Onion Crusted Grouper
mashed potatoes / Fried Spinach / Bacon citrus glaze
Great food & service
I had a nice table outside. The Thai chili shrimp was perfectly balanced. Excellent preparation variety of 3 different fresh fish of the day! AND 2 chef's special preparations. I had the Cobia Jerk preparation with a special slaw that had a hint of cinnamon, with a small crispy on the outside potato cake. Great combination of textures and flavors! I I figure it will take me 12 visits just to try all the potential combinations of 3 different fresh fish preparations.....that's without the Chef's specials! This level of sophistication and flavor was an unexpected pleasure!! The service was accommodating, efficient and pleasant.
Food overall was good. However, the raw oysters were so sad looking...so skinny that we barely taste much of the oysters.
Friendly service. Staff were very welcoming.
We were concerned of none ofthe staff or customers wore masks. If we knew we wouldn't have came to this restaurant.
Awesome in every way. Fresh caught local Fish is only thing served for daily fish entrees and the taste if fish was exceptional, not to mention the Chou e of jerked, Cajun, blackened or grilled, AND the sauce and glazed are WOW. Good home made chocolate mousse, and key lime pie, plus rum tipped creme brûlée were extra WOw. A first choice of all fish restaurants in the County.
First the food…. Fresh and delicious. I had onion crusted tilefish. My goodness. The taste of the fish came through and the crust was the perfect compliment. I highly recommend the creme brûlée. It was to die for. Second the service… Miles was our server and he is a delight. We wanted for nothing. The atmosphere is upscale in the tropics. This place is perfect for a date night, a girls’ night out, or a business meeting.
Do not pass this exceptional little local restaurant up if in the area. You will not be disappointed. Fresh fish caught daily and locally. Our server actually caught the grouper we ate. I catch and cook my own fish but their preparation is top notch. The chef is superb.
As always, amazing good, fresh fish, prepared perfectly and key lime pie to die for!
Wonderful food and service. Everyone loved what they ordered and we even discussed coming back the next night.
Would recommend to anyone in the area.
The food is always great! Fresh and perfectly cooked!
Yummy. Great food and amazing service
We love the fresh fish straight from the boat. Although we live in Reno, NV, we go there as often as we are in Indianalantic, FL. We also love the fried spinach.
Fresh fish cooked perfectly and creatively. Excellent service, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Will be back.
Wonderful selection of fish and seafood, beautifully prepared and plated. We both chose the flash fried spinach and were not disappointed. He had the onion crusted grouper, I had the scallops and shrimp - both dishes were delicious. The service was impeccable- our waiter was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. We would highly recommend Islands Fish Grill and will eat here again.
The reviews we read set the tone for an exceptionally good meal. Everything we had from the Caesar salad do the fried spinach to the chefs grits to the incredible onion crusted grouper was really exceptional. Noise level a little loud for us older people but we put up with it because the food was so great. We will absolutely be going back
Love that place. We live in Reno, NV and come here every time we are in Melbourne. We have been here 4 times this year
Always a great meal
The food and service here is excellent. We recently rediscovered Islands Fish Grill and agree that it is our local favorite ❤️
Fabulous meal once again. We all loved our meals.
Tables pretty close together given Covid issues. Fairly noisy but could still talk. Food was fantastic - very good! Added pics. No cocktails, but extensive wine and beer listing. Service was a bit slow at times, but have to consider short staffing. About 5 people working the dining areas…. again, part of the times we are in. Everyone was pleasant and helpful and did all they could.
Definitely would go back. Great fish as expected and a pleasant experience. Good choice for a special occasion.
Great seafood… outside dining is only 2 tables recommend inside other than that a creative menu and freshest seafood with good service
We’ve been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and finally got the chance to experience. The food was excellent!
Since COVID began we’ve been subjected to mediocre food and terrible service at almost every restaurant we frequent. This was NOT the case here. It was refreshing to have such on par service with such amazing food. Ordered the Snapper dish and Almaco Jack special. Each was served hot and delicious.
