Fresh scallops wrapped with apple-smoked bacon in a Sriracha mango sauce
Horrible experience wedding night planned for a month was excited for opportunity as a chef to try nice food on the island other then same old tourist fare . Order oysters Rockefeller and 2 lobster and fillet dinner one mid well ( wife's) oyster never came so sent food back to wait for the appatizer finally came out cold and then they just held our food u der the heat lamps so steaks was overcooked. Manager didn't even want to make it right just said we owed them nothing. So walked out hungry on wedding night and had a burger 🍔 thanks you island view.
Wonderful service, great food.. The woman
Who sang was absolutely amazing. We had the 2 for $30
Pasta night. Everything tasted great we will definitely be back.
Good food,somewhat slow service.
Food was okay, nothing exciting. Had grouper and shrimp in coconut sauce. Not very coconutty. Tried the green beans, sure didn’t taste like fresh beans,
View was great
Was a friday night. There was a singer at dinnertime that was a bit loud for our taste.
Took 20 minutes for the server to acknowledge us and ask for our drinks (there were only 3 tables in the place). It was a wasted evening with bad service and bad food. Spent over 2 hours. The table next to us had 4 bottles of wine and we couldn’t even get water. We would have loved to order more drinks since it was my birthday. We had to track down multiple people just to pay an expensive bill. Very disappointed and we will not be back ☹️
Great service ! Pasta was on point! Marinara, vodka and ariabata sauces were terrific! Steaks were also good.
Old times look to it and tacky atmosphere. The food was very tasty and the service was very good. Also, the view of the ocean was fabulous. Over all, we would go back again.
Good views of beach, food was good, generous portions.
Food was adequate, Live music was entertaining. Older crowd, 50s style ambiance.
Good food and the view was spectacular I would go back again
Our 39th Anniversary! Everything was just superb, Michael D’Amore singing was fantastic!
Picked the place off of ease of reservations and location of our hotel as well as the pictures of the food. The best thing about this restaurant are the views!!
The food was eh. The version of Picata sauce was “think” like Alfredo sauce. One fish dish was over cooked and very dry. Husbands “pesto” sauce was thick green topping over the chicken. We asked for a side of pasta instead of the rice which was served with the fish entrees. The waiter gave us a look, but didn’t explain that a side of pasta was practically a full portion until we commented at the end. We are not a family to send back food just a family not to return.
As an appetizer we ordered the grilled octopus, and were quite surprised how it was brought out. Liked more like sliced sausage, but soaking in oil.
Not sure if there regular chefs haven’t returned, but again didn’t expect the quality. The decor should be updated but that was a nonissue. Actually, brought back memories of growing up and sharing stories with our teens.
Overall, had nice family time, but would have been better off going to one of the local places in the beach
I had some mixed feelings about Lani Kai. On one hand, it's an older restaurant that (in my opinion) for a tourist is in an odd location at the top of an older "colorful" resort. It was recommended to me by a front desk service at the Pink Shell Resort and since I could make a same-day reservation for a party of 9, I took a risk and booked it via OpenTable. The atmosphere is very kitsch and old school, but I don't mean that in a negative way. My girlfriends and I enjoyed the Sinatra-Esque lounge singer in his shiny sequined blazer and our waitress, Myrtle, was very attentive to a party of 6 adults and 3 children all ordering multiple drinks, apps, salads, bread, and entrees. There's a HUGE menu, but 2 out of 9 of us had a plate they felt was really bland and not that great, but the rest of us were pleased. The Drunken Stuffed Chicken was enjoyed by me and many at the table who wanted a bite. The view is really great in that it is HIGH up so you can see way out over the ocean at the window booths. If you go into it with the understanding that you'll see chandeliers and decor that may catch you a little off guard for a "current" resturant, you'll enjoy the ambiance and have a good time singing along with some jazzy classics.
Seafood not fresh. Manager very nice. Food was awful.
Nice ocean view; there was a great show that night; food is so good! We shared the crabcakes, our entrees came with a choice of soup or salad. Owner came around to thank all for coming. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating. Happy hour drinks are a good deal! Located on top of Lani Kai. Look for the glass elevator. Free parking across the street if you dine at Island View.
