Hadn't been here in years since I left the area. Came back while visiting a friend. Fantastic food and great atmosphere!
We have been going to Italy's little kitchen for 30 years. We recently took a family member who had never been, and we were not disappointed. The food and service were as always excellent. We will continue to use Italy's little kitchen for all our family events.
Wonderful place with friendly service and yummy food.
The food was excellent as was the service. I love the friendly and relaxed ambiance. It has a neighborhood feel that just added to the dining experience.
The waitress was not as attentive as she probably will be as she gains more experience. But as usual the food and atmosphere were great!
One of our “go to” local favorites. We keep coming back!
Always enjoy. Nice neighborhood place
Cute little place. Good value for the money.
It was very cold and drafty! Cccccccccvccvcccccccccccvvvcvvccvvvccccccc
Food was good but not outstanding. I’m comparing this to many other Italian restaurants we have eaten at.
We find Italy’s Little Kitchen food to be fresh, tasty, well composed, and thoroughly delicious down home Italian cooking. For us, it’s a taste of home, east coast Italian food. There are servers who are more experienced than others in our opinion, and some were young, but they were trying to please, and they’ll get there. Everyone was pleasant and cordial, and we enjoyed our dinner experience, and the food was great!
Wish I could say this is a nice, little neighborhood place but it's just REALLY bad cooking and food. Sorry...
We have been going here for many years and the quality of the experience and the food has steadily declined. The minestrone soup tastes like watered down tomato broth with few ingredients, unlike the rich tasty vegetables of past years. Spaghetti and meatballs sauce also was like watered down tomato soup. The meatballs were like rubber. The prices have gone up and what you receive in exchange has been reduced to a bare minimum.
My daughters 17th Birthday! She loves Italy’s Little Kitchen! ❤️
Terrible service...extremely slow!!! Food had no flavor..."chimichurri sauce"was not..it was a terrible tasting pesto mixed with lemon..it ruined an already overcooked steak. Server offered White Zin when asked for a white wine...my guests all did not like the food.I used to eat there as a child years ago..so very different..will never go back.
Always a great experience. Terrific food and service. A gem hidden in plain sight.
The food was below restaurant quality and a such overpriced. I would not have been happy serving that. We just went as it was close to the airport and we were about to get a flight. Would definitely not go back.
Great food and service. Waitress and wait staff were very professional
This was my first meal at Little Italy and it was delicious. So many friends had recommended it earlier.
I met my son for a very long lunch. We had Scampi, pasta and fresh salads.
Can’t wait to return.
We dined on a Wednesday and the restaurant was COMPLETELY FULL, and only had ONE server and one cook/chef. For some unknown reason, management decided to not call in additional servers. Our poor server did the best she could, however, could not attend to most tables. Causing other tables to become highly upset, and unfortunately not tip her well or at all. This was in no way her fault as there was no way she could get to every table on her own.
The food was ok, however, the Capresse salad we ordered had no balsamic vinegar, our dinner, which took over an hour to get served was not as described: my fish was supposed to be served over a bed of spinach, but instead it was over broccoli, and my wife's salmon came with cold asparagus and cold potatoes. Our servers was amazing, considering the stress she was under, and offered us a free desert as as way to make up for the restaurants' shortcomings.
I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.
The warm bread that they served before taking our order was perhaps the best thing about this restaurant experience. I do not know if someone failed to show for a shift or quit in the middle of one, but the service was abysmal. In fact, a gentleman at another table of three people was so upset and dissatisfied with the service that he returned his food without even trying it.
To be fair, the food was pretty good, and everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant is divided into several small service areas or rooms, one of which is outside but enclosed. The decor is simply and rather plain (in fact the vacuum was parked/stored in the open next to our table).
I would only go back, if they guaranteed that they had corrected the service problems.
Love this place!! Excellent food and my waitress Jasmine was THE BEST!!!! They made an error with my food but corrected it expeditiously! I definitely will be back!!
Staff was friendly, courteous, and checked on us , filled our water glasses, food was promptly served
This is a great neighborhood find. If you have a student at Loyola Marymount, it's a great place to go with your student. The food is great and the restaurant has a really nice ambience. The wine selection wasn't great but fine for the restaurant. Service could've been nicer.
