Sushi Deluxe For 1

Spicy Crab, Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Lobster Salad
Hamachi / Yellowtail from Japan
Fresh sushi. Fresh Japanese Wasabi 🔥
The food was beautiful and the service lovely, but the food took quite a while and the decor could use a little love.
We navigated to this restaurant after learning that they are the only sushi restaurant in Puerto Rico to import their fish from Japan. Can’t lie, we were intrigued. We ordered the king Salmon roll and the chef sushi special for 2. The fish melted in your mouth like butter. The yellowtail was delicious, tuna a little fishy but still tasty and the salmon was incredible.
Great food, service and ambiance.
The food was delicious and fresh! Our waitress Crystal was super attentive and nice. Will definitely return
Quality food, but you pay for that. So don’t be surprised at a high bill. It is worth it though.
The omakase experience was excellent!
The food was amazing! Our server Crystal was the bomb! In a good way... Very attentive & personable. I recommend this place if you like sushi
I have been to many sushi places from mediocre to fancy ones but never gauged before as we were here last night. I get salmon avocado roll everywhere. Here they charge $1 extra for avocado on top of a $10 salmon roll which was a measly prepared roll with a ton of pressed sushi rice. We asked for sea urchin eggs, they said they have it. She said that they prepare four pieces. It came in a small miso soup spoon after we finished our meal just before I decided to cancel it. It was fresh but they charged $26 for a spoonful sea urchin eggs (their four pieces were chick pea sized). Their seaweed salad was not special at all, right out of Costco’s container. We were hoping to have a better experience but it was super expensive for less than moderate sushi.
We use fresh King Salmon, the finest salmon available, which is not the inferior and less costly salmon you get “everywhere”. You did not ask for Sea Urchin eggs, you asked for Ikura, which is salmon roe. You requested them as sashimi, hence no rice, and we served not one, but FOUR spoons of Ikura. We pride ourselves on the fresh high quality fish we fly in biweekly from Toyosu market in Tokyo, and this is costly, but for us, quality is of utmost importance.
The waitress was excellent and the food delicious
Best service we had on the island, hands down!
We went for a birthday dinner and truly had an incredible experience! We ordered the sushi combo deluxe for 2, which was a perfect portion. The Japanese wasabi and the sake were great as well.
What really made the experience great was the service. Our server was attentive, nice, friendly, and we saw her just enough.
I will come back next time I’m here.
The omikase is the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The kobe beef literally melts in your mouth. They have REAL Japanese Wasabi and it's amazing. Service was extremely helpful and polite. They even gave us a complimentary glass of great Japanese whisky when they learned of our recent engagment.
Excelente servicio, muy atento y la comida riquísima.
Food was really good but they took almost two hours for servicing. They should organize themselves so can improve the experience during peak hours.
Food was great. Would recommend.
Outside tables are too noisy.
Great staff. Crystal is a happy and really great server!
my boyfriend and I come here all the time ever since I showed him this place ^-^ he asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday: I said "Japan," so, in lieu of taking a very expensive and long flight, I asked him to take me here!
eating at iSushi is like landing in Tokyo: nowhere else on the island does there exist a truly authentic Japanese experience. the menu is to die for, the sake list is heaven-sent, and the food speaks for itself when the whole table goes silent after the first bite: I recently brought my girlfriends for a wedding-planning dinner and they raved for hours afterwards, saying I had ruined all other sushi for them! I was expecting nothing less: as I said, this is as close as you could ever get to eating in marvelous Nihon without actually flying there.
the place is expensive, but you get what you pay for, and here you pay for serious, unrivaled quality. the chefs are absolute experts on the art of making genuine Japanese sushi, and the place flies in fresh fish from Japan twice a week. if you want fish that melts in your mouth like butter, this is the only place in Puerto Rico that will give you what you crave, it literally doesn't get any better than this! on an island where most "sushi" restaurants are a japanese-chinese-thai-american-puertorican food hybrid, iSushi stands alone as the one and only authentic Japanese restaurant, and the ONLY one I will ever go to from now on.
they even have mochi ice cream *^*)/
do NOT miss this place! your buds and tastebuds will never forget nor regret it! my boyfriend and I will continue to spend our splurge days in this haven of perfect, Japanese food...iSushi forever!
