible deal at $4). We enjoyed the wine, cocktail, and (exciting surprise!) non-alcoholic cocktail selection. I was also unexpectedly delighted with their varieties of glassware. It's a charming little spot with friendly and competent staff, and the parking was reasonable and easy to find on a weekday evening. We enjoy trying new spots but may well have to come back for repeat visits.
Love that place.
The food and drinks are amazing and it is on the expensive side so a great place for a special occasion. Small seating area so really would not want to be a party bigger than 6. Great, lively atmosphere and unique cocktails.
Excellent, fine-dining food and some pretty great cocktails. A top 5 Philadelphia meal for me, for sure. This place is a perfect date location due to the whimsy of the plates, the dark and moody atmosphere, and deliciousness of food––just make sure you have a reservation and are seated in the back as the bar area fills up really quickly and gets quite noisy after 7:30.
Good seating and service. Quirky menu. Enjoyed pork skin puffs - could hear a little snap crackle pop. Beef fat biscuit a hit. For me, maitake mushrooms a winner. Venison meatballs a bit dense. Drinks likewise quirky but with option to change spirit as for example I can’t drink gin so switched to mezcal in their popular drink and spirits could be added to their nonalcoholic specialty drinks. Overall a very nice experience. Bill added up quickly.
Weird to have a ‘watch party’ for Top Chef on Valentine’s Day. When you need a credit card to make a reservation, you should be able to go to the restaurant and enjoy the night without a TV show and commercials blaring over the speakers throughout the entire place. Also was out of many key food items from a tiny menu. Too expensive and high end of a place for these issues.
Amazing! It’s perfect for anything — friends night out, first date, engagement! Will be back soon
We sat at the bar, bartender wasn't very attentive. We were enjoying the wine but had to ask for a refill each time. The presentation of the menu was very unexciting. Although the wine and small plates were good, the service wasn't pleasant and colored the experience.
Great cocktails, delicious (mostly) small plates, snacks. Made dinner for two out it.
We went when then transformed the place to the holiday bar called Miracle. The special small plates were delicious and the cocktails were festive. Not cheap but it’s all worth it. Split 4 small plates and two cocktails each, throw a cheese plate in there, and you’re looking at around 100 bucks. I’d do it all over again though - the whole space transforms and it really gets you in the holiday spirit.
We had a lovely meal and the waitress was so sweet and helpful. She suggested two options for cocktails for me, I tried both and loved them! We ordered the scallops, which I was saying I always want to order from restaurants but am often disappointed... This time I was happy to note that they were delicious! We also had pate, which was okay by itself and really nice with the jam! The cheese board with bread and apple and fruit butter was delicious as well.
Thanks for letting us sit and chat after we finished eating!
I wish Nick Elmi's restaurants were more vegetarian friendly; otherwise I loved it!
Excellent wine selection. The small plates give new meaning to the concept of “bar food.” Best short ribs I’ve ever had.
This is not our first time but definitely our best experience! Our server did a great job from start to finish, from helping my wife select a cocktail through coffee and dessert. Not being particularly big eaters, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing the duck fat biscuit, smoked trout, grilled asparagus and gnocchi. And, the Australian Pinot Noir was delightful! Also really enjoyed the blueberry upside down cake. So enjoyed our visit!
The food is amazing! Cozy environment. Great cocktails. Would take a friend here, a date here, celebrate a birthday with a small group.
Excellent meal......King George begat Prince Nicholas...
Superb elegantly creative food from Chef Nicholas Elmi.
Presentation artistically beautifull.
Excellent Professional service.
Cannot wait to go back for another meal.
One of the BEST in Philadelphia.
Everything was amazing except for the rabbit schnitzel —too much and not great.
The place was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing. The seating area is very cramped - thankfully we got there early and no one was seated next to us. By the time we left, the table next to us was occupied and it was hard to get out of our seats. Otherwise, amazing experience. The service was excellent, staff was very knowledgeable.
The wait staff did a great job accommodating our eclectic needs.
Loved everything!
Have been here many times, never disappointed . The food is better then fantastic.
The (Valentine's Day) menu consisted of 5 courses that each were original and had a great blend of tastes. With it were the five cocktails that went together well, also had interesting blends and on top of it were each in double choice, so more variation and sampling. Volume of food and quantity of alcohol were great, but again: good in balance
Nick Elmi knocks it out of the park with this concept. The food is as good as ever, with a completely different space/feel.
I was a bit disappointed in ITV. If I didn't know Nick Elmi was involved I probably would have rated it lower. The best thing we had was the squash and we ordered almost everything on the menu. The fish and meat were both overcooked and the gnocchi was extremely salty. It is a wine bar and the wines are good but the cheapest I believe was $14 a glass and they are a pretty skimpy pour. The cocktail list was extensive and interesting so I wish in hindsight I had tried some cocktails. The dessert was supposed to be a warm chocolate cake and the plate came out much warmer than the cake. I want to like this place because I know Chef Nick is amazing but I was unfortunately underwhelmed. We spent as much money as we would have at Laurel, which is much better (if you can get in).
This place was awesome. They have a small menu, but everything we ordered was a home run.
The beef fat biscuit was a must. Nice and crisp on the outside, and with a hint of the savory beef flavor without it being overwhelming.
We also got the smoked trout rilette, which was both tasty and beautifully presented. great balance between sweet, savory, and citrus.
Fried Cauliflower - the best I'd ever had. They achieved a perfect amount of crunch on the outside, and the yogurt sauce it came with provided a great balance.
Pork Cheeks - also great. nice and crisp on the outside. Not a huge portion, but it's perfectly sized given how rich it is.
Foie Gras - perfectly executed.
Cocktails were also unique and delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Good bar scene at ITV. Dining space is tight. The pork cheek and walu dazzled, as did the squash and trout rillette. The wine list is impressive, and music is very good, mainly 70’s and 80’s which is interesting because the crowd was mostly millenials. More of a place to grab a bite and eat than to dine, but the combination of the food and wine make it a worthy place for informal dining.
Only a handful of tables, very close to each other. Most people are at the bar.
We showed up for happy hour and ordered two 5 dollar snacks and both got these delicious Christmas cocktails. I could barely wait for the snacks to down mine. Then we shared 4 small plates between us which is a great amount of food for two people. The whole time the dimly lit and cozy, yet elegant, ambiance was providing a comfortable noise level to sit, eat and talk. I will say our favorite was the pork cheek. Amazing. Fast and friendly service was available as well. It’s expensive, but since we brought a gift card from open table it wasn’t bad at all. Even without, I still would consider it easily worth it. Great experience!
Delicious!!!
