Everything was great! Food portions are so small but also delicious!
Our waiter was absolutely amazing! He was attentive and surprised our bride to be with a round of desserts. The piano and guitar we lovely, and just the right volume!! We had a table of 10 people and ever single person loved it!!!
loved everything about our dining experience last night. Our server Brandon did a great job. The food we ate : copped BLT salad, salmon, short ribs were all delicious. Even the brownie dessert was outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant
Dinner was absolutely amazing!! Our waitress was amazing and just the staff in general. We will definitely be back soon!
I loved Itta Bena. It’s perhaps my favorite restaurant in Memphis. The food was terrific and the staff accommodating and on point. I’ll certainly be back!
Great food, Great experience, Waiter was great!!!!
The drinks were very strong with some of the flavors. The smoked cocktail was incredibly smokey tasting. It was too dark at the table. Older people have a tough time seeing the menus.
My first impression of Itta Bena was the sticky handrail !!! Please have someone powerwash or sandblast it. Coming and going it was gross. Once I got to the top and scrubbed my hands, everything else was AMAZING!! Our new favorite place. Can’t wait to go back- with gloves!!!!
Etta Bina NEVER disappoints! Our favorite restaurant in Memphis!
What a great find!! Excellent food, drinks and service! Interesting shrimp n grits…they were so yummy. My husband really enjoyed his salmon. Would not get the shecrab soup again. The BLT salad was wonderful. The brownie with ice cream was amazing. Loved my old-fashion. Jon was very attentive and helpful. It is above BB Kings Club.
We so enjoyed having Brandon as our server, and per usual, the food & drinks were fabulous. All staff are friendly, gracious & hospitable. Itta Bena has been a favorite of mine for years, & it's always fun to introduce out of town guests or new to town folks to it.
Excellent restaurant above the average Beale Street food choices. The She Crab Soup was outstanding. Excellent shrimp and grits. Perfect choice for any occasion
It was mysterious.
What an amazing find. You would never know it was thr. Its above BB kings bar. Food and staff were amazing.
Perfect spot for dinner - above BB King's. Entrance stairs were a little challenging, but the food was great and the live music was wonderful! Service was excellent!
Food was amazing and fresh Wine. Great waiter and atmosphere .
Awesome food and service. The restaurant was so pretty and the live music was so great. McKenna was an awesome server. We highly recommend the She crab soup, wedge salad, short run and shrimp/sausage pasta.
Itta Bena is outstanding. The customer experience was on-point and the servers were very attentive to the needs of our business dinner party.
The pan-seared sea bass with creamy spinach and red pepper Florentine was the right combination of delicate and flavorful. I can never pass over the parmesan risotto when I visit, so I had it as a side and it is consistently cooked to perfection. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the chef will one day up the ante and add truffle to the risotto.
As native Memphian, Itta Bena will stay a favorite place for business meetings and after work socials when hosting visitors that want to experience Beale Street. My guests are always surprised when they've climbed the staircase leading to a rather inconspicuous door and, upon entering the restaurant, are greeted by an ambiance and dining experience that is worthy of 5-stars.
Upon arriving, we were seated quickly. Only there was only chair at our table for two. The hostess had to go look for another one. We waited quite a while for someone to come over and take our drink order. We went ahead and ordered our drinks and dinner together because of that wait for the drink order. Shrimp and grits, a glass of Prosecco, short ribs, a beer, and a Diet Coke. After about 5 minutes or so, our food came out. The person delivering it was not our server and I told her we still had not even gotten our drinks. She apologized and took it back. Then our server brings the food over after another five minutes or so. Still no drinks! He apologized and i asked him to please bring our drinks and take the food back so we could enjoy our drinks for a bit. We wait another 5 minutes or so and finally get our drinks. Then after about 10 minutes he brings our food. My husband ordered the short ribs and they brought him salmon. So We sat for another 15 minutes while they made the short ribs and my shrimp and grits got cold. He didn’t offer to take it back or have them re make it. So I had room temp shrimp and grits that had been baking under a heat lamp for 20-30 minutes prior to that. The food was fine but by this point I was so disenchanted. They never refilled our water, and the Diet Coke never arrived. We got the bill and I noticed they charged us for the salmon and the soda. I asked him to take it back and fix it, which he did. We came to Itta Bena after getting married on the River. This was a disappointing dinner after our small private wedding. We will not return. While the food and atmosphere were good, the service was completely unacceptable.
