   Mixed feelings after rebranding I've enjoyed this restaurant since it was Arleana's, appreciating the classy Jamaican/French fusion menu, especially their crab dishes. Having Jamaican heritage, I always love supporting Caribbean restaurants. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Island Soul since the rebranding was disappointing. The rice was undercooked, and the curry goat had an unusual amount of cilantro. Both our curry goat and oxtail arrived lukewarm, though our kids' meals came out hot. The bread pudding dessert was hot on the edges but cold in the middle. It was busy, and they seemed understaffed, which explains the longer wait times however, our server was pleasant throughout. We took leftovers home to reheat, which improved things (except for the rice). Living 50 minutes away, we probably won't return soon, but I hope this feedback reaches the owner. As a fellow entrepreneur, I understand the challenges, but consistent food quality and temperature are basics that need attention for the restaurant to continue to thrive.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

   The food was better when the restaurant was Arleana’s. The rice and peas were under cooked and the jerk chicken was dry. I will still eat here, because it’s a business worth supporting, but I hope the food regains its quality.

   First time and absolutely blown away with the food, service and ambiance. 10/10 and so happy they have vegan dishes. Can’t wait to go back!

   Island Soul comes to the East side! I'm a fan of Columbia City's Island Soul, and having a venue on the east side is great. Island Soul Kirkland serves delicious food, with a menu true to the original but with its own flare. Service is great. Location is easy to access, and 2 hours free parking in the building! I'll be back.

   When entering the restaurant already feel the atmosphere of Jamaica, the color and interior design of the room is very beautiful. Greeted by a very friendly and humorous waiter (oh I forgot his name). My friend who was a birthday, she ordered a drink: "Bird of Paradise, then Empress Lavender. For shareables we ordered: "Sweet Plantains, Wings. from the Large Menu, we ordered:" Arlena's Salad, Jamaican Rundown (We are joking Jamaican Rendang 😁), Jerk Chicken, Lamb Skewers. all food we ordered taste so good !!! except lamb a little dry. All main courses are given side dishes of basmati rice. I would be very satisfied if the side dish was jasmine rice. because it will increase my appetite personally.
