Ristorante Italianissimo has been the bastion of Italian fare in Woodinville, WA since the mid 1990”s. In March of 2015, the baton was passed on to the family that has helped make Italianissimo the success that it has become. Still family owned and operated, the restaurant has made a seamless transition from one family to another. The Italian philosophy of using fresh, local ingredients, prepared simply from scratch, is still being embraced-the freshest fish, the finest meats, home made pastas and sauces. The passion of the Italian people’s love for fine food can still be found here.

Italianissimo Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
The food was good, but felt it what pricey. Service was not very good. Apparently there was something going on in another part of the restaurant that was distracting our waitress, so our service was very slow. At one point, when all the table around us had been served, I thought we had been forgotten. When I talked to the waitress, nothing changed and do not feel that she cared.
We got there and the waiter seemed a little off. Without greeting us he says “Do you want to hear the specials or you already know what you want?” In a not so friendly tone. Once we decided what to order I ordered the clams with pasta. Once the dish came, I felt the clams were pretty sandy. So much so that it was difficult to enjoy them. I am used to ordering that same dish at different restaurants, but this one particular, the clams just had that, where as other restaurants I’ve never had the clams be this way. Maybe they were just not the best quality or who knows. Between that and the waiter, the overall rating would go down significantly for me.
We had a 7:30 pm reservation for a party of six, and we were seated promptly. The waiter--whose name I can't recall--was courteous and knowledgeable. Service as good but not rushed. We were all in agreement that the wine prices were very fair. Food was great all around. I wouldn't regard Italianissimo as casual, but certainly not stuffy, either.
We love this restaurant and have been coming here for years. But, something was amiss last night. The cannelloni, which is usually very good, was dry and had a very unpleasant sour taste and was pretty much inedible. The calamari steak that I always order arrived soaked with oil and undercooked. The mashed potatoes were bland and cold. This really is an amazing restaurant with some of the best service staff around. I am not sure what happened last night, but I think I will take a break from this restaurant for a while.
Stopped in for an early dinner and the restaurant was very quiet and comfortable. I ordered the Fillet with Gorgonzola. It came with mashed potatoes and a medley of local vegetables.
When it arrived it was overcooked but the waitress saw that and took it back for another one, no questions asked. The second one was flawless and I was so happy as this was a terrific dinner.
Special thanks to her for making our evening so special and taking such good care of us.
If you're weary of hipster restaurants, this is the place to go. The fried calamari was really great! As were the pasta dishes. My husband enjoyed his bistecca dish but my rockfish piccante dish was too salty to eat. Nice wine list, well priced. Worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
I always enjoyed this restaurant but was very disappointed that we did not even receive a courtesy dessert since my party of 4 was celebrating both couples 47th wedding anniversary.
The waiter was informed of this by me personally at the start of the meal. It was a lack of class by the restaurant.
This was our second visit and, like the first, it was excellent. Husband had the Osso buco with risotto and I had the Tuesday Ravioli special veal stuffed ravioli with basil cream sauce...every bite a dream. All washed down with a great bottle of chianti. We split an excellent tiramisu for desert. Oh, and kudos to the bartender for my perfect manhattan cocktail before dinner. All in all, a lovely evening. Be back soon.
We were going to a concert at the winery and wanted to try someplace new beforehand. I liked the atmosphere, it was cozy and warm. They seated us right away. Our waitress checked in with us quickly and was pleasant and helpful. I ordered the pasta fagioli and we were served bread with oil. The bread was pretty tasteless and my boyfriend agreed. In fact I had a couple bites and left it. Even the oil and the balsamic I asked for couldn't help it. Then I got the soup and I wasn't very enamored of that either. I'm used to pasta fagioli being very full of beans and hearty and this was more of a broth type soup with a very light flavor. My boyfriend liked it a lot though and finished the soup. So, it may be that I was just biased by my previous experiences and what Italianissimo was serving was more the traditional soup than what I'd had previously. But, at this point I was wondering how the rest of the meal was going to be. We both ordered specials. I had the risotto with asparagus and chicken saltimbocca and my boyfriend got the halibut cooked piccata style. Because of my experience up to that point I was a bit ambivalent prior to tasting my main dish, but what a pleasant surprise. The Risotto was wonderful. It was creamy and delicious with perfectly cooked asparagus giving it a little crunch, and the chicken, which was tender and juicy, giving it little bursts of different flavor. I just reheated the remainder of the risotto yesterday and it was just as wonderful the second time around. But the piece de resistance was the halibut. It was incredible. I stole a couple of bites from my boyfriend's plate because I have never tasted halibut cooked that perfectly. I used to eat halibut a lot and it often had a "steak" kind of consistency, but this was soooo tender and delicious. Unfortunately we were too full and needing to get going for the concert so we skipped dessert, but I will definitely return. I'm so glad that the meal ended on such a high note.
Very disappointing. We have been coming to Italianissimo reasonably often for dinner and lunch over the last 3 years. This last visit was very disappointing. The food was blend, it seems the cook had ran out of salt and pepper on everything. The french onion soup had no structure, the onions were just missing. The gnocchi panna rosa just tasted like potato starch, the tomato sauce was missing any spices. The fettucine doppia crema, there was no cheese taste, the spaghettini bolognese was a pile of meat dumped on to pasta without taste and the filetto con gorgonzola medium rare, was well down and the gorgonzola tasted more like feta than anything else. The special my wife had was like we were used to. So something was clearly off in my opinion.
The presentation was simply absent, simply dumped on to the plate and not paid any attention too.
The service was just poor, no attention for detail, not paying attention if you have utensils, drinks, ...
The price was still high, US$ 272 for 5 people.
Seems to be going downhill with Italianissimo, maybe they have a new chef or the chef just left, but this was so far below standards that this was the last time for us to visit them.
My husband and I had a 5pm reservation on a Saturday. It was our first visit, but I'm pretty sure it won't be our last! My husband had spaghetti carbonara, and I had gluten free penne al pomodoro basilico. My husband was thrilled with his, and mine was fantastic! It tasted just like the pasta that was prepared for me in Vignanello, Italy last summer - the sauce was fresh with fresh herbs and a crunch from some finely diced fennel. To die for!
Friday night dinner with friends was great. We arrived right at our reservation time and were seated immediately. The service was spot on and we didn't want for anything. Started with a round of cocktails and an appetizer. The bruschetta tasted like summer and the bread was perfect. I had a sazaerac, and would go back for the cocktail alone. Favorite drink on balmy Pacific Northwest summer nights and they did it perfectly. Friends selected options from the beer and wine menu and were pleased with their choices. We all ordered different pasta dishes and everyone in the group enjoyed their entrees. Finished with a round of rich coffee and shared chocolate mousse. Great dining option in Woodinville. Looking forward to the next visit.