Kelvin and the Manager was awful. They judged me as if I didn’t have the money to pay and treated me as such. I order sweet tea and he gave me a spoon in my tea with sugar. The manager was just as rude.
We visited Memphis over the Memorial day weekend to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. I googled recommendations for a nice restaurant and Itta Bena came highly recommend. My husband and I truly enjoyed the whole experience yesterday.. Great service and AMAZING food! Thank you for the complimentary champagne too! Our waiter was AWESOME! We hope to return soon. Kansas City, Missouri.
1st visit as I have never been to Memphis before
All food we tried was excellent
Great service from the hostess and our server!
This place was perfect....the best pork chops I have ever eaten!
Food was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Ambiance was great - musicians on this night were exceptional. Waiter was quite attentive. All aspects were superior - as usual! Love this place!
Such an amazing experience again! Our server, Josh or John...might be a memory issue here, but a long time team member; he was so attentive and humorous and professional...and the food was absolutely perfect. Every dish was just as we ordered, the champagne, the wine, the beers were all amazing! They never disappoint!
The Maitre D was friendly and professional and updated us on our table. Our waiter was professional and had a great personality. The food was delicious.
Hands down the best food and service I’ve had in the city of Memphis.
We heard lots of great reviews about this place so we decided to try it out. The service was great yet the food was nothing to get overly excited about. The short ribs were more of a good pot roast and shrimp and grits were were decent. It definitely more of an experience place to go.
The food is top-notch along with the staff. It’s the perfect laid back atmosphere for a wonderful dining experience. Never disappointed when we are there.
Stevin was the best waiter ever!!!
What a hidden gem! Try the crab cakes!
Craig and Kelvin were great. The sea bass was amazing. Looking forward to next visit.
The sea bass was one of my wife's favorite fish dishes she ever had. The BBQ shrimp was great and the sauce incredible.
My lamb was cooked perfectly. The risotto was a bit lumpy but still tasty.
Overall, one of the best places in Memphis.
The service was simply outstanding, very attentive but not snobbish. The live music and singer were an unexpected enhancement to the experience and setting. Overall, the food was very good. The only misstep, in my opinion, was the parmesan risotto that came with my lamb chops. The risottos was gummy and overcooked and lacked flavor. I have made risotto many times & this was a disappointment. Otherwise, a wonderful dinner for our first visit to Memphia.
Husband & I had our anniversary dinner here as it had good reviews and was walking distance to our hotel. We were a little reluctant about the possible noise level as it sits directly over BB King’s supper club but decided to try it out. Itta Bena surprised us as it was quiet and the ambiance was what an upscale restaurant should be: romantic and comfortable. The saxophonist and piano/soloist provided wonderful music to enjoy with drinks and dinner.
We had the scallops and grits appetizer which was delicious, wanted to lick the plate! My she-crab soup and my husbands BLT salad were also very good. My husband ordered the sea bass and he said it was delicious. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop, it was decent but nothing special. I liked the sides of sweet potato purée and roasted Brussels sprouts better, they were very tasty. We ordered the apple cobbler dessert, my husband cleaned the bowl! John was our server, he was personable, attentive and efficient. In fact all of the staff, from the manager to the waitstaff work very well together to be sure that the customers needs are met. The manager delivers food to tables and engages the customers in conversation, ensuring that customers feel special. We did! Thank you for a wonderful evening, if we return to Memphis we will be sure to eat at your lovely restaurant.
The service and food were spot on. Our waiter John was great. His recommendations for wine and food met our expectations. Susan Marshal and her saxophone accompanist made for a very relaxing dining experience. Can’t wait to come back..
Great service. Sent the perfect birthday ambience.
Our experience at Itta Bena was terrific in every way. The food was great, the service was personal and timely, and the atmosphere was just what we were hoping for, intimate yet personal with a Memphis vibe. Our waitress, Allie was knowledgeable and personable. Her recommendations were spot on. Thanks for a great experience.