Only non-issue “issue” was the decor. It was sort of a mix of nautical meets faux shiplap with Mediterranean arches. So…?
Overall, terrific and will definitely return.
Outstanding dinner. Always consistent and fresh. We were very pleased.
Amazing Food, Amazing People
Excellent food and attentive, friendly staff. All fish is local from Florida and never frozen. Fabulous!
Dinner was amazing. Onion Crusted Grouper was so white and flaky and that sauce was delicious. The grits were melt in your mouth creamy. We will definitely be back.
Food was creative and delicious. Service was awesome. Family owned and amazing. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended! Nice wine list too.
The onion crusted is their go to signature preparation method. The grits with sour cream and a very light hint of jalapeño is a must. Fish are fresh caught. Only serve wine and beer. Parking is in rear off 6th Ave even though goggle maps will try to take you to 5th. The do have a kids menu, but the place is not set up to be kid friendly. If the child can’t stay in their seat , it may not be the place for them because tables are close. No room for baby’s left in strollers. Service dogs would also find it hard to stretch out. This is really more of an adults only establishments. It could be considered romantic and a bit up scale. Business/resort causal would explain the dress code.
My husband and I both ate the onion crusted grouper and fried spinach and they were awesome. So good We will be back to have them again on my birthday
Excellent seafood choices that are on point! The raw oysters were very good.
I dropped my wallet while at the table and left without it. The hostess tracked me down through my Open Table reservation to return it so that was a great ending to what could’ve been disastrous evening!
I’ve lived in this area for 5 years and just experienced Islands Fish Grill for the first time. It was amazing! I can’t believe I hadn’t dined here before?! It’s a hidden gem! Food and service equally fantastic. Only potential downside is they only serve beer and wine. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Exceptional fish. Fresh grouper direct off local boats. Must try the Onion Crusted Grouper...Amazing and perfectly prepared. On my mother's side, our family is from a 1500 yr old fishing village on the Baltic...we grew up catching and eating fresh fish daily, and this was by far the best prepared fish we've eaten stateside.
Also, the crabcakes were very tasty...lots of crab meat and no fillers. Chimichurri corn was delicious and nicely seasoned, the fried spinach was different...sweet and crunchy but melts in your mouth, and parmesan and garlic grits were very creamy and also perfectly seasoned.
I had the raspberry creme brulee for dessert...both Mom and Dad lit up with big smiles when they tried it. I didn't try the Key Lime pie, but they both loved theirs.
Overall a very enjoyable and exceptionally well prepared meal in a classy beach setting. We will definitely be back soon...Bravo!
Been going here for 5 years. Always great food and service. Price point has gotten very high, but that seems to be happening at a lot of places
The service was great & our server very attentive. The food was delicious, we both had fresh catch fish. Grouper & Triggerfish, Snapper was also on the menu. Enjoyed the flash fried spinach, a real treat not found in many restaurants. Limited menu so they can give attention to details. Very nice experience. We will definitely go back to try other menu items.
Excellent food and service as always. Our server Yanni was fabulous. The onion crusted grouper is delicious and definitely try the fried spinach. It melts in your mouth!
Lobster Mac was terrible , also we told our server we would like the prisoner wine special for $30 that we found on the table and pointed too. we had two bottles that turned out to be $70 a piece not 30. We felt this was a complete bait and switch. And when we brought this up at the end of our meal we were offered two mini bottles of champagne which made no sense.
Creative dishes with delicious flavor and attention to detail.
Great fresh fish! Friendly staff! Great time! Definitely recommend!
Great meals for all 4 of us. Onion crusted grouper, salmon special & filet were all perfectly prepared. Side dishes & soup very very good. Excellent waiter.
The food was fresh and deliciously prepared and the service was outstanding, a hidden gem in Brevard county.
Great time - we’ll be back