Thanks so much for your most honest review. We truly appreciate that you appreciate what we do. We look forward to seeing you again!
Excellent food and service. Small nice space!
We visited this place hoping to get some great sushi since there are so many good reviews. Unfortunately we must have gone on an off night. The service was lacking, but that's not a big deal, she was by herself dealing with all the other customers and we wernt really in any type of rush.
My main issue (and the reason for the 1-star) was because we ordered the "Lovers deluxe combination" under the Omakase menu. Which is supposed to be "8 pieces sushi, 6 pieces sashimi, 2 maki rolls, chefs choice, 2 miso soups". So we were expecting some type of variety of different fishes/rolls, but when we got our order it was just tuna and salmon prepared different ways (tuna roll, tuna sashimi, tuna sushi, etc). So basically $80 for tuna and salmon prepared in different ways. On top of that some of the fish on that platter just didn't seem fresh so we ate about half the platter, but sent the rest back. We also had some sake and edamame, the sake was good, but the edamame was way too salty.
So just having tuna and salmon wouldn't have been that big of deal except our total bill was ~$200. It just felt like it was for sure not worth it at all. I understand getting "the freshest fish from the Toyosu Market" has a cost to it, but the experience we had and the quality of the food we had was for sure not worth ~$200 for us. Maybe it was an off night, but I know that I would not recommend this place to any of my friends.
** Also note that any of the other negative reviews it looks like the owner/manger responds trying to attack the reviewer. I'm not sure whats up with that, but seriously don't go here unless you have no other choice and all the other restaurants are booked up or at capacity.
I've also attached a screenshot of the menu because after I left my review, the restaurant called me saying I was the one mistaken and that the "lovers deluxe" is supposed to be only tuna and salmon, and it was my fault for not knowing that, even though the menu doesn't mention it.
The server oriented this guest about our Omakase option prior to him ordering the Lover's deluxe which included Fresh: Ahi Tuna, King Salmon, Japanese Hamachi, Japanese Suzuki & Japanese Madai. At no point was he informed that the Lover's deluxe included only tuna & salmon. The Lover's deluxe combination is not listed under our Omakase menu, & at no point do we represent the Lover's deluxe as 14 unique pieces of fish. Guest was expecting an Omakase experience without ordering the Omakase option.
Bad service, order was incorrect, waitress forgot things like soy sauce when asked multiple times. Re-ordered the king salmon for $12 for two pieces and received completely different salmon the second time (possibly smoked), didn’t take it off the bill when we said something. We are happy to pay for the things we order if they are correct. I also didn’t like that when we went to pay the pay machine automatically added a 25% gratuity. There were options for others but that one was selected. Good food but wouldn’t go back.
We are sorry about having forgotten to bring the soy sauce. Regarding the king salmon that you re-ordered, you did receive king salmon. The chef actually upgraded you to the belly portion of the king salmon which is a more expensive cut. You were not served a different salmon & it was king salmon that you ate. As for the payment machine, we do not have any automatic 25% option. We give the machine to each guest so the guest can choose what, if any additional gratuity he/she would like to leave.
I recently moved to Condado from New York and am a huge Sushi and Sashimi fan. I enjoy a delicious Omakase meal. Unfortunately, this restaurant misses the mark by a mile.
I have eaten here twice but I’m now done with it. The first time was just decent with terrible service and egregiously over priced for the quality. The second time, and the reason I am posting my first review, the food was terrible, the service was just as bad as the food, (It should be noted that at both meals I’ve had at the restaurant the waitresses brought out only one omakase for the table instead of an omakase for each personal at table. Can you imagine?!?!? The first meal I was on a date with my wife and the second time I took my son and a good friend because every other restaurant was booked on a Saturday night) and the bill for three people was over $600 for sushi that tasted like it was purchased at a supermarket. Certainly not a restaurant. This place is a tourist trap and not worth going to even if it was a third of the price. Stay away from the this restaurant unless you love meals that are grossly overpriced and of below average quality/taste and terrible service. Paul
He visited us in 10/2020 - ordered two 10 piece Omakase. Informed staff he was extremely satisfied with food & service. Visited again in 03/2021. Ordered one 10 piece Omakase. Devoured all 10 pieces. Guest then ordered two additional 10 piece Omakase. Devoured all 20 pieces. He then ordered several pieces of Hokkaido Uni. Devoured all those. For service & food that, according to this guest, was terrible, we are at a loss as to why he returned, or why he re-ordered the same food many times over.