I've always liked anything I order here. Service was attentive. I love the lobster ravioli!
We’ve eaten here twice for dinner and once for lunch - always very enjoyable food and good service.
Nice neighborhood Italian restaurant. It was noisier than usual because of a big party nearby, otherwise fine. The tables are very close together because it IS a little place. Very tasty food and good service. Reservations recommended. Small parking lot in back.
Dinner with an old friend
I brought 7 people to dinner.
as we finished, I gave my credit card to the server and asked for the check, we were working and on the go. I was trying to expedite the process.
My expectation was to get the receipt showing everything we ordered and the associated paper to sign and leave.
Why would I want the receipt, honestly...only to see whether or not the gratuity was already included. I'm not looking at the detail of what people ordered.
So, no receipt. just the signature paper.
I asked the server...'did you include gratuity?'
Her response...'do you want the receipt?, to which I said, 'no, I just want to know if you included the gratuity since were a large party?'
Her nervous response...'I'll get you a receipt.'
A few moments go by, she returns with another restaurant bill folder, lays it on the table and says, 'yes, gratuity was already included'...and quickly walks away.
Number 1, include the receipt.
Number 2, if for some ludicrious reason you don't include the receipt, tell the customer that you've already included the tip.
Number 3, if you get yourself into this stupid situation...don't dig the hole deeper.
Number 4, apologize for the situation.
Pigs Get Fat. Hogs get Slaughtered...
I would have preferred focusing on the food in this review. That response would have been much different.
Our server, Oceana, was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and promt.
The food was very good, the service was excellent. We sat in the backroom. It was pretty loud back there, but we were a big group so it was okay because we were probably loud ourselves. I had the carbonara and it was very good.
Good food, little hectic and busy, but overall nice dinner.
I was a big fan of this restaurant. It has changed quite a bit. The menu was as not as extensive. My favorite meal lobster ravioli was the worst it has ever been. It will be a while before I return.
Everyone at my table was happy with their food, service was quick and the people were very friendly. I thought the food was too favor-full but that is me. I tend to be a bland person so you can't go by what I say when it comes to Italian food. If you ask me to recommend an Italian Resturant that is a good value I would say the Italian Little Kitchen.
Cheerful, speedy waitstaff. Good, plentiful food. Surprisingly inexpensive.
The food and service were fine up until I asked for the check. The waitress took a long time bringing it, stopping to take another table's drink orders and bringing them their drinks. Then after she finally brought the check, she disappeared. A good 5 minutes later, another waiter came by and unsolicited, but probably seeing that my credit card had been sitting out for 5 minutes, offered to take up my credit card. The waitress finally brought back the credit card slip, but seemed very peeved that I hadn't waited for her to return to pick up my credit card.
Great staple restaurant. THe staff here os fantastic.
we had a great little family dinner here recently. and the staff was very sweet and accommodating. i have some pain in the ass food allergies, and the kitchen staff was even kind enough to prepare my special gluten-free pasta for me, so that my sister, the birthday girl, could still enjoy an italian dinner (her birthday request). thanks again guys!
I committed a reservations faux pas. A first and last for moi- for it's definitely against my upbringing, standards and style :)
What? I made a reservation, couldn't keep it and failed to cancel. Please forgive me and ask Italy's Kitchen to please do the same :( I do however plan to visit them real soon. I love Italian food and am in search of a restaurant closer in to the city than Roma D'Italia where I recently dined in Tustin, and had a wonderful meal, before seeing Guys & Dolls at the Curtain Dinner Theatre.
PS, I search opentable often, book reservations and refer others.
Suggestion: as baby boomers age and so do our parents, Godparents- add a handicapped-accessible (wheelchair) option/icon to the search/locations! Th
My sister and I love this place. We love the lobster ravioli...best I've ever tasted anywhere. I get it about 2x a month. I either pick up or eat-in. They also always have coupons in the neighborhood coupon magazines so it's usually a deal. Their freshly baked bread is a great accompanienment too.
