Itta Bena
I made a reservation for my birthday and service was top notch! My party received free champagne glasses to toast for my bday and I also received a complimentary dessert! The waiter was very friendly and attentive. He even offered to take our picture outside on beale street! Would def recommend this place!
Our server was fantastic! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our time there thoroughly and it was truly an experience. I would recommend for anyone looking for a good date spot in Memphis. I love that it doesn't feel like you're on Beale but you can still walk downstairs and have fun on Beale!
This place I chose for our anniversary and so glad we did. The whole experience was amazing from the secret entrance feel to the blue light windows and soft yellow glow of the room. Overall, my favorite dining experience yet.
Excellent food (quality and variety) and service in an intimate yet fun setting. Issue with being exceptionally close to the table next to us and having to listen to two old ladies who obviously have hearing issues discussing bridge strategy all night long.... That’s not the restaurants fault although they did let them overstay their booking whilst bringing our check without being asked after only 80 minutes. Small gripes though so you should visit if in Memphis!!!
Loved our server. Chicken was bland for our tastes. But enjoyed everything else.
Itta Beana NEVER disappoints. Just wonderful! Great server 🍒 Gail Kreunen 901/848-3494
The staff was great!!! The atmosphere was perfect. The drinks & food were delicious. I can’t wait to go back.
Neat upper room get away for dinner before the concert. Crowded and busy. Food expensive and pretty good but a bit overpriced. Enjoyed our meal though.
A great dinner spot before the show at the Orpheum. Live piano-sax & vocals are an extra treat.
Husband loved the short ribs. The halibut was a little dry but the maple bacon brussels sprouts were perfect. We split a yummy fresh peach cobbler. Stefan’s service was on point!
Everything was delicious, I wanted to try a new appetizer pimento cheese and onion dip but they didn’t have it that night. Just means a return trip!!
It was hard to find since it’s above a much louder restaurant/bar. The food was tasty and service was good.
Our server was wonderful! Attentive but not too intrusive, very funny and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
The ambiance is unlike anywhere in town. It feels like you truly are secretly tucked away in one of the most prime real estate locations in downtown Memphis. The mood is set by perfect live background music and the restaurant space is gorgeously rustic.
The menu is perfectly Southern but not too over the top and beautified by the presentation. It is not overwhelming yet offers something for everyone.
We LOVE Itta Bena and highly recommend!
I have a recommendation regarding the Caesar salad. Needs work. Really fresh crisp romaine and not too much dressing. The salad should tease for a bit more. If patrons want more dressing should be on the side. Much more sophisticated to be with discretion!
Love the place but 2 mediocre Caesar salads! Kick it up!
Great atmosphere! Meal was delicious. Service was excellent.
Loved this restaurant while visiting Memphis. The atmosphere, soft piano music and wait staff were wonderful. I had Salmon that was too salty and they redid my entree and deconstructed the whole dish to make it without salt and to my satisfaction. The Manager was so nice and helpful in making it right. We were very happy with their wonderful attitude and work to make it tasty and our evening a special experience. Location is perfect to enjoy a great dinner and then see the fun on Beale Street. We highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back if we are ever in Memphis.
Food was delicious. Environment was very relaxing and quiet. Excellent time
Awesome experience. This place lived up to all the wonderful reviews. I real gem in the middle of the rowdiness going on as this place in above BB King on Baele Street. The food excellent the service superb the atmosphere very pleasant. Over all had a wonderful experience dinning here. Highly recommended. Mark our waiter was terrific
Loved the location 1 had fried avocados; 2 had scallops 1 had blackened red snapper. Great job by waiter Jonathan.
Madi was phenomenal. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. We can’t wait to come back
Excellent food and excellent server- best kept secret in Memphis!!!!
Excellent shrimp and grits and cocktails!
Extremely overpriced for the food. Literally the bread that they bring out is Sister Schuberts rolls that you can buy at WalMart. While I love those rolls, I would expect homemade rolls for an expensive dine out experience. Literally the caliber of everything is second rate with the exception of the speakeasy atmosphere. Had the price per head been $30-35, I’d have rated this higher. I could just go to Catherine and Mary’s within walking distance for an incredibly different taste, experience, and same general price.
Delightful dinner. The service was prompt and professional. We had an appetizer, soup, entrees, wine and dessert. Each was delicious and nicely served. We had not been here recently and we were very impressed. Will return soon. The fried avocado with crabmeat and pico de gallo was amazing! The wine by the glass list is a bit small, but the bottle choices are extensive.
Food was fantastic and the the service was super friendly and very professional! It’s the perfect place for date night!
Loved this place! Our server was truly special. She was pleasant, witty and attentive. The food was amazing from the she crab soup to the entrees (filet mignon and snapper). Dessert (brownie) was excellent. Oh, and the “hidden” entrance. That was cool. Can’t wait to return.
We had dinner before the Orpheum show. Easy walk to restaurant and to Orpheum. Lots of stairs to restaurant. Strange entrance from Beale Street. No sign for restaurant either. First time eating there. A very good dining experience. Liked the piano music.
Jocelyn, our waitress, was amazing and very attentive! The food was delicious! We will be back!
Food was mediocre and the place was definitely overpriced. I imagine folks go there because it’s on the top floor of BB King’s but it’s fairly unattractive as a dining space. Positive note: our waitress was perfectly pleasant and attentive.
The quality of the food was not there. There are many restaurants in Memphis that are better. Stay off of Beale Street
One of the best restaurants I have been to and I am from New York City
It has been several years since we had eaten at Itta Bena and I had forgotten what a great atmosphere it has. It is very relaxing and the food and service were excellent.
Food excellent as always. Our preferred choice when attending events at Orpheum.
Seated on time. Good atmosphere. Food Spicey. But accommated my taste great service. Overall a wonderful experience
Excellent ambiance. Excellent food. Excellent history with the name of restaurant and location
Always consistently good. Service is impeccable. Live music is enjoyable. Food is outstanding. We are never disappointed.
I’ve dined at Itta Bena several times and it never disappoints!
