Isola Little Italy
I have vivid memories of my grandmother turning plain bread into amazing desserts, simple apples into incredible fritters sprinkled with a little sugar and honey, and even treating my sunburns with olive oil. Thirty years later, I still savor every meal and moment.
Isola is proud to serve the finest local ingredients, dalla vite, from the vine. I hope you enjoy every bite, plucked from my family tree for your table. Buon appetito!

Great place! It’s always good. Thank you 🙏🏻
Very poor service. Food was pretty good, but entrees came out before appetizers, and two members of our party didn’t get their food for about 20 minutes after the rest of us got ours. Pizza dough was great but soggy in the middle and my sausage pizza had four pieces of sausage, a bunch of greasy and over cooked onions and mushrooms.
Food came out in a weird order. Pizza first, then like 10 minutes later our appetizer came out, then our first round of drinks after that.
Very good food, polite and friendly, fair pricing
Nice place with great pizzas from a old school wood burning oven. Need to go back and try other menu items.
Everyone terrific there, great staff and food is amazing. I don’t remember our sever name ( has a little guy named Noah) she was amazing. Please go to isola, you will love it!!
Very good meal. Delightful location with great people watching while dining.
It’s one of our favorite restaurants!
There’s no question about it. Food and service are very good
Thank you 🙏🏻
Food is good. Great location. Service ia decent. Altogether nice
The food was ok but service was horrible. Hostess was not friendly. Waited over 20 minutes just to get two glasses of wine. The waitress didn’t even acknowledge how slow things were. Bread came with our meal instead of out first. Then a rapper performer came into the restaurant blaring music and putting Venmo cards on every table as people were trying to enjoy their dinner and wine. They continued to videotape him performing along with all of the guest of the restaurant without anyone permission. It was so loud and the staff did not do anything to get him out of there. We were actually asked if we enjoy the performance by the waitress. Will not return, would not recommend.
We loved it! It’s one of our favourite restaurants.
It’s always very good. Very friendly service
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Father’s Day - my dad greatly enjoyed!
We love Isola in La Jolla and tried the one in Little Italy. The menu is slightly different. The appetizers (bruschetta and brussel) were very tasty. The tomato-basil soup was good but not unique. The pizzas were awesome but the porcini e pancetta had a little too many mushrooms that soaked the center of the pizza.,
Food and service was terrific.
Loved this restaurant. The food was amazing. Definitely coming back.
awesome as always. This is the only place in Little Italy we ever go to. Happy Hour $5 pizzas and $6 wines plus a bunch more tasty small plates. I would highly recommend.
The hostess did not provide a warm reception at all. The food was very good, but unfortunately the service was slow and one of the orders was not placed. It may have been that it was the end of a long day for the staff, but our server didn’t seem very concerned that one of the guests was without a meal.
Great place! The food and service are always excellent!
Great dining experience
First time here and wood fired pizza was great! Pinot noir wine was also a winner for us. Some of the wait staff were not amazingly trained, but perhaps they were new.
Our waitress, Rachel H. was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.
We will be back.
Very drab decor, was expecting to be more impressed based on the prices. Lousy wine selection, great bread, average food. Wouldn’t go back.
Great pizza...much like in real Italy.
Good thing we had reservations, it was pretty busy on a Saturday evening. We sat outside street level. Nice that they had heaters to ward off the chill.
Food arrived quickly with good portions. I never had Gnocchi before and I am glad I tried it.
There are a lot of restaurants in the area to chose from and some are pretty hard to get into. We enjoyed our visit.
Super sweet waitress, amazing food & great wine & ambiance what more can I ask for!
Server not too polite … food was good
Best pizza in Little Italy! Love this place and pricing is reasonable. Perfect pizzas every time.
Food was delish. Loved the brussel sprouts. Panna cotta was amazing. We will be back.
Loved everything! Apps and pizza!!
The food was absolutely delicious, the pizza was out of this world along with all their appetizers. Highly recommend.
Cute little spot in Little Italy! I’m so happy I found Isola Pizza Bar while browsing on Open Table. The service was great and the food was delicious — outdoor dining was a nice touch :)
Food was incredible! Hands down the best wood fired pizza we have ever had - so good we went back a second time during our 5 day trip. Service was excellent as well! highly recommend!
Our server was outstanding. I can't remember her name, but she was on top of it. She suggested a few items, and even checked for the perfect bottle of wine for us. I would say for the price, the food was pretty plain - I definitely expected it to be way better than it was. I also wouldn't trust the rating of this place, as "exceptional" because it wasn't. The bathrooms are really really gross. You can barely find them because of the mural on the wall, and when you walk in, it's dark... Like, night light in the middle of the night dark. I had to turn my phone's flashlight on just to see. When I did, the bathrooms were janky, not clean, and just really gross, but maybe that's why they have the lights so dim.
Anyway, would not recommend, and will not be coming back. If you're looking for quality food at the same price, head down to Sorrento a little further down on India.
Excellent pizza and appetizers
Best Happy Hour in SD!
We loved it! Everything was excellent! Thank you 🙏🏻
The pizza was the best I’ve ever tasted. The crust was so light and fluffy and didn’t stuff you leaving you feeling satisfied and happy 😊
We were sat and left at the table for 25 minutes before a drink order was taken. The table was on the sidewalk and was so slanted that the drinks were sliding off and the waiter spilled water everywhere. The food is average at best and we couldn’t wait to leave after we paid our overpriced check :-/
absolutely the most disappointing dinner of my last year . the food was tasteless , the pizza undercooked and doughy but burnt on edges , the mozzarella cheese hard and dry , the tomatoes not ripe , the carpaccio was dry and did not have hardly any olive oil on it .
I just dont know what happened . This restaurant has mostly 5 star reviews which is why we chose it .
I would not go back and would not recommend it to anyone .