Our appetizers came out one at a time and then it took an hour for our entrées to get there and things were lukewarm. The server was excellent she did everything that she could to try to make things right the manager charged us for our meals that we took one bite out of each when we pay the tab and left totally disappointed this is our 10th visit to the island view and we will not go back again.
Great food, good service, beautiful views. We will be back.
Very good experience. Would come back. The area was busy but the Parking manager made sure we found a spot. Service was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were not rushed at all. Will return. Enjoyed the view by the windows of the Gulf.
Food was delicious and view was great. Only thing I would complain about was it was difficult to locate the entrance from downstairs.
The grouper wasn't grouper and the pasta was horrible
I'm sorry you feel this way, David. Please know that our grouper is certainly grouper, as our mahi is mahi, and our snapper is snapper. If for whatever reason we run out of one, we never substitute with anything else. Thank you for coming by, perhaps we'll have an opportunity to see you again.
Good food for reasonable price. Great views.
Thank you so much for dining with us, Niki. We can't wait to see you again soon!
With COVID, not a safe place to dine. Staff and guests walking around without a mask. Very crowded for a pandemic. Otherwise, food and location are perfect. Would visit after the pandemic again.
The views of the beach from this 6th floor restaurant are great but beyond that this restaurant is disappointing.
The decor is a mix of old world and beach..??
The fish (salmon) was served with a big scoop of white rice and green beans. The fish trio was 6 tiny pieces of fish served again with a scoop of plain rice and mediocre at best. Diners come in from the beach dressed very casually.
The plus is the view and the live jazz on Thursday nights.
The ambiance is low end while menu prices are high end.
The high tops or the bar give you a wonderful view and superb service. I've had my whole company come to FL and we all had dinner one evening- 15 people and the meals were perfection, all brought out together, and everyone felt pampered. The Happy Hour martinis are lovely. We will make sure to come here often when we return in the winter. Menu has something for everyone and the portions are generous.
We are so very happy to read all of this – thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience, and for dining with us. We look forward to entertaining you again soon!
Food was well done especially the appetizer’s and I haven’t had a clam chowder that good since Seattle. Great place for good food in a relaxed-formal type atmosphere.
Everything was great except for the piece of glass my wife found in her salad. We didnt make a fuss just let the waitress know to let the kitchen know in case they were plating from a big bowl so no one else got any.
Singer was good. People and server were great. Everyone was nice. Good place to go for music and drinks. Food not very good.
Great view of ocean.
Time Wrap in a 1977 is the ambience of this very unique establishment
Bad frozen food reheated or cooked. Had to send back order because they got it wrong. Had to have the check corrected because it was wrong and inflated.
Can't tell you how to improve this place. Besides sits a waste of money. Nice view from window seats.
Bar tender had no clue how to make a Manhattan. We ordered cocktails and waiter brought them to the table one at a time. We were in the process of ordering appetizers and after the first person in our party an appetizer the waiter left the table. We were wanting to order another one but he took off. Didn’t see him again until he returned with the only one ordered. We had trouble ordering our meals because the entertainment was so loud. In fact the music/entertainment was so loud we couldn’t carry on any type of conversation. All meals were nothing to write home about and poor value. One of my guests was a graduate from New York Culinary Arts Institute and had worked at several 5 Star restaurants. Needless to say I was embarrassed that I brought my guests to this establishment. I will never be back.
VERY NICE TABLE WITH VIEWS
FABULOUS MENU CHOICES
NO HELP NEEDED! THEY HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER INCLUDING CLOTH TABLE CLOTH AND NAPKIN ALONG WITH GREAT SERVICE AND MENU.
Horrible service. Food took an hour to arrive. I had to talk to manager to know what was going on after 45 minutes.
Great food and service. We saw a beautiful sunset. Great location.
Horrible waitstaff service but friendly. Food was not very good either. Over cooked and cooked at too low of temp so then food was saturated with oil
Great view of the beach. Excellent food.
The two for $30 pasta night was a good value. The carbonara was outstanding. The fresh dinner rolls were delicious too. Nice restaurant that you wouldn’t expect to be at the top of that hotel.
Awesome food & Service - We saw the sunset and enjoy a great time with excellent music
Food was great when we finally got it. Service was very slow!!!!!
