I am a restaurateur for over 30 years: I do not ever complain although this night was the result of poor training and understaffed training. We arrived on time for our reservation, no one had checked the open table reservations made several hours in advance. When we arrived we were kept waiting at the hostess station as they searched for the reservation, had to have us enter all our information over. This took an additional 15-20 minutes. There were two hostesses, three to four assistants, although one main terminal that they were working off. All this happening while the line of people backing up at the door grew and others were seated. Once seated at our table, we noted the music extremely loud, the lighting non existent. There was seemingly one server for the section and was running between many tables. We waited patiently for another 20-25 minutes; having never been approached for water, greeting, anything? The scene was definitely alive and three locations under one roof. Perhaps if earlier in the day or night the experience would have been different : as when we arrived it was definitely more “club” oriented and pretty people focused. For the owners; focus on the service and experience of all your customers and ensure they feel welcomed and are well serviced. Hire and train your staff to handle the capacity, and give them the necessary tools to be successful in creating a positive experience for all.