One of the best sushi restaurants in Puerto Rico, owner was present and attentive. Staff is knowledgeable and the quality of the fish was great. We will be back.
Service was awesome and sushi was great!
By far the best sushi (and we know good sushi from NY to CA)!! Crystal was amazing and the owner was very kind. Must try the yellowtail pepper appetizer!! We will be back on our next trip!
Worst food and service we had in Puerto Rico. Definitely expected better. Honestly there was nothing good about it.
This guest ordered four items; spring rolls, steamed dumplings, shrimp tempura maki and king salmon nigiri. Guest indicated to server that she was very happy and left a 20% tip. This is in complete contrast to her review here.
It was fantastic to find so many of my favorite fish from Tokyo here on the island - this was my first time back in 7+ years, and the last time I was here the sushi options were... much much less sophisticated. Prices are a little high but generally fair for the quality and source of the fish. Bluefin was excellent quality. Sayori, kamasu, gindara, saba all also particularly excellent. Decent sake options as well. There are a la carte options too for the more budget oriented diner. I’m looking forward to returning.
Sushi was fresh!!
Really excellent service! Food was just ok. As a regular sushi eater, I wouldn’t recommend it over other good sushi restaurants in the area (even if they fly in their fish), but our waitress was really lovely! If you order crab, it might be imitation crab so I recommend asking first.
The sushi was amazing and fresh coming from New Yorkers!! Sushi prices are well worth it, sake was a bit pricey-but overall a great experience. Staff was helpful and kind. Would go back!!
Food was good, but service was great!
This is a fantastic sushi restaurant. They import their fish from Japan so their selections are unique. Highly recommended.
Was really great!!! Service was awesome sushi just as great!!
Our server, Arturo, suggested we try the 20 piece Omakase along with a great Dassai sake. There were two pieces each of all fresh: bluefin otoro and akami, king salmon and king salmon belly, hamachi, aji, sayori, kamasu, Hokkaido uni and Hokkaido scallop. The rice was perfect. The fish was so fresh. The uni was super creamy and both the otoro and king salmon belly were ultra rich. The Dassai sake was absolutely perfect for this meal. Service was excellent. We would definitely return here.
Yashira was my server and was very attentive. I had the Japanese Beef (Kobe) appetizer. It was melt in your mouth delicious. Since I was sitting at the sushi bar, I also had the chef recommend some great sashimi, all of which was very fresh. I would definitely return here.
I had an amazing meal here. The service provided by Lauren was outstanding. Some of the best sushi I've ever had. I highly recommend you visit when you are in the Condado area of San Juan, you will not be disappointed!
The service from the female server was excellent, the quality of the sushi was fresh, however the prices were extremely high which was fine since we chose to dine here. Apparently the Blue Fin Tuna was shipped from Japan so we decided to try it. It was okay. My standards are high after having years of amazing sushi/sashimi from Vancouver Canada. The 3 piece Trio Sampler of Blue Fin Tuna Sushi was $40. We also ordered a salmon roll it arrived with a very small amount of salmon.
Furthermore, to our surprise, an 18% service charge was automatically added to our bill even though there were only two of us.
We made a reservation through Open Table. Open Table sent me an email letting me know that the owner (who also served us one dish) marked us as a "NO SHOW". Now I wonder if the restaurant had to pay an extra fee to Open Table when we accumulated 1000 points for our reservation. I believe in ethical conduct when it comes to making reservations. I was disappointed that the owner would do this but overall happy with Open Table's policies.
Food very good but pricey you need to pay attention to the bill as I was charge a tip plus a service charge and have to return to get a refund. They will not accept open table reward certificate event though it was listed as one of the few restaurants that do
No visible sushi chef
Fish was warm
Never will return !
